100Cents:She thought the guy had to marry her because she got him a job. When you do good don't expect payment otherwise you'll be disappointed. |

By this story, the person I think is most to blame is actually the lady (your cousin?). I still cannot/will not blame her because Love s indeed blind, and I speak from experience. If you have dated anyone for up to 4 years, I believe you should know if it is leading anywhere. If you are dating a man that has a job, what can possibly be the excuse of not tying the knot with you? To be fair to the man, he must not marry your sister just because she helped him get a job, he should marry her because he wants and 'Loves' her. If you blame the guy for getting your cousin a parting gift as big as a range rover, you'll probably murder him if he gave her nothing... Finally, It's better to call of a marriage that will not last to prevent, beatings, infidelity and their consequences when you unfortunately go ahead with a marriage that wont work. |

simdam500: And it took him 11years to decide What does he have to say after wasting 11years of someone's life?...There's no justification for him o. |

wemmieslim: yes you don't have to sit on a chair for too long before you know if its comfortable or not Look at it from a positive angle... Its not about the time spent/wasted in the relationship. 11 years of love, hate, fun, joy, laughter and lesson learnt... Not a total waste.... Marriage is no price to be won with how long one endures She can get married in 12 months time and live a "happily ever after life" or on the second hand they can go ahead with their marriage and struggle for 5 years and finally divorce.. Life is a mystery and there is no hard and fast rule about what works and how it works 1 Like |

Your cousin is turning 32 this year and they started dating after NYSC which means your cousin was 21 years during NYSC and when she started dating the guy. I find this hard to believe. All girls think about after graduation is marriage. Nice Script though. I will call Peter Jackson. |

favoured234: Hmm....good point u made, but 11years seems like a life time to me,that's a decade, and it looks scary, most of the stories I read just makes relationship and marriage terrifying, and yes,I am scared cos if I get so attached to someone for that long,I don't think I might be able to let go......I just pray God help d lady in question and help her to grasp reality to let go and move on,its hard mhen, only God can help her,am wishing her all the best in life!! 1 Like |

mikketech:Is that the best you can do? Lmao, the joke is on you because I'm none of those things. I'm young and beautiful and my idea of life isn't about being a liability to anyone or taking short cuts to success but you on the other hand is likely to be a wife beater, an abuser if your first response to the opinion of a female of no social or blood relationship with you is an aggressive shut up, and calling her trash. Barbarian! babamadiba:Hmmmm... May God help us. |

LadyX: I had a roommate who was running a sandwich program ,she kept on saying she has been with her husband for 22 yrs now ,dat was last year (2014). I was surprised cos dis woman obviously isn't up to 40, she den explained dat she started dating him while in secondary school, den she went to the same university wit him, so dey dated a total of 12 yrs n have been married for 10 yrs . Right now she's so happy ,cos her husband is well to do and treats her like a queen . But its different stroke for different folks, wat worked for her may not work for someone. 1 Like |

sweettease:Sun does not shine at night. Until we hear from the guy,I will not pass blame but I can guess. It might be that after helping the guy got a job she felt he was hers forever and started misbehaving like having affairs, socialising with top guys in their industry, keeping late nights, going to unreal conferences, becoming lazy and bossy, not cooking and keeping home. She was doing these and enjoying her life with the air he was hers for and that is why 11yrs passed with out her knowing,if not she would have tied him down in the first 1-3years with marriage or pregnancy. No real man will take it. There's no smoke without fire. |

Dear Nairalanders, I have a similar case in my family-my husband's younger brother who is in his early forties, have been in a relationship with this babe for 14yrs now(not kidding) without marrying themselves-infact they're 'live- in -lovers'.they live together,do what married couples do-yet not legally married-worse-off,my brother-in-law has been receiving the lashing and heat for everyone that wishes him well to either do the needful or allow the lady to go her way-his response has always been- 'I will marry her soon'. Unfortunately, the lady has never 'taken in'all these years. To me I feel both of them are fooling themselves.in the end the lady might be the looser-cos the guy will easily go for 'a sweet sixteen'. Bottom line-avoid long courtship. |

[size=14pt]This story is not complete... so wait.. you people were blackmailing him with marriage as a perquisite for a high paying job? and am sorry... why are you of the myopic opinion that your sister made the man! (see thinking), so when she was making him by getting him a shell job, why did she not make herself too, since she is now the maker of men... abegi.... this story is one-sided and blatant nonsense!
