Djokovic retires as Roddick progresses to the semi. What happened to Del Potro? At least he didn't retire like . . . Didn't see the match, but dang! 6-3, 6-0, 6-0. I wonder how Roddick would be feeling. |

Saw the last two sets of the Fed DelPo match . . . it was a training session. A clinic for up and coming tennis upstarts . . . the message was clear - simply bashing the ball back at 100miles/hr is not the way to win a slam. Cilic, Ferrer, Gonzalez take note. |

Re: Australian Open 2009 - Men by shadyBaba: 4:32pm On Jan 28, 2009 |
ask del potro and he'll tell u to "ask federer what happened". he said that for real, getting a player spanked like that should show yu the potential of the new fed express. i really hope to see a federer nadal showdown in the finale. |

Re: Australian Open 2009 - Men by Nobody: 11:57am On Jan 30, 2009 |
Verdasco's taken the first set off Nadal, and is battling for the second as well.Tied 4-all. Nadal looks shockingly off-key today. |
Re: Australian Open 2009 - Men by RuuDie(m): 1:12pm On Jan 30, 2009 |
well. . . . . nadal's taken set 2 and they're both tied on 6 all in set 3. . . . . . c'mon Nadal |
Re: Australian Open 2009 - Men by RuuDie(m): 1:14pm On Jan 30, 2009 |
Geeeez. . . . . Verdasco's hitting 'em big ones like its his birthright - ace number 12 at 211kmph - gosh, this guy should be doing the short-put not tennis! |
Re: Australian Open 2009 - Men by RuuDie(m): 1:30pm On Jan 30, 2009 |
Pheeeeeeeew Nadal's taken set 3 in tie break. . . . . . set 4 is on the way - seems to me this is the first set Nadal's dropped all tourney long or not so |
Re: Australian Open 2009 - Men by RuuDie(m): 1:34pm On Jan 30, 2009 |
Verdasco seems 2 have some problems with his hip. . . . . just retire old man! |
Re: Australian Open 2009 - Men by RuuDie(m): 2:07pm On Jan 30, 2009 |
oh man. . . . . verdasco's up in the 4th set. . . . 6-5 - he's threatening to take it to the distance! |
Re: Australian Open 2009 - Men by RuuDie(m): 2:08pm On Jan 30, 2009 |
oh my word. . . . . this is exhilarating stuff! Nadal fights back and breaks Verda - 6 all - we're into another marathon round of tie-break. . . . . . C'mon Nadal, win this and go get some rest 4 d big 1! |
Re: Australian Open 2009 - Men by RuuDie(m): 2:19pm On Jan 30, 2009 |
And they head into set 5. . . . . . this is a marathon! Verdasco wins set 4 at the death, he absolutely blew past Nadal like he wasn't there! |
Re: Australian Open 2009 - Men by tkb417(m): 2:20pm On Jan 30, 2009 |
this Verdasco guy is a monster!!! too much power first of the last set goes to Nadal. lets see, this is one of the most interesting recently |
Re: Australian Open 2009 - Men by binhozie(m): 2:22pm On Jan 30, 2009 |
Damn this poncho verdasco just wont lie down! |
Re: Australian Open 2009 - Men by binhozie(m): 2:28pm On Jan 30, 2009 |
I dunno if verdasco can go past fed if he gets into d finals. I dont just trust him. I'd prefer a Nadal - Fed final. And by d way, this guy has a very dangerous serve! o: |
Re: Australian Open 2009 - Men by binhozie(m): 2:33pm On Jan 30, 2009 |
Fed must be shivering whereva he is at d moment. He seems to have lost a huge chunk of his confidence. Fed fans just have to live wid dat |

Re: Australian Open 2009 - Men by Nobody: 4:32pm On Jan 30, 2009 |
If you missed this game you havent watched the AO this 2009! fireworks!!! |
Re: Australian Open 2009 - Men by Nobody: 4:34pm On Jan 30, 2009 |
binhozie: Lefty wide serve to deuce court is one of the most dangerous advantages a leftie has over a rightie. binhozie: Fed shivering? He'd be beside himself with joy . . . how better to prepare for a match with Nadal than to have him play a 5hr tiring match less than 48hrs to the final. I'm a massive Nadal fan but you gotta give this to Fed . . . hardcourt plus being much fresher. |
Re: Australian Open 2009 - Men by montelik(m): 6:35pm On Jan 30, 2009 |
why did verdasco just fall to pieces at 6-5 in d fifth set.i mean he had been so solid on serve all game.only to start double faulting at that moment.anyways federer should beat nadal so long as he keeps playing d way he has all tournament (except those first 2 sets against berdych).nadal can take his captain caveman act (persistently clubbing back at his opponents) to d french open and win there |
Re: Australian Open 2009 - Men by dayokanu(m): 7:25pm On Jan 30, 2009 |
Another Nada Federer final. I remain with the Federer express |
Re: Australian Open 2009 - Men by Nobody: 8:06pm On Jan 30, 2009 |
My heart says Nadal . . . with this he would have won GSs on all surfaces. But my head says Federer . |
