justwise: Thanks for the link.. I have read it extensively and it seems it was introduced barely 2 months ago and was for the Euro tunnel users and some water ports but I see nothing saying the Airports have been touched yet although the article suggests that it would be introduced after a while. So as of now, status quo remains. |

justwise:This has nothing to do with STAMPS. Stamps are an outdated and unnecessary technology. All that is required is that passports are run through machines, verified by the machine and that the machine keeps a record. THERE ARE NO EXIT STAMPS 1 Like |

omonnakoda: Why are you shouting? They don't need stamp to know when you left the UK because they get that from the airline anyway. |

I had promised I'll give keep you guys updated on events....It's taken a while though..but I'll go on to breifly explain how it all went. I retrieved all documents to show what I had come to do in nigeria in the said period, I also got my itinerary from the airline I had traveled with which was printed from their data base. I contacted a lawyer as suggested by some of you all who happened to be a close friend too. .. and wrote the embassy. Requesting for review of the decision on the basis of overwhelming evidence against the allegation...they pretty much threw it back at our face with the most important quote "This office no longer accepts direct requests for reviews of applications." Follow the link..blah blah blah.....for request On the side though...I had gone to the immigrations office...where I tabled my situation...I was lucky to have someone take it up.....my travel history was printed out from their data base and a letter written to that effect with all the supporting documents which they acknowledged. Few days later.....passport was returned with visa issued as requested. So I say thanks to all that advised and all that doubted as well.....thank for your support 5 Likes |

Good evening House, I resides in the UK, In November 2014, my wife applied for a settlement visa to come and join me in the UK at the time of the application, I was very convinced that we met all the immigration requirement because I took my time to make sure all the neccessary supporting evidences were enclosed as we have had 3 applications refused previously in 2011 (visitor visa), 2012 (Settlement visa) and 2013 (Visitor visa) for my graduation, this was just some month after our wedding which took in Nigeria. I know people will be wondering why we applied for a visitor visa but the reason was because I just graduated and was not earning up to £18600 (Minimum Income threshold). But I was surprised and when the application was refused and my wife 2 international passport was retained, One is cancelled and a valid one. It is worth noting that prior to the application in 2011, she had already applied for a UK visa which was refused but that has no connection with me at all and as you are all aware in the UK visa application form they do ask for the where about of old passport but she said to me that the passport is lost, so in all the other applications that were made from the aforementioned year (2011) we let the British high commission know that the passport is lost. What's more, the reasons for refusal are as follow; (1)RETENTION OF NIGERIAN PASSPORT NO A05******/A02***** The passport that you were intending to travel with, as detailed above, has been retained as we are not satisfied that the document satisfactorily establishes your identity and nationality, in view of the fact that you have previously applied for a UK visa using a different date of birth. Enquiries will be undertaken at this office and the document will be forwarded as soon as practically possible to the Nigerian Immigration Service in Abuja. The Nigerian Immigration Service will decide whether further action is required. In these cases, enquiries should be addressed to the address below: Comptroller General, NIS Document Fraud Unit Nigerian Immigration Service HQ ABUJA Yours sincerely Entry Clearance Manager UK Visas and Immigration (2) "The applicant did not provide a letter from her sponsor's employer with her application which confirms the sponsor's employment status and salary. With this application a letter dated 24 September 2014 has been submitted. This carries the letter head of XYZABC123 (my employer) but appears to be a photocopy. The letter carries the writer's name "Miss xxxxx Bleep" But has no signature. Consequently no employment letter is considered to have been provided. The applicant has therefore not provided the document required by Appendix FM-SE paragraph 2 (b). Facts The first reason for refusal was not true because my wife said she never use any other date of birth except real date of birth. And this fact was confirmed when will appeal and during review Entry Clearance Manager withdrew the first refusal but the problem now is that, The British high commission said to us that they have send my wife passport to the Nigeria immigration service in Abuja but she lives in Lagos that will should contact them. The advice i'm seeking now is that since they have admitted that the mistake was from their, are they not suppose to be the one to retrieve my wife passport from the Nigeria Immigration service since they send it to them. Please I need urgent advice and God bless Best Regards, Jimmy12 |

Please everyone, I need your help, I wrote the IELTS test last year and my wife and I later decided not to relocate to the uk, now I want to apply for a standard visit visa and I do not know if I should mention it in my application that I wrote the spouse settlement English test IELTS last year but my wife decided not to relocate back to the uk, because she got a better job offer here as an expertrate, therefore I didn't have any need for the IELTS test result, or should I just skip this part on my application ? I don't want them thinking I'm running because I'm clearly not. |

MadCow1: I don't know how people assume that such moves do work. For crying out loud, there is this thing called boarding pass. Passport are needed for one to get boarding pass. So how can u back date your arrival when the exact departure date has already been stored on the system with your passport info? Even without departure stamp.... Na waa.ooh. Op I don't know about other countries but Spain, Germany and France do stamp departure on Passport. First hand info |

The truth is, no country is perfect. I have a friend who visited the UK for less than a month and departed more six months later he started getting emails from the UK authorities advising him to leave the UK for "overstaying" even though he returned to Nigeria only after less than a month. Again I had a case with the US embassy. I was barred for life and accused of human smuggling. In December 2014 I travelled to the US with my family and we departed the US in January 2015. I travelled again in 2016 and renewed my visa but in 2018, I will accused of not returning with my child in 2014 even though we all returned in January 2015. I fought the wrong finding with evidence of the 2015 departure and the bar was revoked. So, its clear these guys also make mistakes. They are humans after all. ZUBY77: |

I think i have something to say here. Most of the time, i always watch and read posts only. Getting those documents like previous travel tickets, calling or contacting NIS(Nigeria Immigration Service), getting Police Clearance etc, cannot solve the issue. I am sure these person has been banned already, i mean, he must have been banned together with the passport seizure by the British Embassy. These events has been unfolding for a while now, not very long, i think the UK embassy started these crazy steps late last year. Such happened to someone too. She and her husband are frequent travellers to the UK, and already had two years on their passport. I applied for their renewal but seperately. We applied first for the wife, then later the husband's. Unfortunately there was a delay of more than a month before the consular took a decision and withheld her old passport which contains the UK visas. Then they released the new passport she attached to it. She was also banned for ten years, with an option to appeal. Several applicants were also banned even elderly people and very rich people. We met them @ the VFS at Ikeja complaining about their passport seizure and ban. One VFS officer told us its a new crazy trend by the UK embassy. so i was really sad and started making deep enquiries. It was later that she told me the truth that actually she applied to spend 3 weeks in London, but everytime she spends more than that, she used to tip the Immigration officers @ the airport with some dollar so as to back stamp the date for her! I immediately cancel her husband's appointment & applied for his refund. So if you are among those people that do back stamp @ d airport, well you are most likely to face such dilema. just forget your passport!Just imagine. Wonderful. They feel or think that UK is a nonsense country |
