Yes. Read through my last paragraph.

I still don't see any conclusive ending. I partcularly loved your presentation, the flow and all but the ending was neither heree nor there. I would have loved to see a stronger conclusion in your linee of argument.

I'd like to weigh in here...

you must understand that political vendetta only exist between the politicians themselves. The voters care less. All the voters are interested in are a better life for themselves and their families.

And they'll vote for a party that promises them that no matter the evil in the politician/party's heart.

That's the reality we find ourselves in today. Blame it on illiteracy.

Democracy cannot succeed unless those who express their choice are prepared to choose wisely. The real safeguard of democracy, therefore, is education. - Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Maybe we didn't choose wisely in the last election but we made a choice. And we'll have to live with it
yes sure. But u must knw that the main thing in democracy is d pple's choice, which proved out in the last election.

Thanks for the point raised. But I want you to know that politics is a game. But aside that, the 2015 election voting pattern doesn't show that people voted with one voice. There is no denying the fact the votings were carried out based on religion, ethnic and region. Never before had Nigerians been satisfied with any part.; but the party would always get its way if it stays within the rule of the game.

All said and done, if we all could remember that during the presidential debate, it was glaring that parties like KOWA had the best if intentions for our dear country. But utmost rivalry made most of the electorate blind to this future.

Many will still argue that it wasn't free and fair.

Secondly, the results showed that there were a lot of personal interests at play.

2015 election was arguably the freest and fairest election in Nigeria. If people will hide behind not being free and fair to argue "political vendetta", then maybe they shouldn't use 1999, 2003, 2007 and 2011 as examples of where there was similar outcomes in all the regions. Because it can be argued that those outcomes was due to electoral malpractices.

Sammyscholar, the paragraph above deals with the point you just raised too.

There will always be personal interests in politics. And that's always amongst the politicians. The masses also have their own interests. And most times the masses the masses unknowingly help the politicians achieve their selfish interest thinking they are actually progressing their (masses) interest.
However, these political shenanigans cannot invalidate the fact that the masses trooped out and casted their votes for whoever freely without coercion.

So the outcome of the election is still a reflection of the will of the people

it is not. and i ask you: if the rope that bounds pdp into accord had nt come loose, would they have suffered this defeated frontiered by thier own men that are now in the opposition party? we cannot talk about the 2015 general election without talking about how things began to fall apart in the pdp. you just want to take it from the head.

Maybe Not..

But you are missing the point.. The division in the PDP (the vendetta you are talking about here) is only a rope on which the masses believed they'll climb to the promise land.

To the politicians, it's vendetta. But to the masses, it's the road to the promise land.

Will you now say the masses votes weren't a reflection of their will?

You can never argue that.. Call it a stupid or ignorant will.

But it's still their will.

i still plead to differ. will, as used in the subject matter, according to oxford dictionary, is a mental faculty by which a person decides and control his/her actions. it is not what you are influenced to do. you will call it a will when people from the south south/east voted for pdp and those from north. for apc? we all know how the political parties deployed religion, ethnic and what have you into their politicking. a scenerio of where and when people "will" was seen was during the freedom match. nigerians, irrespective of tribe, religion, and ethnic spoke with one voice and their will was clearly seen. no one influenced them into fighting for what they want.

a special thanks to my able and resilient team mate, Darrytoz. the topic was so technical but we did not relent in giving it the best shot. it was indeed, a debate after debate. we had earlier slug it out between ourselves, trying to figure out how the topic would and should be tackled. darry would say "this way", and i would say "no! that way". but at the end, a common goal was achieved. to keenybst, you are too much. to all the polites, i echo a resounding 'ise logun ise!'. To the oau guys, i say Weldone. Your prowesses are indeed, great. thanks to you all.
