Well, you either tell your story or someone else will do so on your behalf.
I have witnessed two incidences involving governor's convoy and ordinary citizens. One resulted in death while the other left bruises and humiliation on the victim. Unfortunately, there was no one bold enough to tell their story and the victims, themselves, left everything in God's courtyard.
In issues like this, we should draw conclusion based on the information provided by both parties. Going by the official press release the impression one gets is that of a patently caring entourage, which, despite all forms of provocation, remained cool and calm throughout. No reference to the injuries and damage. May be they were self inflicted. This rendition is only applicable to angels which Nigerian politicians are not.
We ply the roads everyday. Has any of us seen an ordinary motorist stubbornly obstructing a siren-blaring convoy? The only one I ever witnessed was Chris Mba's convoy running Ngige's off the road in 2003. Lagos is the only state I know with minimal executive lawlessness.
In Delta State a common councillor's convoy is a menace to society.

The only problem I had with the initial report (the victim's version) was its authenticity. This lousy response by the state govt shows how true the victim's claims are. This isn't the first time such is happening in Nigeria and until someone is used as an example, it wouldn't be the last. Shameful act by a public servant who forgets his position is to serve his people. His name should be dragged in the mud so much that he would never be able to win even an LG election or be able to influence one....until he personally apologises n compensate adequately that poor lady and those with her at the time of the incident.

If u answer this, i'll answer u question, there r many road offenders driving on our roads how come only few of them is pulled over n charged by FRSC n VIO?

By this reply the Governor has acknowledged that there was indeed an incidence with the woman in question. It is now the details of the event we are trying to sort out. The version of the details by the governors team seem like a well rehearsed bullshit. No Nigerian will suddenly park in the middle of the road with a convoy behind him and then suddenly start raining abuses with no prior incidence. This reply by the governor insults Nigerians. This incidence must be followed up to the logical end. No to executive bullies on the highway

the 2stories get k leg but the lady's version is more believable than that of the governor. Very shameful statement to say the least. I think the voices of the policemen dented the car.

I must also add that from both parties statements, the lady was actually rude in her approach to the issue and it seems she relies on something for her behaviour (ordinary Nigerian will quickly clear the road and allow the "evil doers" to pass but she seemed not to do that and also, her outbust! Very few Nigerians will rant at a governor's convoy police)

The Attention of Governor Umaru Tanko Al - Makura of Nasarawa State has been drawn to an online publication Title “Go To Hell!” Governor Al Makura Tells Family On Highway As His Goons Beat them To Pulp" alleging that his convoy assaulted a family on their way to Abuja.

There is no iota of truth in that publication but the misrepresentation of facts calculated to tarnish the image of his Excellency by mischief makers.
For the avoidance of doubt and to set the records straight, on Thursday 10, September 2015 about 3.pm when the convoy of His Excellency was approaching Nasarawa Eggon Local Government a vehicle was right on the middle of the road and inspite of several efforts by the police outrider and the pilot to slow the car down, the vehicle remained right in the centre of the road refusing to make way for the convoy which nearly caused an accident.

The action of the vehicle gave room for suspicion considering the fact that it was at the same area in 2003 that the convoy of former governor of Benue state George Akume now a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria was attacked.

A close look at the vehicle, the Escort commander noticed a women driving with a minor in the front seat and directed the convoy to track her with caution not to push her car by the shoulder.

This took up to 3-5 minutes before the Escort commander managed to halt her. She stopped abruptly on the road forcing the convoy to also stop and other road user causing heavy traffic along the high way.

As She came out, she began to rain abuses on the Police boasting that she is a lawyer and a daughter of a police Commissioner and has the right to drive the way she wants.

Noticing her unruly behavior, the Governor directed the Escort commander to invite the Police from the nearest police station to handle the matter to avoid further congestion and obstruction of traffic on the Highway while the convoy continued on its journey to Abuja.

It is the height of mischief and irresponsibility for anybody to insinuate that Governor Almakura made disparaging comments on the woman in question.
Any body that knows Al - Makura will attest to the fact that, it is not in his character to use derogatory words on people let alone a woman, the fact remains that the governor did not engaged in any exchange of words with the woman.

We called on the press and the general public to disregard the misleading and wicked insinuation aimed at portraying the governor in bad light.

Following those events, they were detained until Friday morning and then released after Lois refused to write a letter of apology addressed to Governor Al Makura for “obstructing his convoy and being rude to him”.

The siblings returned home completely traumatized, wondering if their brutalization at the hands of a key operative of a political party just voted into power portends terrible things to come for Nigeria.

Jerry, in pain, continues to receive treatment. His only offense is that he asked the policemen to take it easy with his sister who had inadvertently found herself driving in front of Governor Al Makura's convoy.

Joi is depressed. Not only were her phones and iPad smashed on the unforgiving road, one of Governor Al Makura’s policemen repeatedly used his jungle boots to stamp on the devices, jumping on them repeatedly to ensure they were destroyed beyond repair.

Are we monkeys & baboons living in a zoo that do JUNGLE justice by bullies in power that are PAID by the same citizens they OPPRESS

For how long shall we remain stewpid and let this continue happening?

The kind of things we read from ladies/women in Nairaland is enough proof that some women are just plain silly/crazy.
