Some stakeholders in South East have raised alarm over an alleged plot by some people in Nigeria, especially the Federal Ministry of aviation staff, to sabotage flight activities at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, to give the impression that it was not suitable to render international services. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/12/akanu-ibiam-intl-airport-seast-stakeholders-allege-sabotage/ 9 Likes |

Are there no Federal Universities in SE? Are there no Federal Prisons in SE? Are there no field office of various Federal MDAs there, as obtainable in other regions? What do they plant in SE that will make Fed Min of Agric to have a presence there? Which sea is in SE that will make NPA to site a port there? When their "stealing daughter" did the cosmetic renovation and redesign of the "Akamu intergalactic waterlogged airport", we told them she ripped them off. The amount spent is not commensurate with the value gotten for the airport. The report justifies our position. Let "the leave our daughter alone" ethnic bigots keep trekking from the aircraft to the airport lounge. 120 Likes 11 Shares |

Does it mean Stella Oduah didn't buy shuttle buses for the Airport? You see one thing i hate about those hyping Oduah? They made us feel she did a lot for the Airport when she actually didn't do much. Too bad! 71 Likes 5 Shares |

cheruv: Did we just wake up to find that we are marginalized? Who marginalized us; the government of 16 years which we wanted to perpetuate in power or the government of 7 months? Why is it that our land is the only region where petrol never sold at its controlled price? What is the condition of Enugu-Onisha Road or Enugu-Port Harcourt Road or Owerri -Aba Road? Why didn't we ask our 'brother'; the Ijaw man to give us Biafra? 106 Likes 8 Shares |

Why is the coal in enugwu state abandoned? This coal can generate 12500megawatts in nigeria. We need federal roads in the east cos none for now. The only federal project in the east is akanu ibiam international airport and they still want to sabotage the airport. Una wicked o 7 Likes |

superstar1: There is a difference between having a federal government office and a federal government investment. That same AIIA in its water logged state is still far much more busier than all the airports in the south west states of Oyo, Ondo, Kwara combined except the MMA, the east asked for a deep sea port in Rivers , bayelsa. cross rivers or akwai ibom which will enable Aba manufacturers ,Nnewi and Onitsha businesses to export their products and import raw materials , machinery . chemicals etc 20 Likes |

South East stakeholders at the airport have consequently appealed to South East Governors Forum to equip the airport with vehicles that will convey passenger from the landing ground to the arrival hall, as well as other facilities, as the present condition of the airport was an embarrassment to the entire South East and Nigeria at large. what on earth stops the east from taking over this Airport and turning it into an Aviation Hub a Boing 747 can be leased from a leasing company or out rightly bought for between $24 M to $400 M and weekly trips to London, Dubai , China, South Africa can be done , while Local Trips to other airports in Nigeria will also be done. Most igbos all over the world will prefer flying the eastern airline than any other airline, The igbos built imo airport single handedly and shoudl take it back from the Federal Government which they handed over the Airport in the 80s during the military rule. Igbo Nation with more than 45 million wel travelled population can run a very good airline and use Enugu and Owerri as ist hub just like emirates has Dubai airport as its hub and Etihad has Doha Airports as its hub 14 Likes |
