I was only replying to some who think cooking is regarded as a role for African women - like the men force them to do it, or they cook to make their men happy.

That wasnt what I was implying and you know it unless you can show me who these "some" are that you were directing the comments towards.  I said if you learn, your son will wanna learn. Then the beat goes on. Nothing wrong with learning new things abi? You decided to make assumptions instead, na your own business be that. Like I said before, nevermind.

ANYWAY

Do they still show Maggi Cooking competitions in Naija? I used to see those when i was in secondary school. men and women trying to outdo each other. Hilarious. cheesy

I mean if I can't cook for him. . . what is my usefulness?

Well maybe my laundry and foot massaging skills.

That is what distinguish a man from a boy

To the man who brags about his cooking, does that mean that is all he is good 4? undecided

However, a man willing to teach his woman to cook instead of reprimanding her for her lack of cooking skills has a lot to be said about.

I agree with you family is a team and in a team you have division of labour or call it roles and responsibilities. Some women would not even allow another person touch their pots of stew! Just like normal man would feel relegated if the wife pays the rent or children school fees, African woman would want to be able to take care of her home.

sisijinx was being sarcastic

@topic

i agree with sistawoman no roles in the house
i believe each person should do what he/she enjoys doing or can do best
if my hubby cooks better than me but his work schedule is not as flexible as mine then as team i expect that we work something out

What's important is that my family eats great meals
Re: Cooking Competition? by otukpo(f): 9:18am On Apr 03, 2009
I dont think a man should be bragging abt it to the wife, he can tease her though.

A woman shld also be happy that the husband can cook well at leaset, he can be relieving her in the kitchen atimes.

Re: Cooking Competition? by kritikul(f): 12:16pm On Apr 03, 2009
If my husband cooks better than i do, i will make him cook most cook most of the time pretending to enjoy his food while discovering his secrets. Afterwords, I will go enroll for cooking lessons. By the time i combine my skills and the ones i learnt from him, he will bow out. cool
Re: Cooking Competition? by royalicon(m): 12:37pm On Apr 03, 2009
Man in the house, If your wife cannot cook, pls send her to catering school, else hunder will kill you or have effect on you at old age when u can no longer do the cooking.
