Seriously, why is there such a strong negative correlation between looks and intelligence? me and my friends were arguing, and they said, extremely good looking people are dumb. they said people with average looks are normal, good looking people are okay, ugly people are really smart and extremely good looking people are dumb. I really want to hear people view on this. |

In the first place, "Extremely Good Looking" is a relative term because beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. Secondly, your post is based on "dem say, dem say" , implying that you have not met an "Extremely Good Looking" person before so you have no idea of what they told you. Finally, do you think it is possible for all "Extremely Good Looking" persons to be dumb? . If you believe them, then you will believe anything. |

Debatable, though you have a point. Now, what defines "extreme"? And what kind of INTELLIGENCE do we mean?: Nature given or acquired? High IQ can be bequeathed on ANY irrespective of ALLURE. But ACQUIRED INTELLIGENCE(street wisdom), I think has a bias for a certain strata. Now, just like the cliché -trouble builds character- runs true. So too, "over fineness" blunts intelligence. For whereas the ordinary mortals knowing their LIMITATIONS scrape 4 whatever will assuage the imbalance( read-acquire intelligence) The over fine ones never deign stoop to certain levels cos they're FAWNED over and believe they have "ALL". Now, what dyu give to somebody who has everything? Got the drift? |
