WelcomeToBiafra:
When you see most white people in Nigeria you don't know they're Foreign terrorist, just like how terrorist Lugard and his Fulani terrorist girlfriend came, massacred, stole and destroyed our land at the end of their attack Lugard terrorist girlfriend named our land "niggeria" that it's been terrorized by foreign and their local terrorist leaders, going about as political parties leaders both in government and oppositions parties.

If you doubt me, ask Canadian court of law...
Nigeria was named after River Niger which existed in ancient maps. Same with Niger. The river runs through both countries.

Obj has never spoken about this, at least not to my knowledge, but it was the complaint by those who know about power around that 2008 period.

The probe itself was probably well-intentioned but the approach is stopping the ship that had already sailed was a bad move. To be fair to Yar Adua, it was the Senate that was mostly responsible for that.

He may have been a good man, but with due respect to him, there were question marks about his credentials as a leader. It was in his time we were hearing 8 point agenda. What many young people do not realize is that there were a lots of complain about his leadership style and people were saying he should reduce the 8 point agenda to 1 since it was looking like he was overwhelmed.

Maybe reducing fuel price is what you like about him, it was a populist move but on the long run was a bad move. CAnceling the sale of the refineries was another major bad thing. Then the investment in the power sector which they prematurely began to probe is why we are still where we are in terms of power.

The power plants that were coming into the country were abandoned at the ports because there was no more funding to get them out and continue with the power plan.

GEJ just came and decided that looting was what he should be remembered for
No funding to clear NIGERIA power plants in NIGERIA ports. Do you truly believe that bobo ? Oga Obasanjo should bless us with billions and bail us out of his way out. Not that in spirit he will be wiring us small small money every 4yrs like Abacha our Sugar Daddy.

No it doesn’t but demonstrates a person with purpose and a desire to leave a legacy and affect lives around them.

A taker will not understand but a giver will and that is why they never lack.

Some call it philanthropy. May God cause you to have a giving spirit.
It’s a public school. Renovations is the responsibility of the government. If she wants to truly give she can build a school and give it away. I won’t applaud her for going to government property to fix it. That’s government failure. It’s not about giving heart. It’s performative.

Hot air! Hot air!! Hot air!!!

You making a claim is the one to provide evidence for your claim, not me or anyone else.

The women you know... and since when is your subjective opinion, if it is actually true, become a good reference in this diacussion?

I should go to prison as if you have ever been there?

I don't need to go to prisons to know that what you are saying is false; I only need to check the countries around the world, especially those ones that do not allow polygamy to see that your idea that polygamy raises social deviants is false!

The US is one country ruled by the falsehood propagated by church leaders that polygamy is bad and so, it is not legal in that country. Yet, almost 100% of the inmates CAME FROM MONOGAMOUS HOMES!

If you are refering to baby mamarism in the black community as the root cause of the high number of inmates they have, well you just said it: baby mamarism. Baby mamarism IS NOT POLYGAMY.

By definition, polyagamy (polygyny) is the type of MARRIAGE in which one man is married to more than one wife. Apart from Black American Muslims, who by the way are the EXTREEM minority in that community, Black Americans are mostly christians and through the deception of the church leaders, mainly have monogamous homes. Yet, they are almost synonymous with crime violence and going to prison.

Lets leave the US and go to other countries where polygamy is disallowed.

Brazil, Argentina, the whole of South America, the Carribean, Europe including Russia, Japan, the two Koreas, China, Vietnam, the Philipines, Australia and New Zeeland... In all these countries, are majority of the inmates also from polygamous homes too, if polygamy causes deviance? If your hypothesis is true, then why is the US the country with the highest number of inmates in this world? Why does Russia have the second highest? And China too?

You know what a former Soviet Propaganda executive once said? Any propaganda not based on truth, is bad propaganda. This means if you want to paint a thing black using propaganda, you should base it on what is true about what you want to paint black; other wise, your propaganda would be so ridoculous because it can easily be seen as false!

So, again, try to bring up a better arguement.

Sagefromtheeast:
Your response is passionate, but it misrepresents both the argument and the history behind it. No one is asking anyone to “throw away identity.” Identity is not erased when you share citizenship rights — it is deepened by choice rather than enforced by fear. The bill does not abolish Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, or any other identity; it simply asks whether, after decades of residency, paying taxes, and contributing to a community, a Nigerian citizen should still be treated as an outsider in his own country.

You say tribal identity has existed for thousands of years — true. But Nigeria as a modern state is barely a century old. The British didn’t create our bloodlines, but they did create the rigid administrative boundaries that turned natural diversity into political weaponry. What is being questioned is not your heritage, but whether state power should keep policing ancestry in 2025.

As for “rudeness” and “bad upbringing” — reducing a constitutional debate to personal insults only proves how fragile these walls are. Good governance doesn’t depend on where someone’s grandparents were born. The Yoruba people have long welcomed millions from other regions who have built thriving businesses and families in Lagos, Ibadan, and Akure without destroying Yoruba culture. The fear that granting civic equality would erase your heritage is not backed by history — it’s backed by anxiety.

Finally, to say “at least you are able to live in peace in the SW” is precisely the point: Nigerians already live and work everywhere. What this bill asks is whether they should keep doing so at the mercy of local mood swings, or as full citizens under one flag. True confidence in one’s culture does not need legal walls to survive.

If we really believe in federal unity, then equal rights should not feel like charity. They should feel like nationhood.
You just de rise your blood pressure for nothing. Nigerians have rejected the bill. Apply this energy to your state. I am currently in my state pressing my Governor neck. Focus on what you have and practice contentment. Are you not able to live and work in Sw? Did anybody stop you? When SE has been unlivable is it not SW you live? But that’s not enough. Well we don’t have more than that to offer. So, maybe try your village.

You confirmed it once more that the antagonism against polygamy comes from nothing but lies and distortion of the truth.

First of all, how did you cone about your figure that 90% of men who've got a polygamous home cannot take care of their homes? And juat because a thing is bad for a particular period for a man does not mean things have always been that way or will always be the same. Plus, monogamy seem to have that reality as well. So, why condemn polygamy for what, in the first place, is not true and then don't do the same for monogamy

As for the ''alot of touts are from polygamy'', well, that could not have been more funny and further from the truth.

In the East and South-South where christianity is more prevalent (although, polygamy is as christian as holy communion and baptism are christian), there are thousands and milkions of touts. ARE THEY FROM POLYGAMOUS HOMES TOO? All the drug dealers and kidnappers in the east are from polygamous homes too?

It is so easy to debunk all the false teaching against polygamy. Try to bring up better arguements againt polygamy.

@Righteousness @SirTee15 @MaxInDHouse @StillDTruth @DTruthSpeaker
Go and do your research. Nobody need help and work harder than 90% of women in polygamous marriage. I know how much I have helped and how many have to keep boyfriend to take care of their kids. Yes, most of the touts and criminals are from polygamous home. Just go to the prison and ask. It’s not every child you can bring up in such environment and they will succeed. Raising kids require a lot of monitoring which don’t exist in polygamous home. You actually have to be present as a parent to raise good children. It is not the duty of one parent alone. Father and mother have different roles in a child’s life.

Again, I stand on it that 90% of polygamous wives are single mother. Even one prominent politicians who is known for many wives, I know the shege his wives are seeing raising children he hardly even know. Leave story.

You are so wrong.
Women in polygamous marriages actually wedded to their husbands and all wives know each other. Sometimes, they live under the same roof or in the same compound.
Baby mamas are kept hidden, not known to the real wife and live far away from the real family. But people like you will know the difference when a sugar daddy later abandon his baby mama and stop looking after her and providing her needs
90% of polygamous men cannot afford those wives. The women work harder than babymama to provide for those kids. Being a husband is not only about paying bride price. A lot of these touts on the road are children from polygamous home who did not have opportunity and the father did not have time. Some don’t even know who and who are their children. We see it everyday.
