Nonsense! You are not ready after four years preparation? People like you fail to perform your civic responsibility at the appropriate time now want postponements, abi?
For instance who will cater for people that left their places of livelihood because of the election, majority of whom are low income earning citizen? Are we really cursed? Are we sensible at all? An average Nigerian is ultra-selfish that lack consideration for his fellows. Its a pity that Nigerians are their own enemies.
Ordinary football tournaments organised by FIFA, UEFA are up to the last seconds on time. So what excuse do we have?
INEC not the FG should let the election runs as planned. It will be an eye opener to all that we are moving up, we shouldn't allow very few unpatriotic Nigerians to draw us back.
God bless Federal Republic of Nigeria.

If we're not ready in 4 years, we cant be ready in 6 weeks.

i would have preferred that we have this election over and done with quickly. agreed there is tension already but what is the assurance that it will reduce in the coming weeks. There are clashes between rival parties already which are not going to abate until all the results are declared. What is the assurance that the states in the North East will have respite from boko haram before end of March.
Lets do this quickly and let pray that all turns out well.

This is utter rubbish and arrant nonsense. The Presidency which is headed by one of the parties cannot shift the Election arbitrarily except it passes through both Chambers of the National Assembly with a simple majority vote. The reason being that INEC is an independent body based on the law that set it up. When you being a Candidate fix a date for election just because you want to perfect your rigging machinery or for the eligibility case against your main Challenger to be concluded, then it means you have usurped the powers of the Independent Electoral Umpire. Nigerians will resist this.
Not the ones who are yet to collect their PVCs. INEC has no right to disenfranchise anyone.

Listen; Jonathan is the best candidate, I also endorse him. What is Osibanjo doing as a running mate with Buhari a muslim. It is a slap on God's face. The APC'S PLAN IS TO ISLAMISE NIGERIA AND GOD WON'T ALLOW IT. JONATHAN IS DOING WELL BUT HE HAS BAD PEOPLE AROUND HIM DISCREDITING HIS ACHIEVEMENTS. I AM HAPPY THE CHRISTIAN LEADERS ENDORSED JONATHAN.

AS FOR PRIVATE JETS, IT IS GOD'S DESIRE THAT ALL CHRISTIAN LEADERS HAVE ONE FOR THE WORK OF THE MINISTRY. THERE IS NO WAY TO EFFECTIVELY SPREAD THE GOSPEL WITHOUT OWNING ONE ESPECIALLY IF A MINISTRY ENTAILS FREQUENT TRAVELLING.

THOSE PEOPLE CANVASSING THAT PASTORS SHOULD NOT OWN JETS. JETS ARE LIKE INTERNATIONAL CARS. THE POOR WILL NEVER BE SATISFIED EVEN IF YOU FEED THEM EVERYDAY. TELLING A PASTOR TO SELL HIS JET AND GIVE HIS MONEY TO THE POOR IS LIKE TELLING YOU TO SELL YOUR CAR AND GIVE THE MONEY TO THE POOR AND START TREKKING. P. JET IS A NECESSITY NOT A LUXURY.

Of course they are an independent body yet they can't disqualify a candidate that can't provide basic constitutional requirement for contesting for the office of the president. You guys are so funny.
But thats my point! INEC has lost its voice.
How am I being funny?

I would prefer the election to go as planned on the 14nth so some people will shut up permanently in this country but if it is to save lives and conduct a more credible election, then ba masalah. I know why APC supporters are scared, their mallam might be disqualified if the date is postponed. Well that is what you get for providing a half backed certificate forger promoted by Northern oligachy. Hahahahahahahaha. Una never c anytn sef.
na u wan disqualified my incumbent incoming president?d case that have not even started,or u want to postpone d election till 2017,when d certificate issue wil be resolve.gej must hand-over to buhari on may 29th 2015.

Whether election takes place tomorrow or April, the Democracy day is still 29 May. Surely, GEJ wil go back to otuoke to visit his people from time to time as he sees to tha affairs of Nigerians as the president. But Buhari should be ready to join his ancestors properly on FailBuhari 14

the truth is that everyone cant collect pvc before the elections. Even if elections is move to 2019, I doubt inec would have 80% pvc collection rate

Even if they shift the polls to 2056, what will happen will happen. It is better we do it now and get it over it jawe.

One is tired of these games they are playing. Let's just know where our future lies as a country within d next Fortnight. Except DR GEJ was deceiving d U.S
Sec of State, J Kerry, about d importance of May 29; d elections must hold as scheduled.

Enough of dis suspense biko. Except someone somewhere is scared of it's outcome sha.

Jonathan is playing with fire. In his desperation to cling to power he is ready to turn Nigeria into another Rwanda.
Funny thing is that delaying the election would only bring more people to the side of the General, Buhari. This goes a long way to show what I've suspected all along.... Jonathan has bad advisers. He is a Macbeth in the making...

We are against postponing the elections.

But we must ask ourselves some questions that will help us in the future and take the less risky path.

1)Is INEC ready? Can they get ready within this few days?
2)What is the state of security preparedness?
3)Do 90% of registered voters have their PVC
4)What are the legal loopholes that people may use to derail the electoral process if election holds
is our current situation
5)Is there really tension between both candidates supporters that could exercabe the situation peradventure
one loses.
6)Are there 3rd columnist taking advantage of the acrimony between both camps to derail the process.

in my liltle corner though I support GEJ, I will refrain from using abusive and sensitive words,i will not support any ethnic or religious statements capable of causing further violence.

We just want progress and change of our current system which no one man can change but the collective.

bushdoc9919:

Postponing the election won't stop the violence.

Not when there are millions of Nigerians who think that their crumb supply would be in jeopardy, whichever of their Maters loses.

The only thing that may mitigate violence is if a third party wins. But....that is not going to happen.

All that is left is for the idea that ''if your son does not get to Abuja, no development for you'''to be removed from the average Nigerian's consciousness.
