If its toks ..make sure its at a car dtand with a dealer that has integrity. Ho about 3 days bedore the day u decide to buy it. Take your tine on any car pf your choice.ignore any sweet mouth from anyone..check the underneath.check the exhaust.check the aeats.etc...engine and chasis u will be able to detect if it had accident before..there would be signs like odd painting colour..mismatched headlights..bonet not straight jus like ojb fake lambo.the coolant reservoir tank body must be as white as powder detergent and not pale or dull brown...(if dull brown..na naija used car) headlights must be sparkling diamond colour or a lil darker...if its dull and looking old..naija us3d car... it mist have extra tyre..spanner..ac must be working direct not cut and join.... . Check the door and the side pillars to see if there is any dent or break on the body and repainted to reaemble toks...if u find error pls feel free to run away..dont look any body face...run. if u decide to buy a car..it mustnt be that day...pre inspection first 3 days and after 4 days ho and buy any car u wish. Thanks for your insults mixed with advice. Considering how complicated it can be clearing goods bought from abroad, don't you think going for Tokunbo cars may worth it? Also, not everyone can navigate the rigours involved in getting a car abroad and then shipping it down. Perhaps you may have some insights to share on this.

I'm based in Lagos, not Ibadan, so I can't recommend a specific dealer there. But from 12 years in Ladipo Market, here's what I tell anyone buying a tokunbo car:1. Bring a trusted mechanic — not the seller's mechanic. Let someone who works for YOU inspect the car.2. Check the engine — start it cold, listen for knocking, check for smoke from the exhaust. Blue smoke = engine burning oil, white smoke = coolant leak.3. Check the gearbox — test drive it. Gear changes should be smooth. If it jerks or delays, walk away.4. Check for accident signs — look at the body panels, paint consistency, and frame under the hood. If panels don't line up or paint shades differ, it was likely in an accident.5. Check the suspension — push down on each corner of the car. It should bounce once and settle. More than that = worn shocks.6. Ask for the vehicle history — where was it imported from? Some tokunbo cars are flood-damaged vehicles from the US.Take your time. Don't let anyone rush you into paying. A good tokunbo car will serve you well if you inspect properly.
