ajujuju: Have you used oakbend before? Epidural is discounted to $850 for VB irrespective of when it was administered and $950 for CS. Yes, I requested after labour started. If she calls their office directly, they will quote the undiscounted price. Yolanda is the one in charge at Oakbend that effects the discount. 1 Like |

mymy2015: Call their billing office, the no is on the invoice you got or google greater Houston anaesthologist for their no, tell them you are self pay....its now $900. They will collect the payment over the phone You usually have a month after delivery to still qualify for self pay Don't panic, for my second child, I paid at the hospital and still got the $5,600 bill in the mail, had to call to regularize. My first child, I paid $850 over the phone about 4 weeks later after I got the almost $6k Bill 2 Likes |

feddy27: Okay dear, I truly hope you're right for her sake. Maybe it's different with different anesthesiologists but the group I used (Pinnacle) have two rules. 1. Pay ahead for self pay discount and 2) the prepayment must be with respect to type of delivery, so if you even prepay for natural delivery and end up having ano emergency c.s they'll hit you up with additional fees. Once you contact them before delivery they tell you, and even your hospital may prefer warn you. But hey, I truly hope I'm wrong. |

Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 3 by MiddyO(f): 9:06am On Feb 11, 2016 |
mymy2015: I think you should let them know that you are a self paying patient, and you are not covered by insurance. Call or visit their office ask to speak with a supervisor. My initial Epidural bill was $15k but after speaking with them over the phone it was reverted to $1600. Which is the normal price for the prepaid service. |

I think we should always give first hand advise/information ! Let those that used Oakbend respond and bail her out. I'm happy favoredgal can attest to how it works! Different hospitals with different policies. Advising her based on yours might be disastrous. #okbye# 13 Likes 2 Shares |

I went for my visa interview yesterday at lagos embassy by 8am with my daughter and to God be the glory it was a success. As I entered Na soso Iya ibeji the security people they shout, hmm was like it is well! So I was in the queue when a security guy sited my daughter and asked if we were together, I answered yes so he brought me out of the queue to behind someone that was been interviewed. My transcript below Me: Good morning VO: good morning Why do you want to go to US Me: To have my baby VO: To have your baby Me: Yes VO: where in US Me: Maryland VO: Do you have family and friends? Me: alright thank you with a bright smile n grabbed my daughter let's go. That was all, it is the Lord's doing and the people of nairaland that posted on the forum not to hide anything. @Emeriem, the woman gave you genuine fares. 205 is for Ethiad while 185 is for delta but I'm not sure she can still get you that delta at that price as at today. I would have given you the Ethiad at 200K but obviously you don't need my help. If you can reach the woman and can prove she's a honest person i'd say go ahead and transact with her. To be on the safe side, pay into a company account. All the best. |

Congrats Michelleano. I tap into your success story for my girl. @ All,is $16K budget with closing bank statement of 6.4M for pregnant woman, 4.5M for the hubby good enough? |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 3 by LI(m): 10:27am On Feb 11, 2016 |
6k is the undiscounted price and the people you called will tell you that's what you're paying. Call again and tell them you're only required to pay $850 which is the discounted price for epidural, they'll take your payment over the phone and send you a receipt + zero balance mymy2015: |

Just called her now, said her name is Ojuolape. she sounded very convincing and also said she works from home too, said she can also be visited in her Egbeda house. My advice is investigate properly before sending any money to her. Send peeps to her house, ask if she truly stay there and her person in general. I also gave her my date to check(u never can tell...make dis awoof no purge belle) All the best. @omodadi please how well do u know this lady? emeriem: |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 3 by biollar1: 10:39am On Feb 11, 2016 |
@emeriem the Ojuolape lady with 0805 692 0009 gave me 215k for me and DH and 191k for my date and that's May. I'm confused as dis offer is too smooth. Kindly advise house. She said the promo can end anytime. I'm thinking of Calling Delta Airline now. They should be aware of dis promo shey? 1 Like |

@intending America mamas Remember this when you are buying a promo ticket from any airline. Promo ticket are usually rigid, you cant make any changes without paying through your nose and am not sure they are refundable. Get it when you are absolutely sure of your dates of travel. Please be guided! |

ifyalways:Thank you, yes it is okay, though my budget is $18k. And I went with a bank balance less than 6m. |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 3 by feddy27: 11:11am On Feb 11, 2016 |
Hmmm! Dear all, be guided with this "cheap ticket" thingy o.... Since you are in Lagos. reach the airline directly Most of those tickets are non-refundable, non-amendable with so much conditions attached ! Remember child birth is not cast a stone! You might need to make changes at some point. Also, you have an infant to add! Be guided o so you don't end up as penny wise, pound foolish. 5 Likes 1 Share |

biollar1:PS : Not saying you should buy from the woman as I don't know her from anywhere but for REAL AND CONFIRMED, Delta do have 210- 220K tickets on sale now. You doubt me? I'll have someone book a seat, give you the ticket reference to call delta and confirm it. They just did not give you their cheapest fares or its not available for your travel dates. 1 Like |

@Emeriem,I would advice you get your ticket directly from airlines, don't trust these so called agents.if you must use agents, use wakanow but dealing directly with airlines is better.monitor their fares on their websites because adding infant ticket is easier when you buy directly from the airline.things are difficult now and you can't afford to fall prey to some these scammers. 3 Likes |

Hi Emeriem. I honestly think you should leave any time from now till just before you are 36 weeks. Remember you need to place the well being of your baby first. 37 weeks is too far gone. yes, nothing would happen to you but its just wisdom to go earlier. So many of us have advised you to leave your toddler. it will be difficult taking her along when you have no one coming as well. she cannot go with you to the hospital for labour/delivery. so who would she be with for that time? However you are her mom so you know better than I do in this regard. I would advise you go to El Paso. If only for the Nigerian community that you "may" find there if there are people due around your date. Also you'll find vbac friendly doctors there if you are bent on that. although i believe vbac is more expensive than a c-section and since you are on a budget that may not be the cheaper option. However a vbac in el paso "may" be about the same price with a houston c/s. Oakbend moms will know better. I also would not advise you to buy a flight ticket with your already limited funds from someone you do not know. wakanow may just be better if they give you rates cheaper than the airlines directly. Delta is your best bet as they allow travel up to 36 weeks for a singleton pregnancy. 36 weeks means you are not 36weeks + 1 day oh. its from 35 weeks = 1 up to 36 weeks. lady G got PTA from unity bank HQ All the best! emeriem: 4 Likes |
