I smelt her perfume half a mile away. When she
walked into the room her aura was hypnotizing.

gingerly on a nearby stool, something in her bag began to buzz.

Note. What! I exclaimed. That was perhaps the

mean, just like that, the lady just whipped out a mobile phone that cost as much as $660. Yes,
you heard me right. At the latest exchange rate,
that would cost a lot. Let’s even be conservative.
If you convert the dollar equivalent to N200 a
dollar, that will be a whopping N132, 000. Now
that Naira is fluctuating, it can cost a lot more. That’s somebody’s monthly salary o.

she produced the ringing phone, which she held
sexily in her very well-manicured hand; eyes popped out around her. Now this one made me
gape for a long time. I mean, I just couldn’t help it. In her hands as she
pressed the answer key was a Sony Xperia Z2.
You don’t need Google it. A Sony Xperia cost
$740 USD. That is almost $1,000. Again, let’s be
conservative about the naira equivalent. That
phone cost was aggregately N150, 000. Ok, if you think I am exaggerating, you can convert
the cost against the real exchange rate in our
depressed economy and add it up. Then you will
have a sense of what I am talking about. We waited for a while as we sat glued to our
seats and listened to the ‘Lagos big babe’ as she
chewed on a candy boringly. Several minutes
idled by and then a ring tone jolted everybody
out of their reverie. It was the same lady. But it
was another type of melodious tone different from the two previous tones.
