It is not about being rich or poor, it is about the fact that oyedepo is one of the false prophets the bible warns us about who would twist and distort the scriptures for the sake of extorting money from the flock. It is quite obvious oyedepo is NOT doing the will of God but only feeding his own greed. The gospel of Jesus is not about earthly material possesions that prosperity pimps would like to have you believe, it is the gospel of the Kingdom of God and how to get there and your oyedepo is one of the preachers that specialize in twisting the teachings of the bible for material gain and in the process lead several away from the kingdom of God. At least you won't say you weren't told, if you like keep on believing in a man instead of focusing on the teachings of christ.

What does it take to be a living legend? can a poor man be regarded as a living legend? As per Bishop Oyedepo, has anyone asked where he is getting the millions from? Could it be from tithes and offering alone? I honestly doubt this. The magnitude of the project he has done is much more than what the tithes and offering can explain. Does Covenant University belong to him or the Church he is leading?
These are some questions that need to be answered before we start crucifying or commending anyone. If the source of fund is the tithes and offering, then why is he the living legend instead of the church members?
The problem is that NIGERIANS LIKE TO CELEBRATE WEALTH EVEN WHEN THE SOURCE IS SHROUDED IN MYSTERY. I believe that one day God will raise up someone in Nigeria that will want our 'suddenly rich' religious, political and traditional rulers to tell all of us how their sweat earned them the wealth they have so that all of us will be able to practice their hardwork in order to reduce poverty in Nigeria.
The fact is that:
1. the bottom of riches STINKS.
2. Many are involved in MONEY RITUALS; embezzling/stealing money belonging to the people including being allocated oil wells by their friends in govt while the inhabitants of the oil rich region languish in poverty.
2. Claiming God's promises as they preached does not bring cash from heaven -'if a man does not work let him not eat'. so what work do our own 'wealthy men of God do- we know Paul, Barnabas worked?
3. So called charitable giving should not blind the mind of the people from asking for the source of these unexplainable wealth.
4. We know those in govt have access to public money and they unfortunately steal to their satisfaction, but tithe and offering do not belong to one man- so where do they get the wealth from?
5. 'Erelu Jesu' will need to throw more light on all her confessions- she may be able to provide some answers to many of the questions.

Has xtianity now become an issue of wealth, money and being a legend etc. do we now need the praise of men.

Its great to give to God, my over 20 years as a xtian has shown me that. However its so unfortunate to see a man of God who base his whole message on prosperity and nothing else. these wealth you see is temporary (a thing of the world). Money can achieve so much in doing God's will on earth, but the love of money is also the root of all evils. A lot of pastors actually need to sit down and consider their ways when it comes to the issue of money and riches.

My own very pastor borrowed money from me and did not pay me back, after 18 months, I left the church because I just cant understand why he should treat me that way. When he got to know I left for that reason, he didnt even apologise, he only tried to psyche me and refuse to admit that he wronged me. The fact that one is a pastor doesnt mean he cant make mistakes, afterall he is still human.
