So what of the abused baby?
Survived?

He sustained serious head injury and was in intensive care.

Not that I will ever justify violence on defenseless children but you need to see how some helps are being treated like 10th class citizens by their employers. They become embittered in the process and who else is around to take out their bitterness on if not defenseless kids? Just yesterday I heard of of one that was always starved and ill treated by her bosses. What she would do us take the children's toothbrushes to scrub the toilet then use them to brush the children's teeth *pukes*. Who knows how long this has been going on before she got caught. Some people don't believe in showing a little love to their domestic staff also forgetting that their children's lives arr in the hands of these people.

Try that with my child and you dead....simple

An angry father threw a chair at a judge over the ‘absurdly low’ sentence given to the man who killed his two-year-old girl and her grandparents in a road accident.

The motorist killed the toddler and her 67 and 64-year-old grandparents instantly when he went off the road at 75mph in a 50mph zone.

This nanny video was shown in my church today (Adult congregation). You can imagine the reactions. Afterwards my Pastor allowed for 30minutes discussion about the family. I think some churches can emulate that !!!

Your uneducated neighbor who sees nothing wrong in using a minor,is that the person you are using to compare?
Did you notice the maid in the video is an adult

When I told people I won't bother having a maid, people saw it as a joke telling me when my future wife is pregnant, who will do the cleaning, the washing and all? I said I will and it sounded impossible to 'em all.

God knows I wouldn't know what I will be capable of should the above happen to me. I mean, using my child, a toddler for that matter as a training ground.

A vicious cycle of hatred it is. Being treated as below human and the person in turn, takes it out on a weaker person which in turn takes it out on a weaker person and it goes on like that.

Important: The baby is not dead! That is just a rumour spread by unscrupulous social media.

Story below from a Uganda newspaper:

Following reports that the two-year old baby seen in a video being tortured by a maid has passed on, we went down to work. And our investigations led us to the identity of the maid, her victim and her master. Read on.

The two year-old is seen terribly tortured by a maid we have ably identified as Jolly Tumuhiirwe, 22, a born of Rukungiri District. We have also identified the toddler's father as Erick Kamanzi, a loaded staff at a reputable NGO in Kampala who released the video yesterday mid-morning.

The video captured by interior security cameras early last week at Kamanzi's home of Naalya, reveals a breath-taking story where Tumuhiirwe is trying to feed the baby. The baby, whom we have established was sick at the time, exhibits difficulty in coping with the rough and speedy rate at which Tumuhiirwe fed her.

Tumuhiirwe then turns to the porridge and started eating it. But the tot could not contain the stuffed food down her throat. She threw up dreadfully. This invited Tumuhiirwe's wrath. She landed a hot slap on the kid before throwing her off the sofa, her face kissing the floor. She remained there for a few seconds before Tumuhiirwe followed.

Using a rechargeable torch, she clobbered her severely. Not done, she started kicking her and stepping on her back in turns. She finally gave her the last kick which sent her silent and unable to move. Tumuhiirwe then picked the baby like by one hand and vanished in the next room.

Father Arrested

According to family sources, Kamanzi last week came home and found some bruises on the baby's hind. He did not ask what happened but he hastily went to review the cameras which, he had taken long to monitor. This was last Saturday November 15th 2014.

The Video

What he saw is what we have relayed above and uploaded on the video herein. Raged to the marrow, Kamanzi bounced on Tumuhiirwe and clobbered her to pulp. Done with it, he turned to tend to the baby as Tumuhiirwe ran to police where, she reported an assault case against her Master Kamanzi.

The Kiwatule police swung into action, raided Kamanzi's home and arrested him. He promptly confessed to the charge before he was dragged to cells. After cooling down, Kamanzi asked the Cops to look at what made him clobber the maid. A mere look at the video changed the cops' stance and released Kamanzi.

Speaking to the investigator today, police chief spokesman CP Fred Enanga confirmed that Tumuhiirwe's case had been taken over by the events. Reading the file number as CRB 1346/14 of Kiira Road, Enanga said Tumuhiirwe was yesterday charged under Anti-torture Act at Nakawa Court.

But Enanga hastily adds that police are contemplating on revising the charge and upgrade it to attempted murder. He said the Tumuhiirwe will re-appear in Court on December 8th 2014. Efforts to get hints on the baby's mother were futile as family sources maintained silence on the question.

We have however established that Kamanzi is married to a beautiful Rwandese babe Angella whose reasons to stay away from her baby yet she doesn't work, remains suspect. But this is another story for another day. It is said Tumuhiirwe was at the home for only three months.

That's true and is no news either cos I have seen that one with my own two igbotic eyes. My mum's friend has a maid staying with her. She has advised this girl to stop sending her money to her people and use it to care for herself but she refused. The woman pays her 15k monthly but the girl sends everything back home. Her parents and siblings couldn't care less about her. One time her dad came to visit with her elder brother the first thing they said to my mum's friend was they hoped she wasn't going around opening her legs for men...the woman asked them what if she is? isn't she an adult and can care for herself....they said nooooo don't let her....if you let her she will turn into a prositute. This same person that sends them everything she earns. I saw her last year looking like a beggar. The woman sometimes takes her to go make her hair and pays for it with her own money.

We read their confession everyday on NLD and even hear first hand from people who have experienced such.

As for women taking children in as maids instead of adults...their reward is waiting for them

Heaven help us.

Of course majority of people rarely treat their maids well in Africa, SMH.

Child slavery sucks and needs to be scrapped and IMHO everyone who employs a minor deserves what is coming to them.

Over here and in civilised countries, a maid needs their own bedroom and are not allowed to work more than the permissible hours of the land and are allowed weekends off and have to be paid at least the minimum wage. And for these reasons, barely 10% of the population have housemaids. And it is a jailable offence and a lot of Nigerians have been jailed for this housegirls issue abroad.

People in the Western world have learnt to buckle up and dispense with their laziness and raise their kids themselves. And it is not because they have modern gadgets...there is poverty everywhere, over 42 million Americans are on food stamp in US...one in 5 Mum's in UK skip a meal so their children can eat...so their African counterpart need to stop enabling child slavery and do their own darned housework and childcare themselves!!!

The moment you decided to have kids, you also decided to become selfless.Another life is at your mercy, nothing is too much or too little when it comes to kids....

We all at one point of our life have to make sacrifices...just choose right.Make do with what best for you.

Nevertheless,to each their own....

nice response. actually the moment you decided to get marry, you have chosen to make sacrifices as you dont own urself anymore. your life is shared. hitherto personal decisions become mutually agreed decisions.

while not blaming those who choose to work and have nannies care for their babies, i would also say we (men and women) should try to be more selfless for the family

some people do treat their maids bad too. especially underage maids.

that said, the maid shoulda transferred whatever aanger to her boss and not to an innocent toddler. the maid's wickedness is beyong humanity, even animals will not understand such. she should be locked up forever and made to watch that video every moment until her heart starts bleeding. it will bleed.

Are you alright at all? Why would people who are pained by the useless maid act want the baby dead? Just because they were misinformed. Do you have brains at all? What is wrong in correcting a wrong impression without pointing an accusing finger?
