Lolz. This made me laugh. But jokes apart, if well-managed, this is a good development. Besides, as soon as the trainees arrive from training, I hope the government will provide them with credit facilities and the enabling environment to ply their trade. Not the government making public servants of them again o, Oshoko! You don't want another failed policy on your hands. Papambari re ni pe, there goes the Fountain of Knowledge! Fayose should better leave the new slogan alone and let history be history. Ndi Aba and Ndi Onitsha, Ndi Ekiti are coming to learn. Teach them well. 4 Likes |

Abagworo:You have what in common with who? Why must you bring Imo into this nonsense. If you are truly from Imo as you claimed then you should know that Imolites makes up the bulk of artisans and business men you find in Onitsha, Aba, Lagos and Kano. My own part of Orlu is more of an entrepreneurship heaven, don't know of your supposed Oguta. How many times have I warned you to refrain from bringinging Imo state out for public ridicule. I don't mind you discuss Ikwerreland (your maternal side) with Chino, but never you talk trash on issues you are less informed about. 2 Likes |

olabukola: Other side of these people?! Just look at you Didn't even know there's something -anything at all- to be learnt from these people. And who taught these people this same thing they struggled to learn themselves that you are coming to learn, and being mouthy about? What are you even going to teach these people if you're asked about your specialty, in return? Do you have anything at all, unique to you that they can learn in return just por favór? 3 Likes 1 Share |

disumusa: So as it stands you don't have those in your land?. Last time i checked Ekiti state is among the most educationally advanced states in Nigeria after Imo and Anambra States and that is why i believe they have great foresight. Moreover, they boast of the 2nd highest number of professors after Imo state. I know many will want to challenge that but that's not my point. What i'm trying to point out is that if they have indigenes so 'educated' that they spell like you, they may not consider sending those ones for apprenticeship as they are potential waste on investment. 6 Likes |

I laugh at the tribalism yorubas are displaying here , fayose is at the verge of making ekiti people the richest in Yoruba land in the nearest future. Let them humble themselves and learn. 11 Likes 1 Share |

That's good. I knw cities like Lagos,Aba,Onitsha and Kaduna have academies where ppl are trained 2 be skilled in d art of craftmanship. Ppl must understand we have bypasssed the industrial age ushering us into d age of technolgy so therefore, acquiring proffessional skills is d new jobs 4 dis 21st century. You must be competitive in whatever craft you specialise in. Germany is perfect example of skilled industrial country. They've been able 2 build academies that train ppl in various skills that are relevant in dis century. Skills like autotronics, weldering, mechanic automation etc. I understand Nigeria has an agency called d Industrial Training Institute (ITI) that have been training students in patnership with various companies 2 acquire d necessary skills needed 4 dis century, that's quite commendable of the ITI and I hope other state colloborates with d agency 2 equipp our youth with relevant skills 1 Like |

Macelliot: Best move? Have Abia and Anambra overthrown the rest of Nigeria? Don't you know business is a function of your environment? That a business is successful in Anambra is not a guarantee that same would be in Ekiti? Are there no Igbo from Anambra and Abia in Ekiti? It's a ridiculous nonsense that can only come from a FAYOSE. I am not surprised. Apprenticeship is not alien to Ekiti or any part of Nigeria for that matter. People learn to be mechanic, tailor etc and it's not uncommon for parents to teach their children their trade. Fayose is a disaster. 1 Like |

It's good but maybe this is also a plan to overtake Igbo's in areas they are currently excelling in by simply adding the additional element of gov backing in law and funding on top of Igbo trained artisans of Yoruba heritage. This backing is something the Igbo man is currently lacking. Is this to learn from Igbo's or to replace them ? 1 Like |

Macelliot: There is nothing tribalistic in my submission. Read about Germany and its unique apprenticeship system. I am not condemning apprenticeship or deriding it as something inferior. But it's pointless looking for solutions where none exist. Fayose will soon realize populism doesn't translate to competence. I hope someone will pick up the pieces after his tenure. 1 Like |
