Did we just wake up to find that we are marginalized? Who marginalized us; the government of 16 years which we wanted to perpetuate in power or the government of 7 months? Why is it that our land is the only region where petrol never sold at its controlled price? What is the condition of Enugu-Onisha Road or Enugu-Port Harcourt Road or Owerri -Aba Road? Why didn't we ask our 'brother'; the Ijaw man to give us Biafra?

Are u ok?.......I laughed wen uninformed igbo brothers and sisters alleged that Odua was hunted cos she gave us international airport................it is time 4 us 2 understand that our enemies our own leaders......how can the only major road in the south-east, Enugu onitsha express road be abandoned for 16 good years of PDP leadership wen all the 5 south-east states produced atleast one senate president?, we had deputy senate president, deputy speaker,SFG,senate commitee chairman on works and many other key stakeholders but no tangible federal government project was attracted.......soon, the enemies will make us hate Buhari, saying Hausa ple hate Igbos when igbo leaders are the main enemies of ala-igbo

Are there no Federal Universities in SE?

Are there no Federal Prisons in SE?

Are there no field office of various Federal MDAs there, as obtainable in other regions?

What do they plant in SE that will make Fed Min of Agric to have a presence there?

Which sea is in SE that will make NPA to site a port there?

When their "stealing daughter" did the cosmetic renovation and redesign of the "Akamu intergalactic waterlogged airport", we told them she ripped them off. The amount spent is not commensurate with the value gotten for the airport. The report justifies our position.

Let "the leave our daughter alone" ethnic bigots keep trekking from the aircraft to the airport lounge.

Wonderfully said!

I flew from the airport yesterday and it was still below what i see around the world but its better than i used to know it.

No doubt she tried to give a number of the airports a face lift, but you don't see anyone claiming there is a gang up against their region simply because of a few inadequacies that still needs to be taken care of at our airports. We all saw pictures of some people disembarking from a plane with a ladder recently. Did they cry marginalisation? Did they blame Aunty Stella? No. The issue was addressed to FAAN and Aero Contractors.

The Enugu state govt and/or the other 4 SE govts can contribute buses to convey passengers to the terminal. Innoson should get the contract for it. Four or five 80-seater buses should be adequate.

Nonetheless, I believe the FG should sell the airport to either the Enugu state government or an airport management company set up by the SE states. Abuja has no business in the day-to-day running of airports.

The new owners could install runway lights, convert the current domestic terminal to a VVIP facility, and build a befitting 50,000 sq m edifice with a minimum of 6 jet bridges. The international terminal that would be completed next year could then be used for domestic flights, with future plans to expand the terminal as needed.

This is a very interesting thread. Fancy how everybody has gone ethnic kporakpo levels, come dey rain abuse on each other via their native dialect. The only people sabotaging the airport are the Igbos in places of authority. The last minister of finance and the last two ministers of aviation were all of Igbo extraction. Their respective states (Iweala-Abia, Oduah-Anambra, Chidoka-Anambra) have no airports till date. So let's lay the blame squarely where it belongs. The current senate deputy president from Enugu state. If he so chooses, he can make the continued upgrade of the airport his pet project (IF HE CHOOSES).

what on earth stops the east from taking over this Airport and turning it into an Aviation Hub a Boing 747 can be leased from a leasing company or out rightly bought for between $24 M to $400 M and weekly trips to London, Dubai , China, South Africa can be done , while Local Trips to other airports in Nigeria will also be done.

Most igbos all over the world will prefer flying the eastern airline than any other airline, The igbos built imo airport single handedly and shoudl take it back from the Federal Government which they handed over the Airport in the 80s during the military rule.

Igbo Nation with more than 45 million wel travelled population can run a very good airline and use Enugu and Owerri as ist hub just like emirates has Dubai airport as its hub and Etihad has Doha Airports as its hub
That was what prompted rochas okorocha to commence the completion of imo cargo airport to international standards, work is immensely going on, he also inspect it almost daily to ensuring smooth running of the project, that's why when most ignorant people condemned rochas I just smile because the mean well not for imo but ibos.
