what on earth stops the east from taking over this Airport and turning it into an Aviation Hub a Boing 747 can be leased from a leasing company or out rightly bought for between $24 M to $400 M and weekly trips to London, Dubai , China, South Africa can be done , while Local Trips to other airports in Nigeria will also be done.

Most igbos all over the world will prefer flying the eastern airline than any other airline, The igbos built imo airport single handedly and shoudl take it back from the Federal Government which they handed over the Airport in the 80s during the military rule.

Igbo Nation with more than 45 million wel travelled population can run a very good airline and use Enugu and Owerri as ist hub just like emirates has Dubai airport as its hub and Etihad has Doha Airports as its hub

Other and even smaller states are building or have built their own airports so exactly why is it so difficult for the entire east to build 1 single airport or even join money together to build just 1 airport.
