Getting treatment for cancer is an ongoing process in which the total cost of cancer treatment should be factored in for years to come ahead as well. People would unanimously agree to one of the basic fact that the cost of cancer treatment in India is highly affordable compared to other countries in the world. This cost of cancer treatment in India also includes the medications that are exorbitantly expensive in other parts of the world and are out of reach to majority of the patients.

When we talk about the cost of cancer treatment in India we are including the cost of chemotherapy, surgeries and other secondary cost i.e. the medications themselves. Because once treated for cancer some of the medications continue for many years.

For example a course of chemotherapy can last upto a week and two. And can be repeated also. Hence, the stay in India for cancer treatment is calculated between 3 - 4 weeks. The cost for a neat and clean B&B or a regular guest house can be between $30 - $75 per day

Also it is important to note that in most cases the cancer treatment would be a day care procedure.

Cost of travelling within India

Usually the travel cost during stay in India for cancer treatment in India will be minimal since the accommodation in most cases is provided near to the hospitals. This cuts down on travel time and also the total cost of cancer treatment in India. The total cost of travelling can thus be calculated to be around $250. This is for travel within the city and not for outside the city. In rare cases do the patients travel outside the city to other places for recreation and holiday purpose.
