Our nation does not only need specialist to bring about change that we desire in all sectors of economy. but we need people with fear of God, who will actually feel the pains of the masses. We have been highly getting it wrong by calling all this Nigerians in diaspora to come and rule us here. They have been failing ever since cos we believe Change- bringing is all about grammar and white/oyinbo people intelligence. We disregard those who are capable of making difference here in Nigeria becos they have not travelled to white people's land...

I av said it, PDP don't need to oppose APC. They are opposing themselves already.

Nigerians are already seeing their incompetence crystal clear like Meth.

PDP should just focus on their house and gather themselves together and av a successful convention.

And watch how PDP will start sweeping elections across the country an eventually take over the Senate.

God bless Nigeria.
Listen to yourself. The KOWA party of nigeria stand a bettter chance of ruling this country than PDP. Sixteen years of waste and misrule and you expect nigerians to put all that aside and bring back that plague of a party back to power.
Yes, nigerians are having a rough time with APC in power, but let us remind ourselves that part of the problem the ruling party is facing has a lot to do with the misrules of past years (not trying to absolve APC).

Asking for a PDP comeback at this stage of our democracy will be tantamount to national retrogression.

To all reasonable observer, and not those blind with ethnicitity, the bold is the crux of the matter.
Kachikwu is serving an APC government and Tinubu is an APC leader, he is therefore fully justified to caution Kachikwu not to set the party against Nigerians.
I don't know how and why is the issue that hard people to understand but those blind with ethnicity.
Nobody said he should not caution him, but what is his reason for doing so, did he want kachikwu to lie that everything will turn around very soon?
Kachikwu just told Nigerians the truth, which is "they are working to turn everything around but Nigerians shouldn't expect it soon" he is not a magician to make it happen soon.
Re: Presidency Counters Tinubu On Kachikwu, Fuel Scarcity by OpinionCounts(m): 8:55am On Mar 28, 2016
It is so shameful and hypocritical that no one in the APC is questioning the minister for petroleum(Buhari) about the current hardship and problems in the ministry he heads, rather they are shamelessly disturbing the second in command. Its like blaming the VP of the country while exonerating the president. I did not know APC leaders especially Tinubu could be this cowardly. If this were to be GEJ they would all bev shouting at him incompetence!! incompetence!!! even when he is not the petroleum minister.

I have the maximum respect for Tinubu and he has the right to ask for clarification but not to ask for the resignation of the minister on issue that has been a normal trend.
And I think for the minister giving a time frame was being honest and not disrespectful as some claimed.
Remember, the last time we had fuel scarcity the government was accused of not coming out to tell Nigerians the true state of things and now that he has done that he's been crucified.
Why?

This is by no means exhaustive.

- supervising all petroleum industry operations being carried out under licences and leases in the country in order to ensure compliance with the applicable laws and regulations in line with good oil producing practices.

• enforcing safety and environmental regulations and ensuring that those operations conform to national and international industry practices and standards.

• keeping and updating records on petroleum industry operations, particularly on matters relating to petroleum reserves, production and exports of crude oil, gas and condensate, licenses and leases as well as rendering regular reports on them to Government.

• advising Government and relevant Agencies on technical matters and policies which may have impact on the administration and control of petroleum.

• processing all applications for licenses so as to ensure compliance with laid-down guidelines before making recommendations to the Honourable Minister of Petroleum Resources.

• ensuring timely and adequate payments of all rents and royalties as at when due.

• Monitors Government Indigenisation policy to ensure that local content philosophy is achievable.

Diplomacy is essential in every business administration or management. Politics is a business and it requires diplomacy too.

Ibe Kachikwu should learn the art of diplomacy in communication.

His statements are sometimes careless and unprofessionally constructed.

More careless than El Rufai and the president, right? When the president says it, he is sincere and when Ibe does same he is careless

Tinubu is Yoruba. That Yoruba mindset which does not allow an average Yoruba to accept Igbo in Nigeria's govt influenced Tinubu's outburst.

Nearly every Igbo, no not nearly, in fact, every Igbo in Jonathan's govt was fingered by Yoruba for demolition or jail, starting from the Immigration woman to the Chief of Army Staff, Ihejirika to Aviation Minister, to Ngozi Iweallah and even to an Ijaw woman because she was married to an Igbo, Deziani Madueke.

Tinubu acted the normal act.
Watch out, before long, Onu and Ngige shall start to feel the heat from the same people.

I know some correct logic standing upside down heads will say oh Madueke was corrupt but Kachukwu and his fulani brother not corrupt but can not perform magic to give Nigeria Fuel isn't

So biko no one asked him to lie, he should be sensitive and go and work or tender his resignation if he cant carry on or if he is under presure. Thanks

I'd Comment Later, Still Sleeping. But I Have A Dream APC Is A Disaster.

Modified: Tinubu Is A Nigerian And So Reserves His Right To Express Himself, But Calling For Kachikwu's Head Was Going Off The Line. As We All Know Buhari Made Himself The Oil Minister, And Should Actually Be Taking The Shots.

Talking About Magic, Where Will Kachikwu Draw The Wand In May That's So Difficult To Perform At The Moment?
I've gone through the speech itself, he never asked him to quit, he only said he wasn't forced to take the job and he should address the nation with compassion and empathy. Na one useless SS APC group/man said he should resign.

So Kachikwu is right abi,Nigerians are wrong ,totally wrong to have voted for Buhari ..I think we made a mistake indeed..we won't repeat the same mistake in 2019 in Jesus name. Each party should however give us correct & better alternative.we don't need arrogant people in power ..we need those who know & understand the essence of power . Tinubu & co should into deep searching for a better alternative for Nigeria if APC must remain relevant still. We need digital thinking, vision carrying leader that is brain & brown. No room for executive lawlessness in Nigeria

My views on anything petroleum are well known so there's no need for me to comment on this viscious cycle of failure. But on the political side of things, Tinubu has every rightht to call things to order in as much as it affects the political fortunes of the party. He has steered clearly away from the day to day running of government which is right but feels he has to step in when his job is made all the more difficult by the government. The only thing I wish is that it doesn't become a habit where politics becomes entangled in governance, it is done more privately and it is done in the right spirit if not it can so easily destroy the party. It is one thing the opposing PDP must learn. They did not know where the lines were and so tripped over them time and again until their goodwill was completely lost.

Opposition and internal democracy is good. But it must be done in absolute wisdom. And yes. Buhari is ultimately responsible for what happens in the petroleum sector. He is the executive in chief there. This is why he should not have placed that responsibility upon himself, because of consequences such as this. He is absolutely to blame for the crises.

The fact remains that Kachikwu's statement was largely insensitive and I back Tinubus stand on the issue.

What Nigerians want is reassurance that the queues would disappear as quickly as possible as the NNPC is working hard and doing everything possible to ensure sufficient availability of petroleum products.

We do not have to be rudely reminded that we did not appoint a magician as NNPC GMD. If he can't stand the heat, he should leave the damn kitchen.

Modified

For all those asking for PMB's head:

The Minister of Petroleum's functions are different from that of the NNPC GMD. The NNPC is directly responsible for importation, refining, distribution and supply. Hence the heat on Kachikwu & not Buhari.

after the brussels attack that killed atleast 30 people, some ministers offered to resign taking responsibility for the attack.
I believe there r directors in the aviatio , transport sector there but the ministers offered to resign not putting blame on people but taking the blame.
buhari is d minister for petroleumm, anything his surbodinate says or do is on him.

Some Nigerians like their leaders to be lying to them and given them fake hope, that is why Nigeria is poo, in other part of the world, the politicians tell the masses the truth, if something go wrong, they will tell the masses how many months it will take to fix it. You guys are used to lying and liars giving you fake hope, why people continue to suffer, Sacking Kachukwu will not solve the problem because he told Nigerians the true situation of things, resignation of Barth Nnaji then, did not bring any improvement in the power sector

You are very wise

The same Tinuthief did not speak against Fashola call for tariff increase

He did not speak against Lia Mohammed over his comment on APC losing control of the economy

They fail to realise that God is watching since the Igbos complained to Him

This is why his people will never progress above the Igbos

I move a motion for the removal of jagaban from the titles given to the biggest thief on planet earth.
fashola told nigerians after the aftermath of electricity bill increase to take it as a bitter pill, this mumu jagaban no caution am considering the fact now that electricity has disappeared n bills r on the high side.
kachikwu come talk him own, the thief n jagaban in stealing show body, between power n fuel which is more beneficial to nigerians of low class?
if there is light, there wont be panic buying cos 70percent of people buying fuel r doing so for their generator sets.
why r these yellowbar so hypocritical?
