otokx:nobody is being homophobic here, unles u want to tell me fighting for ur right amount to being xenophobic. She is complaining about the harsh work condition. We all know employers try to exploits but when it is done in an inhumane or uncivilized way it is slavery. Mind u, Nigerians have numerous outsourcing companies and interestingly Mctay was one of such but MTN terminated their contract to give way for the Indian firm just because dy want to reduce cost. Lastly pls be honest can any nigerian firm go to indian and treat its staffs down there as indians treat their staffs here? 2 Likes |

D problem I see wit mayfair ccr is dat they only know how to complain without action..when d new contract came with extended working hours, they were already trying to impress deir new slavemasters, prolly after some days feelin the harsh effect on deir body they decided to voice out...but not for once did dey stand up as 1 to refuse work by not login'ing in protest...they work like jackie then come online to vent deir anger..them don force some of us resign,so even if you guys are lucky to have d hours reduced..it has no benefit to us cos I see no possibility of dem calling us back..the 1st step to solidarity is tools down and not trying to play victims here.. 2 Likes |

pasword:for security purposes, i think she's trying to play safe, obviously this not her only id on nairaland. This is everywhere in Nigeria really, and its really disturbing . Have you seen a graduate earning below #50k , and spends #35k on transportation alone, how long will the graduate meet up with his/her peers. I believe this is what APC should visit, #IamBuhari, pls this suffering is too much on our own soil. Some of us wish to wake up in Europe or America due to the harsh moments we face. #SlaveryMustStop |

yinchar: If the Nigerian government refuses to do what it should then why antagonize the Indians who are paying their taxes and doing their business. Our NCC is nothing to write home about, they fine the telcos and pocket the money instead of asking the telcos to compensate their active subscribers. The problem is not the Indians no it is us the Nigerians who do not hold our government accountable. |

Op I have some questions for you Where were you and what did you do when ur fellow ccr in jos call centre were enslaved by Cnssl and were paid 34k and the rest of you were earning 82k? Where were you and what did you guys do when ur fellow ccr in jos call centre went on strike n asked for ur solidarity so as to harmonize the pay package of all call centres? Where were you and what did you guys do when ur fellow ccr in jos call centre went on social, mass and print media to air this unjustice? Where were you and what did you guys do when ur fellow ccr in jos call centre when over 1800 ccrs lost their jobs over night because the tried to fight for their rights? You guys did nothing bcause you were under the umbrella of MEMCOS and you felt it was none of your business, now the table has turned u r crying wolf. As the saying goes “ a stitch in time saves nine”, if you guess had stood up then with you fellow ccrs things wouldn’t be like this today. You made your bed so ley on it 1 Like |

Journalists in the house, please investigate the OP's claim and publish it. Also, l propose the creation of a thread titled WORK PLACE SLAVERY IN NIGERIA where everyone will be able to state his experience. Hopefully, the matter will get to the attention of the government and this new dispensation will take necessary action. I was compiling a report on the slavery in Sango Ota where lndians own 90% of the companies and make people (graduates inclusive) work under inhuman conditions for 12 hours daily sometimes till Sunday morning for N750 daily but the journalist l was working with (we met here) was unserious. Nigeria will not be better only by mere wishes, let's learn to take our destiny in our hands. |
