Qualifications but I can assure u that the answer is
7, anything outside 7 is wrong...this is far the simplest maths
anybody can tackle I wonder why it's such a big deal here

Hmmm, interesting.
This thread clearly slows why the fail rate for maths in Waec is low. I don't blame the people who think it's 5, I blame our primary education system.
The answer indisputably is 7, anyone saying otherwise really needs extra lessons as this is basic primary school maths...
Principle:
Multiplication and division have equal precedence as does addition and subtraction, so when you have an equation with either addition and subtraction you work from left to right, same as with multiplication and division.

it is only multiplication that can change the sign of any number or probably has a higher negative and a lower positive when doing ur addition and subtraction
it can only be -1 if it is something like
-1 x +1 = -1

But when you have an expression like this containing only addition and subtraction you should solve from LEFT TO RIGHT.

Therefore

6 - 0 = 6

Using bodmas, calculator or computer you will see that the answer is 7
(our maths in Nigeria is really poor )

You guys should stop saying 7, 3, 1, 0... 6-1*0+2÷2... According to BODMAS... 2÷2=1... -1*0= -0... therefore, 6-0+1... -0+1= -1... Finally, 6-1=5... Qed

Failed. The answer is 7, not 5.

So many Nigerian graduates have heard of BODMAS but they don't know how to use it. Any answer more or less than 7 is mathematically wrong. I knew this rule before JSS11.
