This begs the question; what qualifies for a mediocre salary in Nigeria these days?

But I wonder for the salary o. Except there are other sumptuous benefits aside. Job must be really tough in 9ja if 125k per month is considered mouth watering. Anyway some earn 10k per month still. grin

Really shameful. I was heart broken that it was hailed as mouth watering. This country really need to get better. Anyway, just thank God for what ever level you are at.

Regardless of the pay,I suggest you take the power option. I am a telecome engineer with 7years experience and I can authoritatively tell you that site maintanace engineer won't add any serious value to your resume @ d long run.

U will definately get bored and might not learn any new thing after having a basic knowledge on site maintanance . Bulk of d job might be done by ur "SBC or sub contractor" as d case may be.

But there are millions of things to learn on Power! I am nt a power guy but I have friends in that dept withing the telecom industry and I can tell you I feel jealous on how wide they can explore on power stuffs.

Besides,there are plenty of solutuons on power still not yet explored!

Last week I started a job with 1.5M annual salary, I collected another offer of 1.3M annual salary also today. Now I have to choose and consider my options based on career prospects,location and other factors ,in fact I'm confused.

By Gods grace, this is just a little of my dreams and where i see myself....also to encourage someone out there, don't give up and don't let anybody pity you. Keep striving. We will all reach our peak.Amen. Its just the beginning.

congrat but tell us how u put yurself in d position to get these two mouth watering offers? Thru what medium did yu get d advert? What are yur qualifications? What are d lesson gained during interview... If u suply us job seeker with all d answers to these Qs, then u would hav suceeded in helping a brother, else yur write is better off in yur church as testimony to testify God goodness.......so NLers expect yur comprehensive feedback post

Congrats man.

As a young man who got a similar job offer about one and a half years ago I have some advice for you, it might do you some good to take it.

1.5 million per annum na small money, but I can understand your excitement, I was at the time too, being a young grad just coming from 19,500 NYSC allawi, the money bin dey shaq me like say na me hammer pass but you might soon discover it's really not big.

*be careful not to quickly adjust your life style to suit your new income, slowly but surely.

*be careful about broadcasting your new job on Facebook, all those your bros and babes dem wen no dey greet you since go begin dey buzz you as soon as you do, dey task and over task you self.

*the Job is a stepping stone to something better not an end in itself, acquire experience that will make you comfortably negotiate in your next job.

*save, save, save!!! it's actually not a bad thing to be stingy once in a while, remember, you can't save the whole world.

*Run, no flee from karishikas, awon maje kiomoko ere oko dele
