If I go use this formation I go put Aina at RB (Shehu should secure himself with leather seatbelt on the bench)
LM will be Chukwueze

As we attack LM and RM becomes wingers. Balogun gets into the midfield to shield and recycle balls with Omeruo and Ajayi as the two CBs behind him

There's too much corruption in the team.

Personal interest supercedes National interest.

Else how can a bench warmer goalkeeper be called ahead of the ones playing and having clean sheets in the same NPLF, not to talk of the one doing well in a first division in Europe?

Despite the fact that the goalkeeper department caused us on two occasions in the AFCON.

Some people are just callous.

This goes to show that you don't follow the NPFL. Noble is not a bench warmer. He has claimed his shirt back from Olorunleke Ojo. At least it shows he is not complacent.
Let's try to check facts before coming into public space.

Football administrators in the country are not after the team's success, they are after their personal interest and force players on the coaches. This isn't the best team selection Nigeria can produce
Perfect!! In the light of this, can we have a comparative analysis of the invited players with the one that should have been there in their position.
I keep searching for Nigerian players in every database I can lay my hands on. But the ones breaking records are either in India, Vietnam, Tajkistan etc.

With this kind of formation, players will create very little but defend like they stole something..

All these people were hurriedly included because we experienced a lacuna that could not be immediately filled

Maduka became first choice because of an injury to Uzoho, else, he was just a backup

Uzoho came on off of his performance in La Liga, perhaps you have forgotten we got him from a top league. Akpeyi also benefitted from the same lacuna, because he was third choice. Ezenwa came off of a brilliant showing in CHAN.

Alampasu was invited once upon a time, but we don't know what became of his career and he has since fallen off.

If you have suggestions, state them and keep it moving. You will mention NPFL goalies that have neither qualified for CHAN nor put up a half decent showing on any continental competition. I know it cannot pass those ones, and it is hard to prove those ones are better.

At most, they are all within the same bracket

There was no lacuna because Dele Aiyenugba was still active in Israeli top division as at the time Ikeme was diagnosed in 2017. There were better goalkeepers in the NPLF then that were far better than Ezenwa who became the number 1 from number 3.

Why was Maduka brought from fourth division to the National team ahead of those in the NPLF in the first place? Remember, you said a goalkeeper must be tested in a quality league and put in a good numbers in their club before getting any call up?

Are you insinuating German fourth tier league is better than NPFL or even the Israeli’s second division were Adebayo Adeleye put in good numbers and had several clean sheets?

Was that not the reason Alampasu was dropped because he dropped to the Portuguese third tier league?

Uzoho didn’t have good numbers in the Laliga because he only played 2 games before he was called. Notwithstanding, he had good numbers in the second division and deserved to be called but he has not measured up to the standard set by previous SE goalkeeper.

The point is other goalkeepers should be tested to ascertain how good they are instead of these ones that have broken hearts.

focus on your strengths by cutting out the midfield? If your midfield weak, your attackers will be rendered useless.

My opinion on our lineup against ghana tomorrow: i feel the coach should go for the lineup he used at the nations cup(4-2-3-1) with osimhen and balogun who are not available at the nations cup coming in, cos we definitely need balogun's height for set piece. So the defence should be; aina, balogun, ekong and zaidu.

Then for the midfield, i will go for aribo and i feel onyeka should replace injured ndidi. Iheanacho should play as a supporting striker that he is, then osimhen as the number 9.

As for the two wingers, i feel the coach should go for lookman and chukwueze reason because they are our less physical wingers among the four available. So by the time it's second half the Ghanaians would have gotten tired, then simon and Dennis can come in and torment the tired Ghanaians defence.
Then for for goalkeeper uzoho should start.

Osimhen

Lookman iheanacho chukwueze

Aribo onyeka

Zaidu aina
Ekong balogun

Uzoho

What sort of Idiot plays the same 424 again in an away game? You must have not learnt anything from Tunisia

codemaniacs:

In football the formation is the structure, Dennis and lookman are wingers and can play those wings as effective as Simon and chukwueze.

Ndidi has been replaced by other effective DMs like Bonke and Onyeka.

They already meet my expectations unless they play extremely bad.

The bolded was necessary because Eguavoen doesn't seem to know the forwards that make his formation click and the players who make his team look lackluster. That's why Onazi was on standby and not tijani or Onyedika.
I disagree...
Formation is just one of the structure... personnel and tactics are...
Busquet is old but if you replace him with Ndidi, the Barca midfield may fall... That doesn't make Ndidi a bad player. Personnel and tactics are as important as formation..even far more important

I watched the game between Leicester City and Rennes for the Europa Conference League qualifiers, and noticed a name that looked Nigerian (different from the one we are familiar with) in the team list. I looked further and realized the player, Chituru Odunze who in fact is a goalkeeper is of Nigerian heritage.

My assumption was, for him to have made Leicester City team list for a euro based match then he is someone worth considering. He is 19 and currently plays for the USA u-19 team. He is also 6"7 and you rarely find goalkeepers with that height advantage. He has already been invited to the USA senior team, I believe he's someone worth considering for Nigeria. If our goalkeeper trainers were doing their job we have many more like this young man all over Europe.
