He can't buy it. I'm not sure he's ready for the public scrutiny that'll follow. The world will get in on Dangote's dealings not only for accountability but also racism. A cub with a rich English history all of a sudden taken over by an African. The questions, the ridicule will be bad PR for arsenal. All those "how did he become so rich in a nation with so many poor people?" "He's extorting his people, why are cement prices so high over there" "he has used his connections in government to get away with unscrupulous practices" "if he has that much money how come he's not using it to help his country people" etc. Dangote will spend more time defending himself than anything else. They'll find every way to justify it not happening without necessarily saying "we won't let an African own arsenal"

Any chance of that happening, we really need to clean the image of Nigeria. Nigeria has to be seen as a prosperous nation.

Usmanov has 30% stake in Arsenal and he has a criminal record. And still has a case pending in court. Roman Abramovich was once indicted in court.

Mohammed Faye who used to own Fulham was indicted in the queen Deila bullshiiit.

The Brits don't care about how you get your money once it benefits their bankrupt kingdom.

Besides, it is left to Kroenke and Usmanov to decide if they want to sell or not. However, it will be difficult. Dangote should have been mopping up shares from small shareholders like Usmanov has been doing.

To be successful in a bid now, he has to pay say $3bn which will be 2 times more than the stock market value of the club but that shouldn't be a problem for a man worth close to $16 billion.

I for one want him to buy Arsenal or have major share in the company. Send Kroenke packing.

The way some people reason just leaves on wondering where they were when brains were being given to people. Does he need to buy or sponsor any local club for him to acquire any elsewhere. Is that a criteria in the english FA??

Dangote is a businessman and reserves the right to invest his money where it pleases him. Had the major shareholders agreed to sell their stake, he would have been the owner of the club today and there would have been nothing you or a billion of your kind could have done about it.
Bros no b quarrel. Jeje abeg. Dangote and arsenal no sabi any of us

You won't even support Hull or Sunderland as a fan, yet you want someone to buy it. Would you rather buy Hull City or Arsenal if you have the money?

Why should he buy Hull City and or Sunderland? What do these two have to offer him?

What's their global rating? What's the capacity of their stadiums? Buying Hull City or Sunderland is akin to starting a business afresh for someone like dangote and a good business man, buys a business not start one hence you see Google buying up considerably big businesses over.

With TV money increasing and champions league money not looking like abating soon, buying a small club will take him almost forever to catch up ( not dominate but catch up).

When Hull city and co are busy getting commercial deals worth 5m for say 6 years, Arsenal and co are getting same for over 30m per year. Reason? They are a global brand. Plus he is a fan of Arsenal.

Fulham used to be owned by Mohammed Faye an Egyptian, Cardiff is known by an Asian, same as Man city, the Brit and Russia are political rivals, Abramovich is Russian.

The Brit don't give a hoot just invest in their land and you are fine.

I bet if he owns it, he would definitely chart a new course for the team.
You are not only nervous, you pray too grin grin. I think they have done well this season but they need to consolidate on this by aiming the EPL title next season though it looks like a mirage grin
who wouldn't support his own? that's d whole idea. Do u no how many portugese support madrid cause of ronaldo? Do u no how many welsh support madrid cause of gareth bale? Do u no how many south koreans supported ManU cos of kim jun pak? e.t.c. Are u also aware that kanu is one of d reasons arsenals popularity grew here in nigeria? Or tell me u didn't like bolton winning when jay jay was there. Its good 4 dangote anyhow but that money would have better helped our local league

Educate yourself, it doesn't cost much to do so. If you had read the article or done some simple research you would have known Arsenal is worth just $1.49 billion and Dangote is worth $15 billion.

He is richer than the two majority shareholders combined.

Dangote is richer than the glazers family that owns man utd

Make no mistakes about this, Dangote may be incapable to bring out that amount (1.2 billion pounds) to purchase a club like Manchester United.

The bulk of his worth released in that magazine isn't in liquid cash methinks.

Err... Duh.

Which football league in Africa is half as profitable as the EPL? Businessmen are all about their returns, they are not charities. An investment in the EPL makes more business sense than buying an African club.

BTW why didn't you raise this concern when Abromavich bought Chelsea, why didn't you tell him to buy up a Russian team?
