priscaoge: Tell me,how would Sharia law be imposed on us with a Buhari presidency? The constituion allows Sharia in states where there is a consensus for Sharia. The President cannot impose Sharia on the whole country without constitutional amendment....which is a long and convoluted process. And anyway....why would Buhari jeopardize peace and security if he attempted to 'force ' Sharia down everyone's throat?(Do you think he would enjoy presiding over a disorganized country?) For the record...I want Buhari to retire....but this your sharia scare tactic better stop. Last I heard...the constitution has not yet been amended or suspended. 1 Like |

I remember that movie The Good, Bad and Ugly where the Actor was telling an enemy who had him to the corner but failed to shoot him as he kept on talking and talking to him. When the ugly pulled his gun from nowhere and shot the man he told him 'Next time dont talk just shoot, shoot before you start talking' GEJ is still telling Nigerians 'about to commence, about to commence' who is not tired of that statement? 3 Likes |

Government has privatised. They have become umpires. Why don jerseys again. All they need to do is to identify key, competent private players and incentify them. Government has no business in business and until electricity production is considered a business by all it cannot succeed. |
Re: FG To Commence Work On Three Coal Power Plants by Nobody: 4:09pm On Jan 05, 2015 |
priscaoge: Agitation is one thing....implementing is another. Buhari may have said that as a citizen....but assuming he gets to the villa...he is going to find that the Constitution ties his hands in more ways than one. Life inside the villa is different from life outside it. For Buhari to force Sharia across the country....he would have to suspend the constitution, or declare it null and void....which would automatically trigger his impeachment trial....as he has essentially committed treason. (He would have an easier time implementing Sharia in Katsina State than in Nigeria). A law federalizing Sharia across every state in Nigeria would require amending the constitution...which means a 2/3RD majority in the National Assembly (which won't happen....quote me ). as well as a 2/3RD majority in all the state assemblies. Plus....all them governors who implemented Sharia in their states did so after consultations....and after the State Assembly approved it in line with the Constitution. |

rozayx5: sir, permit me to say this, but it's cos of comments like yrs that make us celebrate mediocrity in Nigeria. lemi ask u, are power plants for sight seeing? did u stop to think if there r several of such unfinished projects littered round d country? in this age nd time if u want sights to behold u can go to Dubai. nd believe me wen I say that no power plant will b among ur list over there. get my gist? don't be awed by what is supposed to give us light. be awed by d fact that we stil don't have light despite d powe plant. 2 Likes |

Vikkie14: Do you know anything about nuclear at all, i doubt if you do. Do you have knowledge about Nigerian's attitude on safety. However, as long as they construct it in your backyard its fine by me. If they cant maintain a road you think they can maintain nuclear power. People just come here and mention names of things they don't really understand thinking its generator they are dealing with. 2 Likes |
