Thanks ma'm for your patronage. U may follow some of my postings where I tried to elucidate on how most of these Power Bank works.
If U are also importing from a wholesaler, note that, most of the written capacities U see are not all that they seem. Virtually many power banks' wholesalers won't tell U some truths about their products.

So for those buying 50,000mAh, 30,000mAh etc, don't be all glad U're buying what was crested on your P.B. Only a few stamped high capacity are worth buying.

There is also a limit to the capacity a wholesaler /supplier can sell. Deal with Manufacturers if U can negotiate MOQ with them.

I must admit, Port Harcourt J.V meeting was a clear success with a gathering of bright like-minds.

PHC was agreed to be the Southern Regional Head while other states and interested partners in the south would establish a connect with PHC.

OPENING PRAYER

The meeting began at 11:30am with an opening prayer said by Op4real.


INTRODUCTION

After the opening prayer, Princeuk21, who was the pro tem coordinator chairing the meeting asked members to introduce themselves using their real names and nairlaland I.D.


OPENING REMARKS

The opening remarks were said by 2fishes, who thanked everyone for making the meeting possible with their attendance and also made references to Dr. El matteo and SurveyCash for being great minds of their time, using the e-platform to impact lives. He stressed that the main objectives of the day's discussion includes choice of marketable products based on need, and generally the modus operandi which XYZ JOINT Venture promulgate when it eventually takes off and how we are to organize ourselves so as to be a part of the larger Joint Venture business with the South-south people.
He was also delighted that a number of the attendees have made importation of one kind of item or the other. He urged everyone to put their minds in oneness to enable us attain a great feat.


DELIBERATIONS

@Hunda who was very active in proffering suggestions, gave instances of Port Harcourt market and its trending needs. From his experience, there are some worthy product items that could be imported at really cheap rates but that the cost of shipping is something to worry about due to big weights; Wash Machine [portable] for example. This was backed by @2fishes and some members.

References were made to quality and durability of like products and, the need for accomodating Chris Vic Mall (CVM) as a quintessential feature in XYZ Joint Venture.

Products such as women accessories(Jewelry); I.T gadgets(Wi-fi, etc) and Solar Power Bank were suggested by @Adikij, @Princeuk21 and @Op4real and was graciously supported by the others.

@Wakes also placed emphasis on ensuring quality of products before branding.

@2fishes proposed to the house to sustain, Portable Washing Machine and Solar Power bank as tentative products pending the outcome of Lagor decision, while we continue in our varying efforts of market survey /research; the motion was seconded by @Princeuk21 and supported by @Wakes , Hunda and @Dickjay.

Other Pending Issues;

Incorporating Marketers across the other 6 states in the South-South, albeit, references were mae to @fun club's idea and likewise Dr. El matteos'


@Dickjay suggested Mobile Phone wrist Watch, which he also wore to the meeting. He brought up the idea of establishing a communication line between fellow members of the zone which was consented by @hunda and agreed by the whole.

After extensive deliberation, members settled on the following items that would sell well in PHC and the South; These are Mobile (phone) Wrist Watch, Women accessories (Jewelry), I.T gadgets (wi-Fi, etc) and rechargable Power Bank. It was agreed that these selected items should be recommended to the Lagos people for further deliberation and imput.


:::Product of the day:::
@2fishes gave a supposedly brief explanatory insight on the product which captured the day - Power Bank. The whole house took a firm standing, and a unanimous consensus was reached on recommending the product of the day to the JV HQ in Lagos for necessasy actions and inputs.

The newly elected co-ordinator for the zone in person of Princeuk21, thanked everyone for coming and thanked 2fishes for coming all the way. He said that with time, it would be decided how frequently the meeting would be holding.

2fishes reminded the coordinator of ITEM 7, which got a positive nod by @Perp who instigated everyone with her incessant 'gospel' smiles.

Item 7 was sponsored by @Wakes and @Dickjay.


ADJOURNMENT

2fishes moved a motion for the meeting to be adjourned and it was seconded by PrinceUK21.

texaco1: Too many cooks spoils the soup,you don't need 100 ppl to start this thing ,time is been wasted ,I am definitely sure that the way things are going this jv thing may not kick off till october.
Just 10 ppl is enough to start ,others can join later .that is why I like the ijebu ode guys I know they are already doing something.there is no need for all these state by state groupings .I can bet it most of these state by state groups will start getting their own ideas that why should they send money to lagos when they themselves can buy it and they know how to bring it in.
The best modus for operations should be just 10 ppl or 20 the number should be very very minimal ,they should contribute and buy NOW bring the items in and find marketers nationwide,this ideas of share holders and so on is too big for you guys sorry to say.now talk is sweet and let money enter then you will see the true color of everybody.
Like I always say ,I maybe wrong though or my words may be harsh but I am just saying what I think.

surveycash: @2fishes...tentative is not good enough for longevity. I deal with tabs and I'm yet to see one I can stamp my name on. I've got 1 or 2 that outperform than the others but for longevity , am still skeptical but if the name pop up from Toluax,klens n other dealers, we may pick it then.

surveycash: @2fishes...seem we are yet to be on the same page on the customization issue. I know about MOQ for customization and I have got a manufacturer to customize google itab for me for even less than the MOQ. My concern is, is there any product from China you can vouch for in terms quality and durability to be ready to put your brand on it?

El Matteo: I believe if we are to import anything, then we have to be 101% sure of the quality. This JV is born out of the collaboration of individuals who have been into importation so I believe that to an extent, getting quality stuffs shouldnt be a big problem.

I suggest we communicate adequately with the supplier and tell him exactly what we want so they can even tailor it to our taste. We can also make sample orders in order to be sure of the quality so we can have ample time to assess the quality before we make our final major orders. This may take some time but I believe something like this should be meticulously orchestrated so we dont end up losing.

If we can do this, then we should have no problem with the customization cos we can vouch for the quality.

Whenever the Bossman speaks, I literarily run out of words to say. I couldn't agree more!

@SurveyCash, I think it doesn't matter whether anyone including myself have a readily manufacturer that could offer quality products according to specifications; let there still be sample orders with customized +Logo to establish adequate scrutiny of both the supplier and the product.

At this stage contributions are suggestive and not carved gold. From experience, is there any powerbank you can stamp you name on? You know a good name is difficult to build but easily dent by a single blemish. If we are putting our name on an item, then it must have stood the test of time.

So long U are buying an item from a manufacturer at a required MOQ. That's why it is called customization. If this 'XYZ' JV initiative must come to fruition, research on product items and possible negotiations with manufacturers ought to have been on at this time.

Remember, Pricing is what would essentially distinct 'XYZ' JV from the other markets; and this is one of the sole reasons I would key in 101% into this initiative. For instance, the most calls I get for the purchase of my Power Banks are prize negotiation and reduction, but I try to explain to them professionally some of the things involved. The Marketing Scheme should be, if U sell one piece of an item, U get your commission instantly.

Another thing is, Pricing, Pricing and Pricing.... What is the Pricing structure going to be like.
