If the VP, Osinbajo could attend, the governors goofed this time around. They should drop their ego and stop being emperors. Yes the king has kicked the bucket and buried but the throne is still sacred. Regards should be given to the throne if Ooni as a person didnt deserve it |

I AM WAITING FOR THE DAY HIS WIFE WILL SHOUT GREAT NIGERIANS, SHE WON'T, NOT AFTER NATIONAL CONFERENCE WINDFALL WITH ITS KICK BACKS. NOT WITH CAMPAIGN ALLOCATION. ACTIVISM IS DEAD IN ODUMAKIN'S HOME. “If they carried politics into that, then their action is sacrilegious and a great disrespect to Oduduwa , who is the progenitor of the Yoruba race,” Odumakin said. Odumakin, I pray you will not die from excessive secretion of bile. I have never met a more bitter man. I am no big fan of most of the APC governors but your hypocrisy disgusts me. Where where you when same Ooni was playing traditional adviser to PDP? Must you see everything through the prism of Tinubu? Tinubu has his faults but rendering Afinifere and the band of old senile men irrelevant in the scheme of things was one epic blow. |

thamarvelz:But these days obas and emirs and obis and ezes all dabble into politics/government related businesses. Times have changed bro, the reality of the times. They just have to or they may be labeled insensitive and nonchalant. But of course most Yorubas hated their obas for supporting GEJ because of wateva reasons (the dollar rain claim is still just that - claims, and unsubstantiated ones at that meanwhile the obas gave a very good reason after their inner circle meetings which was that they felt GEJ wud implement the outcomes of the National Conference. This is the same reason I supported GEJ Cos that is really the panacea to our problems as a nation. Now the same recommendations of the NC is what the north has touted to be anti north and has been scrapped by Buhari. It's a shame really that many Yorubas played into the hands of the north. Quote me in a decade's time or less but without the reconfiguration of the settings of this entity called Nigeria, we'll just be taking one step forward and 3 back! 1 Like |

247notire: I am not sure of that. There are yorubas who felt embarrassed by Oba Akiolu's conduct. Jonathan had no intentions of implementing anything. He was just playing politics. The man has no backbone to tackle lesser issues. How much more restructuring. 7 Likes 1 Share |

He was irrelevant to them and lot of people when he was alive, so what's the point of wasting their crocodile tears. They made the right call, though a little disrespectful. |

These guys in APC are extremists, and are no different from Bokoharam. So simply because someone is a supporter/member of PDP, he is evil and deserves no respect whether dead or alive? And when the same person switches to APC, he automatically becomes a saint? What manner of people are these? How can we rationalize this madness? I recall that when Ojukwu died, his people united across political divide and gave him a befitting burial in spite of the fact that he was the leader of APGA before his death. Smh! 2 Likes |

Truth be told, THE LATE OONI WAS A SABOTUER. HE WAS AN AGIP, A KOWOPE(MONEY MUST COMPLETE) KING. All that mattered to him was contracts and political patronage. The dude could sell the whole Nigeria to highest bidder. They say we should not speak ill of the dead, therefore, I reserve my comment. I don't want to bash the late 1 Like |

anigbajumo:You guys and mis-information. You Make it appear as if GEJ got zero votes in the southwest. Far from it my dear, he got over 40% votes in the southwest. Among that 40% are millions of yorubas, who had valid and genuine reasons for casting the votes for GEJ 1 Like |

mbulela:Now that is a very fallacious statement cos u have no way of knw lowing that he would not. If ur a keen observer u won't say this. He was likely going to implement and this is same reason most northerners were seriously against him cos they all knew they wud be the biggest and sorest loosers if it dare hapnd. My Yoruba peeps that were unconsciously used to actually the northern agenda shud have seen the handwriting on the wall by now. It's a real pity. |

Sincere9gerian: Yes. APGA preferred paying for his funeral expenses instead of his hospital bills. If you must know, his hospital bills were paid by Mike Adenuga, a Yoruba man. You better not let petty politics and tribalism warp your thinking. 6 Likes 1 Share |

neocortex:DON'T Get it twisted it's not the throne that is the issue, it's the guy that was on the throne. The late king betrayed the Yorubas and continued on the same path till he gave up the ghost. So what were you expecting a burial like princess Diana or Grace Kelly. 1 Like |
