Lucky.Number.Slevin. . .
Not.many.movies.have.done.to.me.what.this.movie.has. .
It.delivered.an.all.round.experience. The.story. The.plot. The.delivery. The.acting. The.dialogue.
The.ending. The.characters. The.whole.package.was.brilliant. .

I.Still.wonder.how.Paul.Mc.Guigan.managed.such.an.incredible.movie. .

The.biggest.thing.that.thrilled.me.was.the.dark.and.unwritten.comedy.in.the.movie. Even.with.the.amount.of.violence.and.gore.in.the.movie. . .it.had.some.very.wicked.comic.undertones. . Very.surreal. . Almost.as.if.it.was.scattered.all.over.the.movie. And.you.would.only.discover.the.comedy.in.it.if.you.look.closely. . Brilliant.stuff. .

The.dialogue.took.me.away. I'm.so.sure.they.were.carefully.written.and.detailed. .
The.scene.where.Slevin.met.the.Boss.for.the.first.time.and.asked.him.to.kill.the.Rabbi's.son.was.brilliant. The.exchange.of.words.was.spot.on. .
I.Can.recite.some.of.the.dialogue. . .lol
I've.seen.this.movie.11.times. . .and.it.gets.better.every.time. .

The.subtlety. . The.charm. .and.the.grace.this.movie.has.is.beautiful. .

Nothing.more.can.be.said.of.the.acting.than.brilliance. Vesc.said.it.all.
Sir.Ben.Kingsley. .vs Morgan.Freeman.as.crime.lords. . Wat.more.can.you.except?
Bruce.Willis.as.a.no.nonsense.killer. .whose.allegience.has, price. .
Lucy.Lui.as.a.free.spirited.fun.lovin.next.door.neighbour. .
Josh.Hartnett.as.a.naïve.looking.yet.notorious.individual. . .

Nice.stuff. .

I.Would.rate.this.movie.99%
Woulda.said.100%.but.for.the.sake.of.the.dolphines.in.the.sea. . . . . .imma.keep.the.1%.

Apart.from.the.trilogies.and.the.obvious.grand.movies. . This.movie.is.up.there.for.me. .

Thrillers don't get any slicker. Good misdirection. I saw it because no one can say No to all those stars, I missed Lucy Liu and, um, er, Hartnett is hot. This isn't among Freeman's best work, though it's much preferable to his role in Wanted. I don't care. I'd watch him stare at a wall for three hours. Willis is a star, and such is my love for this guy from his days in Moonlighting as David Addison to his breathtaking movie career, that I'm incapable of seeing a flaw in anything he does. Two thousand guys audition for a role and he gets it and hasn't looked back. Wonder what would have happened if Moonlighting's producers had rejected him. Oh yeah LNS. It's not bad. I give it 65%

lol . . .lucky number slevin.

well. . . .one man's meat is another man's poison.

I am beginning to wonder whether i just simply
hate hollywood or the ''hollywood treatment''.

Anyway. . .if you have seen ''lock stock and two smoking
barrels''. . . .perhaps you might understand why I particularly
don't care for this film.

There is nothing wrong with misdirection, its just i'd rather
the film didn't keep hinting ''okay. . watch out now, i am going
to misdirect you. . watch out, here it comes''.

oh well.

Dude. You sure you're not thinking Prisonbreak when you said that?

lol. . .i think i watched a different film to you guys.

The film was just alrite.

Lucy Liu was good. . . .but it just doesn't quite come together
for me.

I don't know , . for a film that aspires to be cool, it just
tries too hard to give the cool ending. And that jus isn't cool.
Re: The Movie Club by justkunmi(m): 4:09pm On Mar 09, 2010

Re: The Movie Club by obinna5000(m): 4:15pm On Mar 09, 2010
@justkunmi
Guy Ritchie had no hand in the movie. The director was just trying to emulate him.

So, it was Paul McGuigan that directed that wack film "Push".
Re: The Movie Club by justkunmi(m): 4:28pm On Mar 09, 2010
If.he.copied.Ritchie. . Then.he.did.a.damn.good.job. .
Have.you.seen."Rock.n'.Rolla"? Ritchie.did.that.  And.the.movies.look.a.lot.alike.

Yep. McGuigan.did.Push. Very.horrible.movie.

Sauron, thank you jare. I'd have sworn we did No Country for Old Men. Anyways, I'm up for it. Didn't I say something about waiting for some time to elapse before doing some movies? Obinna, where do you get your fixes? I'm sure you would have seen Alice in Wonderland three weeks ago
Re: The Movie Club by obinna5000(m): 3:03pm On Mar 12, 2010

I haven't seen "Alice in Wonderland' yet. Its being shown at Silverbird cinemas at the moment. I'll check it out when I have chance.

CHIGURGH!!!!
Please when is the sequel coming out.
I have seen bad guys but this villain takes the cake.
Re: The Movie Club by obinna5000(m): 3:35pm On Mar 12, 2010
@~Sauron~
No sequel is being talked about yet. "No Country For Old Men" is based on a novel of the same name.
Between Anton Chigurh (Javier Bardem) and The Joker (Heath Ledger), who's more sinister?
Re: The Movie Club by vescucci(m): 3:41pm On Mar 12, 2010
What possible sequel could come off No Country for Old men?

JK, do your thing and let's move on
Re: The Movie Club by vescucci(m): 3:46pm On Mar 12, 2010
And the Joker takes the plaudits. Even Keyser Soze (abi how una dey spell am) is more sinister than Anton. Anton is mechanical about killing. That's not a psycho, that's a wire disconnected. The Joker kills for pleasure, that's a psycho and plenty wires flying all over in a short-circuiting frenzy

It's a tight one.
The Joker should ace it cos he killed without motives.
Anton is a mercenary. . . .He was killed for the $$$$$$$.

shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked
I'm sorry. Chigurh is not a psycho? He doesn't derive pleasure, doesn't kill for the fun, doesn't do a do-wop and dance over the corpse, so he's not bad enough for you? That guy is one of the most chilling psychopaths my eyeballs has had the my pleasure of pointing at on a screen!Did we see the same movie? He has an unflinching system of rules, and the rules in this universe must give way to his. He's even compassionate! When he feels sorry for you, touched by something in you, he offers you a 50/50 chance to escape his terrible retribution. He gives the girl at the end that chance, but she refuses to take the escape offered, because she didn't understand it. But he forces everyone to play by his rules, or die. No bargaining. Not a psycho?!!!! shocked

I am not even sure that coin has 2 faces.
Either way - the victim dies.
Chigurgh is one mean psychopath but The Joker still rules. . . . . .The Joker is not scared of DEATH.

Re: The Movie Club by doyin13(m): 12:24pm On Mar 13, 2010
In this world of hyper ventilating, foaming at the mouth hollywood
pyrotechnics, where millions of dollars are spent by trigger happy
CGI simulating directors. . . .

One heaves a sigh of relief when smart understated filmmaking
rears its head.

Nothing over the top about this film. No scene is wasted, no gimmicks,
character development, funny without deteriorating into pastiche.

WATCH IT. grin grin grin
Re: The Movie Club by vescucci(m): 11:25pm On Mar 13, 2010
Lol. Doyin. You'll be careful to curb your enthusiasm lest your beloved An Education suffers the same fate of hype induced hate. This is the latest fashion now, to hate hype. It's bigger than LV or Prada bags
