@justwise @ekpotek @galazito (cool name) and others

Thank you for the responses, let me answer your questions now OK.

I was in my previous company for over 5years as an analyst, when I was being employed in my new company which isn't as big as the old one agreed to give me a 3 month probation because of my experience and gave me a specialist position.

I started February, I will complete 3months in first week of May and intend to send my application end of May. I plan to give the eco/ the month of June to decide on my visas.

I do not plan to travel until July, I've not gotten these documents yet from my office, I'm just doing the calculation. But by the time I plan to travel I would've been with my company for 5momths.

Concerning the payslips/bank statements, I want to include December and January at my old employment and February to may, in my new employment.

But I will try and come up with a way to stall my girlfriend but if I'm not able too, I'll just apply. Maybe when she sees rejected on my passport, she will calm down

Like I said, you are free to apply. From my experiences, the ECO will definitely see your reason for visit as a potential immigrant intent. Nobody get a visa to visit a girl/boy friend without a solid home ties. You have a job history of less than 6 years and you think the ECO will believed that you will return back to Nigeria.

Please what's the difference between TLS ikeja and Vi in terms of cost, processing time, etc. I'm currently processing my Tier 2 application and I intend using priority. A friend advised me to use VI although Ikeja is closer to me, his reasons were issues of touts at ikeja but i think i've come across some comments about extra costs at VI either in this thread or related threads. So I'd like to know the cost of biometrics at VI and Ikeja and anything else I need to know about both centres. Thanks.
I used ikeja two weeks ago and I used them last in 2015 and I didn’t encounter any tout there , in 2015 I paid the extra processing fee in ikeja but this time around it has shifted to V.I ( no more processing fee in ikeja) prior to 2015, in 2014 I used Abuja and I can’t actually say I encountered any tout this time around or even the last time

Dear Nairalander,

Please I made an application for Tier 2 Uk Visa and I was declined based on non inclusion of certificate of sponsorship (COS). At the back of the rejection letter, it was stated that I can put in for an administrative review of the rejection which I have already applied for. I put in for the review because COS is not a requirement for the country I am visiting.

All my documents were scanned initially which I still believe they have on their system, but my passport is currently with me as this was returned to me when the first application was rejected.

I got an email from them this morning; see details below:

Dear ..................

Regarding Visa Application: ...................
For: .................

Your online application has been received at the UK Decision Making Centre. Your application is currently being prepared for consideration by an Entry Clearance Officer.

If you have made a Settlement application (except for applications lodged in USA and Canada): you must ensure that your UK sponsor has sent all relevant supporting documentation to the UK Decision Making Centre in Sheffield. The documents should be arranged in this order: application form and relevant Appendix* (See below); English language evidence; relationship documents; maintenance documents; accommodation documents. If documents are not received a decision will be taken on the basis on the information that has been provided.

If you have already had your supporting documents scanned in at the Visa Application Centre, or if you have already sent them in to us, please ignore the request for documents.

Please note that UKVI aims to complete all Visit Visa applications within 15 working days and all Settlement Visa applications within 12 weeks of the application date. If it is not possible to complete your application within this timeframe a member of our team will contact you to explain why.

If you have paid for Priority Service, your application will be placed in front of the queue and assessed ahead of other non-priority visa applications. As indicated in the terms of service, the amount paid for the priority service, as well as the visa fees, is not refundable if the visa application is refused or if the decision is delayed.

We regret that we are unable to respond to enquiries asking about the status of any application. Any status enquiry should be made to the international enquiry service, details of which are on the GOV.UK website. Staff at Embassies, visa processing centres and visa application centres cannot assist with visa enquiries. You may also wish to view the current processing times for applications made in your country.

A further email will be sent to you to confirm when your application has been assessed and dispatched. If your application was made in a Visa Application Centre, the staff there will contact you when your documents are ready – please do not attend the Centre until you are requested to do so.

Please note that you are advised not to purchase flight tickets until you have secured a visa for travel to the UK.

Appendix 1 - Children / Other Dependants Appendix 2 - Spouse / Partner Appendix 4 - Pre-flight family members of Refugees Appendix 5 - Access Rights to Child

Further information is also available on the UK visas and immigration website.

Hello All,

Please how true is this:

https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/549692/Visitor_Supporting_Documents_Guide_-_English_version.pdf

On page 7 it specifically states that you should not provide photographs (other than the photos of the applicant).

How else can one proof relationship with his/her sponsor.

The ECOs are quite aware that your bank account can not remain dormant for duration of the visa processing as they will always be inflow and outflow. What they are more interested is in the consistency of your spending/saving habits.

They are not permitted to stamp your original certificate. Make a copy of the certificate and take it the ministry to stamp as certified true copy. In any case there is nothing like unlamination.

Nothing. The ECO may make calls only when they need to verify something information or document supplied.

If the review is successful. The embassy will call or send you an email to take your passport to TLC or the embassy for the visa sticker.

Explain the general concept of co-op. Then highlight all the deductions from your account. Do a summary of how it all added up to it. It's what I will do in your shoes.

How and where in the form can I do this?

I have to disagree with you on this, if the money in your account has been budgeted for the trip and you used it even before your visa comes out how then can you afford to finance that trip?

That simply means that you can not afford the trip and still sustain yourself in Nigeria, only if you have more than enough in that account.

In the additional information section. You can also use a highlighter to show the deductions on your bank statement. Use a cover sheet, to do the summary and and attach to the bank statement. Cross Reference it in your additional information.

Okay Justwise. Thanks a lot. I even made a screenshot of section 164 of the guidance which talks about the PREVIOUS GRANT OF LEAVE so you can see. Thanks

I applied to attend my brothers convocation, unfortunately which was yesterday, I had my biometrics on the 14th of march, it been more than 27 working days, TLS haven't contacted me .

Someone here suggested I give them a call, which I did and their Sheffield customer care told me they have taken a decision a long time ago and I should go and collect my passport, getting to the TLS office they told me my passport isn't with them and its isn't ready for collection.

Pls house advise me on my next step.

Visit the embassy with your checklist and form of identity to complain to them, if you cannot do that; write a complaint letter to them with necessary details. Good luck.

@Justwise. My advise is based on personal experiences. I have had situations to spend fund from my submitted bank account while waiting for a visa decision and it did not affect the outcome. The most important thing is have more than enough in your account in case the ECO want confirm with the bank if the supplied statement is genuine or fake. Beside, no bank has the right to reveal your bank balance to a third party without your consent or court order. If the OP need money to attend to presssing needs, then he’s free to access it, considering that some decisions on many visit visa take months.
