Hi kAZZY,

Here's your diagnostics. Turn off > On again. Start ejecting.

Any green lights on the drive ? Any cd/dvd inside the drive

If no joy, look at the side of the cd drive. Any holes, if there is

find a paper clip and carefully eject it. Good luck

i have an hp and never encountered any issues with the dvd. if the laptop is new it should still be under warranty so get it fixed before the warranty runs out
