I hope this topic is not becos of the 3 Igbo men appointed officials in America recently. I will tell you right now: this topic is childish. Igbo is Igbo. Yoruba is Yoruba. We don't have much in common. So no need for the competition. There's no trophy to be won here. We Igbos celebrate ourselves. Some call it chest beating (whatever suits them). Our western neighbours should do same - if they like. No need for this. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Know2020: I don't deal with recent news, ibo made Read up 1882 == Crowther wrote Vocabulary of the Ibo Language, the first comprehensive dictionary in Igbo. In 1883 Crowther and Schon jointly revised it and added more words. They finally came out with Vocabulary of the Ibo Language, Part II, an English-Ibo dictionary. By this time, Igbo had had some 50 books and booklets published in it (Oraka p. 27). saxywale: Are you asking again? The most revered Igbo scholar, Achebe had already admitted that long ago. Their new love FFK had also schooled them on some manners a short time ago. Instead of facing the main message about their lack of a cultural or academic history, they all rallied against him over the 3 Igbo flings he had in the past because one of them became their de facto queen. When the dust finally settled with all sorts of ultimatums gone by without FFK retracting his statement about the flings, they conceded and gifted him with another Igbo concubine. 5 Likes |

Udmaster: You want me to rejoice with you over achievements made by Igbo women in the 21st century? Don't you know that Yoruba women had long achieved greater firsts in the 1st half of the 20th century, and more in the 2nd half of that century? Well if Igbo men could play catchup, why should we expect a better performance from the females. You are the catchup tribe. It is your glory so just accept it and go to bed. Try not to wake-up in the morning before a Yoruba man ooo, because there's no recognition for that. 5 Likes |

mallamseifaldin:Bro, I feel your pain. It ain't our fault. We learned under very harsh conditions; no equipments to work with during our final year projects. We were limited by so many factors. Laboratories weren't equipped with tools talk more of state of the art equipments. We were inundated with bunch of theoretical technical jargons without practical applications. Our lecturers don't know how to communicate information and so on and so forth. Tell me, why employers won't call us half-baked graduates. It's a pity honestly. Some of these tourch-lights, lamps , wrist-watches we import are secondary school students projects, yet we import them into Nigeria with reckless abandon. I agree with you - we have failed! Nigerians are very intelligent and brilliant no doubt. 1 Like |
