“Because my buddy’s girlfriend just found a shoebox he keeps hidden in a dresser drawer,
and she’s really upset about it. “It’s nothing bad, just pictures of him and ex-girlfriends on vacation,
and old love letters he got in high school and stuff.
But for some reason his girlfriend is freaking out about this and wants him to get rid of it or she’s threatening to break up with him.
“Is this normal female behavior?”

For me I'll say curiousity kills the cat what u dont know wouldnt kill ya, so in ma case i  wouldn't be bothered,

It's different when it comes to marriage na, the poster said that the girl was his friend's girlfriend, not wife

Marriage or not, the girl needs to calm down but I want to know why a guy is keeping those kind of memories anyway? I don't think having pictures of your ex lying around is a good idea. Does it not make them miss the exes?

and in the computer she found a CD that had all these homemade pictures of my buddy and his ex-girlfriends having sex.

I guess he was looking at them and forgot he left the CD in the computer. “But for some reason, his girlfriend isn’t upset about THAT.

What upset her more was the box of love letters. “Why do you think that is?”

When they end up marrying there are certain things to be sacrificed, the 'picture shoe box' being one of them, besides, the poster did not mention what stage of the relationship they were even at, they could have just started dating when she found the pictures etc so there is a big difference

commitment.At this point . . . You practically own each other if not legally.
Some women are not good in being careless with their treasures esp. when it includes

The biggest mistake ladies make is thinking that their man would change once he sayis "I do". False.

If he's been carrying that box around, he'll continue to do so.
If he's not attached to those memories, trust me, he would have thrown the box away when his girl found out he had a memory box.

A little advice, dnt expect men to change overnight. One of the leading cause of divorce. Painful!
