That was simply an objective statement.

The focus is the fight against terror, any other issue (such as islamization) is simply a baseless distraction.
boo-hoo. Objective statement my left balls. Don't we have Christians in d military? Ur president is a mofo

if GEJ put more seriousness fighting Boko Haram, sure he'll still be in Power by now....

excel101:
What is the objectivity there? Did the president not promised us to get rid of BH within 2months after swearing in, were they (APC Buhari inclusive) not against GEJ when he was forming ally with the neighbouring West African countries to fight BH. How come not long after Buhari was sworn he started aligning with other west African country to fight BH(exactly what he criticized GEJ administration for). Now he has gone to make Nigeria a member of an Islamic organisation to fight BH. These are all an hidden agenda, he's gradually unmasking himself.

Are there no Christians among the military personnel that has been fighting Bokoharam all these while?

Or has it become the duty of armless Christians/Muslims to fight Bokoharam?

Mr president please talk sensibly like the president you are

This way of reasoning is too cheap
In 2019 please let your sensible contest and become president.

He has finally played into the hands of isis. We should have fought it like it was just some kind of misunderstanding from the north. Now he has given Nigeria global attention for isis to strike. The country is Doomed because isis is more strategic. Any bomb throw to south-east, South-south, South-west then Nigeria will shelter like a piece of glass. This will result to tribal war.

PMB was right and wrong at d same time, he was right in saying Boko haram claimed to be an islam sect so teaming up with Saudi isn't bad, since it is islam vs anti islam issues. He was wrong to ask Christians to Fight boko haram

Shut up , he said what I would have said and I am an active Christian. So many people in the south have this strong opinion that intends to debase anyone north of the Niger and Muslims as inconsequential beasts, lacking in education and therefore should not be considered.

They are more concerned if they hear of a church bombed but never care about the more than 5 mosques bombed and Muslims killed.

Nigeria has an equal population of Christians and Muslims, we have provided support for western Christian based caolitions under NATO and done their bidding in Liberia, Sierra Leon and Somalia without anyone having a problem.

We are suffering from a serious dreg, individuals who have taken territory in the past and have allied with ISIS a global threath all under the false banner of Islamic idealisms, it is most appropriate that the central country for correct Islamic doctrine establishes a coalition of fellow Muslims who would crush these animals be it Boko Haram , ISIS, Al Queda in the magreb, Al shabab and Nigeria being a victim of these animals should be part of that.

The president is correct any Christians who have a problem with it should join the fight, so many times good Muslims have been told to address this matter and now they are doing just that.
Crap talk.so U mean no xtian are there fighting the troops?so the whole NA are made up of Muslim right? Plz stop that thing making you high. The number one citizen is not meant to put any one of his people down.

Stop running ur mouth anyhow. Has a Christian ever initiated a religious crisis in Nigeria b4, do you know the number of Christians that has been killed or number of churches razed as a result of these religious crisis(initiated by Muslims). The recent one being the fulani herdsmen brutality which is gradually coming to the south. You're just deceiving ursef cos u're an Islam, u think u we'll be deceived.

North of the Nigerian border is chad a very large territory predominantly Muslims, an unstable country politically and a wide expanse of land which their military cannot protect, that country is bordered with another nation, Lybia where IS has taken full control of several posts and are fixing to expand operations with the aim of occupying land from Tripoli to Abuja (this exact statement ISIS have claimed themselves) , there is Also shabab whonhave been causing havoc in Kenya and Somalia.

So if you have had your head in lala land , it's time to pluck it out, there is a war out there and it is fixing for Nigeria, no way we can get out of it.
Stop those lies, cos they are in Libya for the libyans and not Nigeria. Its still not a reason to be part of the Islamic organisation.

sirklin:
President Muhammadu Buhari has confirmed Nigeria’s membership of the Islamic Coalition Against Terrorism being spearheaded by Saudi Arabia amidst speculations of alleged plan to Islamise the country.

The President made the disclosure in an interview he granted to Al-Jazeera during his recent visit to Doha, Qatar, while the interview was aired on Saturday.

When asked whether Nigeria was part of the Islamic coalition, Buhari answered in the affirmative.

He attributed the reason behind the decision to the fact that there are terrorists in Nigeria who claim to be Muslims.

“We are part of it (the Islamic coalition) because we’ve got terrorists in Nigeria that everybody knows which claim that they are Islamic.

“So, if there’s an Islamic coalition to fight terrorism, Nigeria will be part of it because we are casualties of Islamic terrorism,” the President said.

Buhari said he discussed Nigeria’s membership of the coalition with King Salman Bin Abdul-Aziz during their meeting in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia when he visited the country recently.

He however did not disclose how the membership of the Islamic coalition would be beneficial to Nigeria when asked to do so.

He said it would be wrong to disclose the details to the media.

“Well, that we mentioned under Lake Chad Basin Commission, our regional grouping compromising Cameroon, Chad, Niger, Nigeria and Benin and we dedicated a certain number of troops to be deployed in our own sub-region and I don’t think we have to tell the press the details of that,” he simply said.

Buhari however justified Nigeria’s membership of the Islamic coalition, saying there is nothing wrong in joining the coalition since members of the Boko Haram sect fighting in Nigeria have claimed they are Muslims even when their activities are anti-Islam.

He added that the Boko Haram itself had declared loyalty to ISIS

He said, “I’ve just told you it is the Boko Haram itself that declared loyalty to ISIS.

“ISIS is basically based in Islamic countries. Now, if there’s a coalition to fight Islamic terrorism, why can’t Nigeria be part of it, while those that are fighting in Nigeria as Boko Haram claim to be Muslims? But the way they are doing it is anti-Islamic.”

When confronted with the fact that Nigeria has large populations of both Muslims and Christians and that some Christians are complaining that he is giving Islamic identity to the country by his actions, Buhari wondered why the Christians who are complaining have not deemed it fit to confront members of Boko Haram in the North East or militants in the South South

“Why can’t those Christians that complained go and fight terrorism in Nigeria or fight the militancy in the South. It’s Nigeria that matters, not the opinion of some religious bigots,” he declared.

The President however denied any attempt to change the religious identity of the country.

He said, “How can I change the religious identity of Nigeria?

“No religion advocates hurting the innocent and just because the Muslims are the ones that claim to be Boko Haram and they are killing innocent people whether in the church, in the bus or in the market place, then I will just sit and look at them because I too am a Muslim? Islam is against injustice in any form.”

lol, what a clown

How old are you again

Do you know how ridiculous you sound, Evangelism laws in kaduna !, you should stop reading blogs and start thinking for yourself, there is no evangelism law in kaduna, there is however a law which bans the distribution of media containing hate speech, use of megaphones which brings about noise pollution, use of external PA systems outside mosques and churches , public preaching (christian, Muslim or otherwise) without a permit from the state. This law is one which exists in all sane countries of the world I have visited, it is there to curb false prophets and Islamic clerics who are preaching dangerous doctrine, prevents the likes of Rev king and El-Zhakarsy, Mohammed Yusuf etc from ever springing up again.

Individuals like yourself who have never been to the north would not know that Kaduna has a large population of northern Christians, many mega churches have a significant operation base there, from winners to RCCG.

And please stop these false reports of rampant abductions, an abduction for whatever purpose is a crime, be it for rituals, or forced marriage which accounts for less than 0.1% of the over 100 abductions daily in this country.

I am yet to hear of people going on twitter to speak of the sad cases of people who are victims of rituals , organ theft, sex slaves to Europe and Middle east. Those are the where the alarming numbers exists and the prime perpetrators are south of the Niger.

Wake up !

even if i wanna buy the arguments of those that claim muslims are now leading the way in the fight, the point is, why put a whole secular nation under an islamic umbrella?

you want to show that you are fighting as a muslim, fine, but dont umbrella a secular nation.

fraance was attacked, U.S 911, Uk... are they all members?
