Quality people/tribes don't make to much noise or beg for appointments, their works speaks for them.

Until she can compete with the likes of Oteh, Okonjo and Obi and uncountable other Igbo ladies at the international level, she remains a local oduduwa champion. Why not let's see her CV? We know FBN is a yoruba bank, so no biggie.

She looks fragile. For her to have attained to this level, she must have gone through a lot of crap.
She might have gone through double the stress a guy go through to get to that level.

It is absolute stupidity and myopic reasoning when achievement of an individual is reduced to a gender victory. It was not mentioned that she deserved the position for her hardwork and competence, when a man is appointed in to a position his achievements and qualities are highlighted but when a female is appointed her gender is emphasized. So was she made the chairman because she is a woman or because she was the most qualified and most competent?

Really?

You mean women cannot attain such "feat" without "extra" sweat in contrast to men(that is what I can infer from your post and the person you quoted)

While I could be chauvinistic(I am also guilty of it!), I find this opinion of yours highly laughable because I consider it-the opinion, and the person you quoted as a joke!

Common franci5,I know the guy you quoted or responded to was thoughtless by being ethnocentric in his comment but do you also have to respond without your brain? Why must you reveal to the world your level of shallowness and the emptiness of non-imaginative faculty.Pls speak only for your family not for the igbo race as great minds like chinua achebe, chike obi and others will surely not want to associate with a fellow of micrscopic reasoning capacity comparable only to deformed amoeba.( Apologies to all the wonderful A. proteus family)

Lol, Thats why the "someday" was in uppercase. The chances of a woman being a VP is very low how much more a President.

Like the saying "If women were the presidents in every country, there'll be no war only some countries not talking to each other"

But nevertheless, IMPOSSIBLE IS NOT FRENCH.

First Bank of Nigeria has appointed its first female Chairman. Ibukun Awosika’s appointment came up as the former chairman, Prince Ajibola Afonja retired. She is also the Chairman, Board of Trustees of Women in Management and Business (WIMBIZ), as well as the Chairman of Intermac, the organisers of Smart Card Conference in Nigeria.

Thats a good one. Women are great in this sector, but know that some women in Nigeria has gone beyond Nigeria, Africa: oby ezekwesiri, Arumah Oteh, World level: Ngozi okonji iwela, a potential world bank president still in waiting. Women are great.

She owns the largest furniture factory in Nigeria, and supplies furniture to all the major banks and multinationals in the country. She is also planning a furniture hub centre along Lagos-Ibadan expressway on several acres of land. Fabricators, manufacturers, upholstery makers etc., will be brought together to create furniture for export.

There is no place on earth where connections will not land you a job.

How do you think George Bush Jr. became president of the US? Do you think it was his intellect? His impeccable record?

And what is this 'way out'? Way out of what? Life?

You obviously don't know her. She is a world player (she runs a multinational furniture company) without all the attendant noise...
