Calculia: You like Jonathan think we are illiterates? If you have a phone that has internet, go to google and type "CORRUPTION". This is what comes out. cor·rup·tion This is from Google and it is international accepted. Why do you and your oga Jona want to redefine it, to suit your failures? In the synonyms, there is nothing like "stealing" or "thieving", either this president is actually dull or has no conscience. synonyms: dishonesty, unscrupulousness, double-dealing, fraud, fraudulence, misconduct, crime, criminality, wrongdoing; bribery, venality, extortion, profiteering, payola; informalgraft, grift, crookedness, sleaze 1 Like |

Frankiss44:Physical property are not the only things that can be stolen. Traffic Warden demanding money for an offense = Stealing. The person who committed the offense deserves punishment. The traffic warden does not deserve the money he asked for but he used his office to still from the person. Stealing. The teacher demanding money to upgrade scores = Stealing. He does not deserve the hard earned money from the parent but abuses his office to steal (corruption) from the parent. Lecturer demanding body pleasures for grades = Stealing. He is robbing(Stealing) the girls pride and dignity for his personal gain (Corruption). |

This A-p-shit prof is so annoying. Is high time we started questioning his professorship, it might be just as Buhari's certificate. While other pastors are in the church praying for souls, he is busy touring the whole country to become vice president. Jesus Christ once said "Give unto cesar what belongs to cesar". Meaning, pastor LEAVE POLITICS TO POLITICIANS! 1 Like |

Many people in support of the president who are not illiterates have no shame to know the president was wrong but will never accept that he is. PDP supporters who are quick to call someone an illiterate are actually illiterates themselves. 1 Like |

“Over 70 percent of what are called corruption, even by EFCC (Economic and Financial Crimes Commission) and other anti-corruption agencies is not corruption, but common stealing. Corruption is perception, not reality,” the President said during his 7th Presidential Media Chat on Sunday. |

thegoodjoehunt3: Neither me, GEJ, Osinbajo or you invent English and cannot add a new definition or synonym to English. The definition of corruption is standard and i quote "dishonest or fraudulent conduct by those in power, typically involving bribery." That is what English says not what you, me or GEJ say it is. Get that! |

adanny01:Does that mean we can not understand and break it down? I read the definition and broke it down. Corruption = Abuse of power for personal gains. That is what reading and understanding is about. After reading the definition, you have a right to understand it. |

Popemax:you guys are just defending your paymaster blindly, The question is what is corruption since your Clueless president said Stealing, Thievery etc are not corruption. |
Re: Prof. Osinbajo Blast Jonathan After Presidential Media Chat by adanny01(m): 10:11am On Feb 12, 2015 |
thegoodjoehunt3: Any break down leads you to synonyms. Thats their use to help you break it down. You have an example stated as well. When you link stealing in to it when it is not in the synonyms, that is not English accepted because you have gone out of context of the word corruption. Other dictionaries will also not go out of context. Google gives you the most accepted definition. This is what http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/corruption says corruption noun cor·rup·tion \kə-ˈrəp-shən\ : dishonest or illegal behavior especially by powerful people (such as government officials or police officers) : the act of corrupting someone or something : something that has been changed from its original form The last definition indicts Jonathan for corrupting the definition of the word "corruption". I wouldnt be wrong to say GEJ is corrupt even if he didn't commit fraud. |

adanny01: dishonest or fraudulent conduct by those in power, typically involving bribery." That is the definition you put up, is fraud not a form of stealing? You can not disassociate stealing from Corruption. Can you give an instance of someone being corrupt without stealing something? That is gaining something that is not rightfully his. |

adanny01:dishonest or fraudulent conduct by those in power, typically involving bribery." = Corruption. Let us break down your definition of corruption. 1. Dishonest or fraudulent. 2. In Power. The bribery listed there is for clarification. No a government official stealing, is he 1. Dishonest and fraudulent? Yes. 2. Is he in power? Yes. So how can GEJ say stealing is not Corruption? |

thegoodjoehunt3: Dont you have Google to find out for yourself, haba! You are on the Internet right now but you cant check a definition for yourself. You are doing a great disservice to yourself and the nation if you cant verify a simple thing like a definition. The dictionary or Google has a lot of synonyms which stealing isn't one. If you want it added, i cant do that for you, send an appeal to OED (Oxford English Dictionary) with proof of why it needs to be added. Google is your friend my brother. 1 Like |

Before you say anything, first have it in mind that this man is a professor of law, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and a former Chief Justice of a state such as Lagos. It is stupid to insinuate that he wouldn't know the correct definition of 'Corruption'. He said when a political office holder steals, it's termed corruption and that's full stop! |

thegoodjoehunt3: Rubbish... Maybe I should start by defining what stealing is for you to get a grand understanding of both.... Stealing: To take (another person's property) without permission or legal right and without intending to return it The teacher didnt steal from the parent rather the parent offered money to a corrupt teacher who fell for it... Same with the girl that decided to fall for the lecturer advances because she stands to gain something too.. Stealing is parasitic while corruption is symbiotic. How can you be stolen from yet you are enjoying the dividends of the act Stealing cant be beneficial to both parties, corruption is. Corruption has eaten way deeper into our society than stealing.. The average nigerian wants change but the average nigerian doesnt want to change. |
