Answer his questions.

e.g

why is it compulsory to receive the blessing of Ooni before a King is crowned in Benin?

Where did you hear that it is compulsory for a Benin King to receive the blessings of the Ooni before being crowned. How is the ceremony done, Who and who are the compulsory chiefs that must follow the King to Ife.

The Popularity and influence of the Ooni became this much because of the AWO/Akintola rift...Throughout History the Alaafin was the most influential yoruba king...During the agitation for independence and subsequent politicking, the Binis forged a common alliance with Yorubas, Awolowo and the Ooni were the main figures. Oba Akenzua particular did so much to make sure the mid-western region was also created out of the western region. Before that era there was no such hobnobbing of the Benin Kings and the Ooni.

Ovoranwen Nogbaisi never came to Ife for any blessings, his son Oba Aiguobasinwin Eweka II never did, Oba Akenzua never came for Blessings after his coronation.

In fact how many Yoruba Kings is it compulsory for to travel to Ife and receive blessings from the Ooni before being crowned. We have witnessed many coronations in yorubaland. Did the Alake go to Ife for blessings before being crowned, is it compulsory for the Alaafin go to Ife to receive blessings before being crowned, Which Alaketu, Onipopo, has gone to Ife to receive blessings before being crowned.

if Edo is not part of yoruba a answer this question

The First King of Benin is eweka son of Oranmiyan

how come first son of oranmiyan became King in Benin if u already have King existing?

Why does is necessary to bury the head of any late Oba of Benin at Ile Ife ?

why is it compulsory to receive the blessing of Ooni before a King is crowned in Benin?

kiss

Even if your assertions are true. Because One Ife Prince was borrowed to rule Benin now makes Benin part of Yoruba kingdom? Oduduwa came to Yoruba land and became a ruler. Does it make Yoruba a part of Oduduwa's ancestral/indigenous kingdom? So if one fulani man Altine ruled Enugu as a mayor many years it now makes Enugu part of Fulani? Hahahahaha people just come here to argue what they don't know. Even the traditional rulers expect the new once know the truth about all these and if you take a tribe to Benin kingdom today you will see for your self what everybody is arguing here.

The Yoruba Oduduwa was a Prince in Benin Kingdom but was wrongly accused and sent to exile in such case the throne will go to other person. But the gods were said to be with him and he performed wonders.

Bevause of the braveness and ability to perform so many wonders when the now Yoruba find him, they were amazed and said only descendant of the gods will be able to perform all this wonders and he was made King and according to history the gods was with him.

Later in Benin kingdom, the gods were angry and the truth was revered that the right person that was suppose to be king of Benin kingdom was the one banished and or else he is made King there shall be no peace in the land.

The people of Benin have to go and beg for their son to return and become King in other for peace to regn and to get the glory of their kingdom back.

But it was too late as the son was already doing so well in wilderness(the gods were with him) After much appealing and He decide to release his son to go with them and become King and to restore the lost glory back to the kingdom and for peace to regn again in Benin.

This is the truth and there is prove to this..visit Benin kingdom today and see for your self. Yoruba and Benin kingdom are one..let us Unit. Peace

Stop spewing trash every where. Am sure you believe Oduduwa fell from the sky. Use your head. EDO kingdom existed long before the Oyo Empire it took a Bini prince to create the Oyo Empire. The Bini prince was the one who gave you the Bini cultures and traditions. Dude read not just use wikipedia. Do you even know that the Benin Kingdom resisted the British forces which led to the destruction of the Kingdom and Banishing of the Kingdom.

I won't say much but this picture should tell you a story.

This Bini people should go and look for their lost son somewhere else.

The father of Oduduwa is Lamurudu. The word Oduduwa is Odu-to-da-iwa ie divination that preceeds good behaviour. Odu in this case is in relation to Odu-Ifa, which is the "holy verses" of ifaology.

Yoruba is not only the culture and a nation but a religion too.

The undeniable fact are:

They used to name their kings Ogisos

Oranmiyan impregnated their princess, who gave birth to Eweka, who started the Eweka Dynasty and he was the 1st Oba.

Oranmiyan named Bini from the word Ile-Ibinu, which is another Yoruba word. If he named your town, it is only normal that he would have named the title of your throne too.

We dare the Oba of Benin or stooges to declare they are not from the House Award Oduduwa. Let him utter it and let his ancestors place a curse on his lineage. We are daring him.

Benin people are not Yorubas but their crown and throne and title are ours, courtesy of the ruling dynasty that started by Oranmiyan.

They are therefore from the House of Oduduwa.

I dont know why these people just attempt to change history.

Artifact and scientific evidence shows Benin were ruled by Yorubas not the other way round.

Terracotta and clay works in Ile-Ife are dated older than benin. Yorubas taught benins how make artworks, fashion ...even style of government.

I think these Bini people just thrive on lying about everything. They're notorious/repulsive liars and have been like that since time immemorial. Go check all the fables they told the medieval European explorers about conquering kingdoms they never conquered and no proofs whatsoever of being conquered by anyone.

Basically, the loophole they use most times for their revisionism, is by tying the beginning of Yoruba history with Oyo - and not Ife. Once you deny them that since Oyo and the Oba dynasty in Bini branched out from the same tree and make it about Ife, based on timeline - they always have nowhere to hide.

They can't claim that Bini is older than Ife - impossible. Even the knowledge of the artworks they're known for is a corrupted version of the amazing Ife artworks, since Ife arts were based on realism, while Bini arts were based on finesse. And they did borrow a few things from Owo as well. They worship Yoruba gods. Heck, almost everything that makes them tick came from Yorubas.

The name "Oba" alone should tell any sane person that the crown is of Yoruba origin.

“The Ooni of Ife, by historical facts, is a son of the Oba of Benin, so they are not in the same class".

How can the guy from benin be contradicting himself by saying the Ooni of Ife was a son of the Oba of Benin and at the same time saying that the Oba of Benin stool has no relationship with the Yoruba race. I don't get it.

you know this are historical accounts formed merged with some folklore so dont take them seriously.

however the statement isn't self contradictory. The stool having no relationship means the stool and the Oba of benin never came from yoruba land. That a Benin prince setup the stool in Ife doesnt mean vice versa.

note that the yoruba account says that the binis banished their prince and heir apparent (Ogiso dynasty) and needed a king and asked the ife king to give them his son who became Oba Eweka 1.

The benin account is that the prince they banished "Omo-odua" founded Ife and sent his grandson back to benin.
