Yes they are, but I feel he will adapt faster at Villa since he's used to the English culture.

Aston villa are performing well beyond expectations. Many of their performing stars may likey leave and if care is not taken, they will battle relegation come next season

I do think the gap is closing. The talents in world football right now are spread across countries. Apart from France, no other country has an exceptional football team in the world today!

Sorry, but African teams have not done enough to merit winning the World Cup.

Looking across from Morocco through Tunisia and Algeria to Egypt and from Senegal through Ghana and CIV to Nigeria, none of these countries has what it takes to even Make the semis.

You don't understand the politics involved in world cup brother. First of all, Most European countries has a developed economy and the biggest clubs in the world. Their allegiance is towards their own. Their players get signed to the best clubs in the world and play at the best leagues in the world. During the world cup, it's clear and evident. You won't understand but personally I'm not enthusiastic about the world cup anymore and I am tired of SA/EU team keep winnings

African teams are only missing luck. One day things will click and an African team will go all the way.

My friend, it's deeper than that. The best clubs in the world don't give Africans enough chances rather they sign their own. So, by default, the team with the most Quality players at Quality teams usually end up winning the world cup. There's a reason why only European and South American teams has ever won it. Also, Biased and bad officiating, Rankings, Wc draws usually favors Europe and South American teams

I agree with you! No one ever thought an African team would win a soccer Olympic gold medal. It happened! Nigeria then Cameroon! We almost won it a third time!

This here is the reason we won't win yet. Instead of improving our game we keep blaming others.

Are we all gonna pretend we didn't see what Rohr did in our last matches? Why do we always find it difficult to give honour to our most sacred jersey numbers like other teams do?

When Keshi gave the jersey number 10 to Gabriel Okechukwu, hell was let loose, why is everyone quiet now that Rohr did it Iwuala? Why is Rohr always being shielded despite his prominent inadequacies?

Luck alone cannot win you the World Cup. You need to have a team up to a certain standard and then an element of Luck can set in.

This is not about World Cup Politics. It is about raising your standards. The Economy of African countries, yes, is a major factor. Football development in this part of the world is still lagging what we have in Europe and South America. And until this gap is bridged, I don't see any African team winning the world cup, at least not with the current Economies and current crop of players we have in the continent from U17 to the senior teams.

I no go lie the thing shock me o. But remember that Rohr once gave that shirt to Chukwueze too, and that was when he was still completely untested in SE colours although Chukwueze later dropped it....perhaps after he realized that he can't bear the weight the shirt carries grin. So, this isn't his first time. I think Rohr gives the number to promising young talents who he envisions to be future pillars of his team. But this is wrong.

As far as I'm concerned, nobody in that team is worthy of that no. 10 shirt for now. We don't have a classic talismanic attacker or playmaker/ X-factor yet. Maybe if Moses was still in the team he would have a good claim to it, Iwobi too was expected to be the natural inheritor of the shirt after Mikel but since he has chosen to be as consistent as NEPA, I think that shirt number should be left unassigned for now. Joe Aribo is a fine player but I don't think he has demonstrated the level of class required to don that jersey. Abeg make Rohr get sense, no be must say every number must dey occupied.

That is age Grade, where Africa has won it all: U17, U20, U23.

The senior world cup is a different ball game. You need more than luck to even qualify not to talk of winning.

For you to win the World Cup, generally, you need nothing less than 8-10years of strategic planning which will also involve football Development across the country and that includes massive talents discovery and infrastructural development. Your national team needs to be rated among the best for a number of years and yours players need to be playing in some of the best clubs around the world for over a number of years also.

You need an assemblage of great players and a great team to win the WC.

Let us get the luck first. We have had only one lucky moment since 1998 which was Dzeko's goal getting cancelled in 2014.
Senegal and Morocco were unlucky at the last world cup.

Exactly and look how we did it. We could have easily lost in the semifinal and final but we had good fortunes.

It doesn't really matter who wears what. Performance is what is paramount.

Senegal where doing like school boys with all the talents there

Excellent points you make egbon. From talent discovery to development to training excellent coaches so many things need to be done by African countries in general. Love the point you made about economy. As long as our different countries on the continent don't have the financial muscle to back these aforementioned initiatives we will continue to rely on ishan, vibes and inshallah.
