No be only drawing board. Na panel dem go set this time. Useless administrators. They let Rohr stay too long even when it was clear we were not moving forward. They appointed Yobo (apprentice) and Aigbogun (serial failure). They flirted with Peseiro (another lightweight coach). Then they gave Eguavoen too much powers, a coach who was carried away with Westerhoff’s philosophy of the early 90s. That’s mediocrity in continuity.

You are on point bro, I think this double header was way above Eguavon level of football knowledge, it was supposed to be tactical match and the Eagles came less prepared.

3 man midfield for the whole match.. in the 2nd half it turned to a 1 man midfield and that midfielder was a minus the only good thing he did was bringing down a Ghanaian player which was due to his poor positioning and he got carded.

For now Sanusi is better than Bassey for the S.E.

Promotion of mediocrity is what's affecting Nigeria not tribalism, nepotism and corruption.

Europeans, Whyte Americans and Asians e.t.c are tribal, nepotistic and corrupt but the high quality their corporate, academic and sports institutions produces is what hides their tribalism, nepotism and corruption.

Mention 7 high quality football academies in each region in Nigeria which means mention 1 in each region in Nigeria and their players playing in Europe top 10 leagues and compare it to only Chelsea FC academy and the players Chelsea have produced not to talk of the clubs ..

How many Nigerian billionaires own fully equipped football or sports academies in Nigeria not to talk about clubs.

I really don't know to be honest, but with regards to club football I would say Bassey is way ahead.

A good barometer is to see how many clubs will put in a bid to buy him and how many put in a bid for Bassey.

I very much doubt if Bassey will be in Rangers next season most likely the EPL but I don't see Sanusi moving to La Liga , EPL ,or a higher league.

tactics aside Eguavoen shouldn’t have started both bassey and Lookman, that’s very very risky

Why❓

In this year alone, two matches of enormous importance, we have been let down by amateur goal keeping and goalscoring. The thing dey pain die. Abeg when is the next CAF afcon draws. Let's move on quickly from this fiasco. It's too painful to think about.

Ezenwa never failed us. As a matter of fact, if Uzoho and Okoye were around, we wouldn't have qualified for Russia. I can say this before any oracle. It is that simple.
Nigerians were at the back of Ezenwa because he was home-based nothing more, nothing less.

Immediately after the Afcon, I suggested that the NFA, should scout for proper goalkeepers at home, attach a couple of goalkeeper trainers to their clubs, with these qualifiers in view.

Trust Nigerians, we are knuckle heads. Okoye and Uzoho monkey business have handed us our worst outings at both Afcon and world cup qualifiers back to back. The solution to goalkeepeing problem is not abroad. Those fans who went berserk in Abuja should have singled out Pinick and Alloy Agu for a mass beating.

We have good goalkeepers at home. Austin Oladapo is better than all the midfielders in Super Eagles except Ndidi. Oladapo can shoot from anywhere.

This 38yr old man called Uzoho with his awkward foot steps like a girrafe chasing down a ball of coconut down the stairs. His lack of foot work has been a hindrance to his steps that's why he's always rooted to his spot and can't make a save with his legs.
The guy managed to kick the ball out for a corner kick while under no pressure. When you have a goalie who can't kick the ball properly, you will always struggle to build attacks.

TheGoodJoe is fixated with particular players who he believes meet and exceed the standards.

I have a bias for Nigerian origin players in the UK , but it's both emotive and objective. But that bias is knowledge ,it is participative and it's involvement based. That means l know a lot more about European and particularly English football.

Bias in this context means specialist and specific knowledge not prejudicial preference.

But the 8 of them we threw into the starting 11 didn't cause a change cry cry

I noticed some of us are blaming Amaju Pinnick.
Amaju is not to be blamed, we, top OAP's, ex eagles and most especially Sunday Dare are to be blamed. Sacking Rohr few days to a major tournament will go down as one of the greatest sports harakiri for Nigeria.

Amaju only fault was not sacking Rohr after last nations cup but Rohr met his target.

The one silver lining in the failure of the SE to advance to Qatar is that we would be more focused on the failing of our political leaders..

I have said it. The mundial would ve been a big distraction. Even some parties will put it in their manifesto as part of their achievements. This time, the elements wants us to get focused on what is going on in this our country. The shit has started hitting the fan. The destruction of the stadia was not only because the SE lost. Rather, the only joy of the common street man was removed. So he vented his anger on something.

Gentle men, this was my post before the Afcon. Who remembers this?
You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Eguavoen na bad market. The only Nigerian coach with any ounce of merit to coach the Super Eagles is Samson Siasia but even him is a yesterday's man.
We should be looking towards South America or Europe for a developmental manager.

Can't wait for Pinnick to leave too. He has done a lot in terms of branding but has made gaffes in key areas. His decisions put us in this mess.

Age grade teams are now a mess with mediocre coaches.

Can't trust him to hire a first grade coach like our African counterparts. He will probably travel to Manchester for a chat with Guardiola this time around to recommend a coach.

If the motives aren't sinister, why would employers travel to scout for employees when they can simply advertise and screen applications in a straightforward manner?

Appointment of new coaches should be handled by the new board.

The NFF's biggest regret is the FIFA windfall for qualification that they would have received to misappropriate.

Its being reported that a member of FAZ and CAF committee died at the Abuja stadium last night.. Report said he collapsed... No evidence as to whether it was as a result of the fans invasion of the pitch...

Either way, heavy sanction from FIFA is loading for he NFF..

The team bus was also blocked by fans...

This isn't a good sight...

If Nigeria was a sane country, some people would have honorably resigned...Some players would have announced their retirement

Akpeyi do blunder for friendly against Argentina dem wan kill am ,at least Na friendly

Fact remains that Akpeyi has performed better than uzoho combined with Okoye for the eagles

Put Okoye or uzoho at the post at the 2019 afcon and we won’t smell semi finals

The people wey prefer uzoho Dey bash Okoye earlier ,and the people wey prefer Okoye Dey happy say uzoho do blunder yesterday grin

Ezenwa is a better talent than Uzoho and Okoye. The investment in those two lads would have been better spent on Ezenwa.
Athletico Madrid and Cadiz at a point seriously looked at signing Ezenwa.

Okoye's blasting was because he is fine and a lady's man.

So, most of the men were just full of envy. Their comments always referred to fine boy ,model, women, instagram, etc.

Instead of them to focus on their attackers and midfielders that refused to score, na Maduka dem face.

Our attackers did not score in open play on the 2 legs. How can go to the world cup without scoring goals? If by chance you land there by a stroke of luck, na disgrace u go carry come from there.

Porto plays in the UCL so if Bassey moves to an EPL team that's not playing in the UCL that means he still can't lace Sanusi's boots especially for the S.E..
