Why haven't mean looking law enforcement agents and other Godogodos kicked this Wike out of government quarters and sworn in the Speaker and what is the EFCC waiting for? |

Firefire: What half information? Wike has been dismissed and will no longer have immunity once the head of the State legislative arm is sworn in as acting Governor. If the judgement dismissing Wike is based on sound evidence, which I think is the case, then he is merely wasting his time at the appeal court. |

Gbawe: Are you just ignorant or trying to tell a lie? Wike remains governor as long as an appeal is filed against the tribunal's decision. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Firefire: In my opinion, it is a foregone conclusion that is appeal will fail. We are not in PDP Nigeria where Judges can grant judgement that makes no sense. The rigging in Rivers means Wike was dismissed with solid evidence that proved electoral malpractice. Let us keep watching. What I know is that the Judiciary remains independent yet under a President that wants strong institutions, Judges will now have to explain 'strange' judgements otherwise Nigerians will believe there is no 'change' and everything is still business as usual. Governor Wike had made at least two attempts to see the Chief Justice of Nigeria to seek the CJN’s help to influence the outcome of the tribunal, but the nation’s top judge declined to meet with the governor, citing his fear of President Muhammadu Buhari. |

Firefire: Did I tell you I disagree with this? My point is that the rigging in Rivers was the worst in Nigeria with ample evidence revealing this. I personally don't believe Wike will find any judge to do the 'abracadabra' he needs in today's Nigeria. I don't think anyone will be getting away with such impunity under this regime that is why I am certain Wike will not get a stay of execution. I may be wrong but we will wait and see. Everything is a test of Buhari's integrity home and abroad. Some things will make him look foolish and solidify the opinion Nigeria is still the land of impunity and has not changed under him. 1 Like |
