The bible has as many violent verses as the quran. This is not surprising as both books were plagiarised from the torah. Moreso the quran which reads like a copy and paste of the old testament with a few tweaks here and there.
The early of christianity was rife with violence and bloodshed.

Christianity was never plagued with violence. Christianity has always been about love of God in provable life. Ever before Islam existed

Even morons and idiots know that those old testament verses quoted in that manipulative video do not define christianity neither are they christian doctrines but rather obsolete instructions given to jewish people at a specific time in their history. These are not christian teachings. If you want to criticise christianity you have to go the new testament and let's take it from there. Need I remind you mohammed came over six hundred years after Jesus established a new and better covenant to try and return people to bondage and he instructed his followers to carry out acts of terror to spread the religion of islam. How can any right thinking person accept the evil mohamed represents after Jesus christ preached love and peace to the world?

If I get you correctly, you're saying the old testerment is not part of the christian bible, and your God's ideas are obsolete, right? Are you not of the Abrahamic God?

Num 23:19 - God is not a man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind.

Dunce I said it's not part of christian doctrine even though it was left in the bible so we christians can know what the past dispensation looked liked and appreciate the grace we enjoy in this current dispensation. God himself rendered the old testament obsolete when he made a new and better covenant through his Son Jesus Christ. Today it's clear that it is the quoran that is obsolete whilst the biblical new testament is fresher than tomorrow's newspaper. tongue

Why was god so brutal in the first place ? You might aswell take the old testament and rip it out ur bible since it doesnt matter. Does God change ? What made god calm down in the NT and why? Did he make a mistake ? why would ur god make a mistake.

The fact is the brutality of yahweh is all over the old testament for all to see ! Whether the OT matters or not the fact is that Yahweh has been and can be brutal

Answer: In Matthew’s record of what is commonly called the Sermon on the Mount, these words of Jesus are recorded: “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished” (Matthew 5:17-18).

It is frequently argued that if Jesus did not “abolish” the law, then it must still be binding. Accordingly, such components as the Sabbath-day requirement must be operative still, along with perhaps numerous other elements of the Mosaic Law. This assumption is grounded in a misunderstanding of the words and intent of this passage. Christ did not suggest here that the binding nature of the law of Moses would remain forever in effect. Such a view would contradict everything we learn from the balance of the New Testament (Romans 10:4; Galatians 3:23-25; Ephesians 2:15).

Of special significance in this study is the word rendered “abolish.” It translates the Greek term kataluo, literally meaning “to loosen down.” The word is found seventeen times in the New Testament. It is used, for example, of the destruction of the Jewish temple by the Romans (Matthew 26:61; 27:40; Acts 6:14), and of the dissolving of the human body at death (2 Corinthians 5:1). The term can carry the extended meaning of “to overthrow,” i.e., “to render vain, deprive of success.” In classical Greek, it was used in connection with institutions, laws, etc., to convey the idea of “to invalidate.”

It is especially important to note how the word is used in Matthew 5:17. In this context, “abolish” is set in opposition to “fulfill.” Christ came “...not to abolish, but to fulfill.” Jesus did not come to this earth for the purpose of acting as an opponent of the law. His goal was not to prevent its fulfillment. Rather, He revered it, loved it, obeyed it, and brought it to fruition. He fulfilled the law’s prophetic utterances regarding Himself (Luke 24:44). Christ fulfilled the demands of the Mosaic law, which called for perfect obedience under threat of a “curse” (see Galatians 3:10, 13). In this sense, the law’s divine design will ever have an abiding effect. It will always accomplish the purpose for which it was given.

If, however, the law of Moses bears the same relationship to men today, in terms of its binding status, then it was not fulfilled, and Jesus failed at what He came to do. On the other hand, if the Lord did accomplish His goal, then the law was fulfilled, and it is not a binding legal institution today. Further, if the law of Moses was not fulfilled by Christ—and thus remains as a binding legal system for today—then it is not just partially binding. Rather, it is a totally compelling system. Jesus plainly said that not one “jot or tittle” (representative of the smallest markings of the Hebrew script) would pass away until all was fulfilled. Consequently, nothing of the law was to fail until it had completely accomplished its purpose. Jesus fulfilled the law. Jesus fulfilled all of the law. We cannot say that Jesus fulfilled the sacrificial system, but did not fulfill the other aspects of the law. Jesus either fulfilled all of the law, or none of it. What Jesus' death means for the sacrificial system, it also means for the other aspects of the law.

Galatians 3:21-25

The Purpose of the Law
21 Does this mean that the Law is against God's promises? No, not at all! For if human beings had received a law that could bring life, then everyone could be put right with God by obeying it. 22 But the scripture says that the whole world is under the power of sin; and so the gift which is promised on the basis of faith in Jesus Christ is given to those who believe.

23 But before the time for faith came, the Law kept us all locked up as prisoners until this coming faith should be revealed. 24 And so the Law was in charge of us until Christ came, in order that we might then be put right with God through faith. 25 Now that the time for faith is here, the Law is no longer in charge of us.

My question is simple.

Why do you christains dissociate from the OT? simple!

That article answered your sill.y question. It doesnt matters who wrote it. What matters is the truth it speaks. You muslims always run to the old testament to justify your killing of innocent people. These verses are not valid for Christians. The NT writers clearly recognised that Jesus fulfilled the Mosaic covenant with all its regulations. The death of Jesus paid in full the fines of the ‘old covenant’ and also served as the sacrifice needed to confirm the ‘new covenant’, as promised by Moses and all the prophets after Jesus. The old covenant which had been fulfilled and replaced by the new covenant had therefore become obsolete.

Matthew 5:17-18 – Jesus rejected accusations that He was intending to abolish the Law or the Prophets; He declared instead that He had come to fulfil and accomplish everything in the Law. What did He says to the adulterous woman who was supposed to be stoned to death? Did He heal on the Sabbath day? Did His apostles eat with unwashed hands? Theses are things the OLD LAW does not support. But Jesus came a gave a new definition of the laws. If you are not reading the bible with a bias mind. You will believe Jesus for his word. As muslims, you have been brainwashed to disbelieve the bible except for verses you can use to tag Mohammed. Pathetic! !
