I seriously do not see why anyone would want to have a Jet in the first place.It is expensive to buy/maintain and a lot of those funds could alternatively go to better causes.

There are a thousand and one reasons why anyone would buy a jet, and regardless of buying a jet or not would not stop a better cause. Someone who buys a jet and also does good things does it, while someone who buys a jet and doesn't, well, doesn't. Although its expensive to buy and maintain depending on what size, that for what its worth.

i see a lot of people dont understand that a jet is a kind of aircraft. and those that try to correct them are scorned as ITKs.

If the question is specifically about owning a jet, business or private jets, like Citations and gulfstreams, forgetaboutit!
