TheSuperNerd: U say they wear the same jersey, I say they have different names. We all know academies represent NPFL clubs in youth tournaments. Like I said, let see how they compete when players like Andy Okpe leave the club. It is very easy to sell academy boys. Let me see u have to sell first team players and replace them adequately. MFM would still be on top if they kept Stephen Odey and Sikiru. |

Danielnino00: Good idea. Sound process. Build a strong squad, then rescreen to look for players that are better than the quality players you have selected. The WAFU squad will serve as a building template. I appreciate the process. 1 Like 1 Share |

mostob: Nathan Ake silences Bukayo Saka and upstages Erling Haaland by scoring FA Cup winner against Arsenal to show why Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola loves him so much He added: “When we talk about the margins of this game, you’ve got to turn round and say Ake dealing with Saka [was vital]. “I think Saka is Arsenal’s key, ace player, arguably been their best player over a few months. Come on mehn... Saying MFM would be on top and not relegated today if Odey had stayed is like saying Enyimba were primed for relegation since Enyeama, Aiyenugba and some others left. Come on man! 😆 It is not Odey's fault that MFM aren't exactly the force they were few seasons ago. It is the fault of the management. Recruitment drive is an everyday thing. Season in, season out, teams should never stop recruiting or bringing through quality talents/players. Also, coaching is very important too. Bring in quality replacements and ensure they are under the right coaching. You just never stop on these two fronts: Players recruitment/grooming and coaching. Discovering an Odey and grooming him and seeing him shine for your side today is no guarantee that he will be there tomorrow. A talented young player like that must move on and it is on the management to replace said talents with more quality talents. This is how clubsides thrive in the ever changing world of football talents. You also know very well know that this is not like having Academies represent you for a period. Almost Every NPFL club provided U15-U16 teams during the NPFL promises back then but how many actually have an actual youth structure or a functional youth/feeder side. With Remo Stars, Beyond Limits FA is their own academy side. It is part of the Remo structure. Having a different name doesn't make them separate now does it? Officially they are one but just have different segments of the talents/players hierarchy in the club. Okay, let me ask you... FC Liefering was acquired by RB Salzburg and since 2012, they have been RB Salzburg's feeder side. Almost every Salzburg young blood that is to be given a chance for a shot at the first team goes through Liefering. Does the different names make them separate? Are they not under the RB Salzburg Club hierarchy? Salzburg also have Salzburg II in their stricture mind you. So they are all together. Salzburg, Liefering, Salzburg II. And the players all interchange week in, week out or on occasions rotating between the first and the second teams at Liefering or Salzburg II. On Andy Okpe, I get your point. That's one of their key men if not their main man sef. But Remo just sold a super talented Akinsanmiro Ebenezer to Inter Milan. Don't you think keeping such a talent can enhance their first team? You know it would... but they sold him off at the expense of the potential quality he would definitely bring to their first team. Finally, you say it is very easy to sell Academy boys. But is it easy selling same academy boys from Nigeria to some of the elite clubsides in Europe?? Come on Basco, give Remo their flowers. 😉 BascoVanVeli: 1 Like |

mostob: Talking about Ake earlier this month, Guardiola hailed the versatile defender: “Nobody talks about Nathan and right now he’s playing beyond our expectations as a left-back. “As a defender, how good he defends, all the actions with the ball are clever, these types of players help to make the others bright like Kevin [De Bruyne] and Erling [Haaland]. “I always pay attention to these types of things.” 1 Like |

After Ake’s match-winning display, Guardiola’s praise continued. “He played good,” said the Spaniard. “He never complains, even last season when he didn’t play much he had a big smile on his face in training and was always really, really good. This was what I hammered about Iheanacho when he was at Manchester City. Leaving Manchester City was not the best move at that time but gaining from the training process. With time, it all falls into place. The tactical lessons are golden and with time make better players. 1 Like 2 Shares |

TheSuperNerd: U are going all the way left with my Stephen Odey point. It is very simple, can Remo lose their star first team players and still thrive? Akwa United lost Olisa Ndah and Charles Ashimene and went from champions to barely making the top half. Enugu Rangers C.A.N.E turned to C.A.N and they coach ended up losing his job after a forgetful season. How can u post that Nigeria is the 5th biggest exporter of footballers and also say it is not easy to sell academy boys? They probably account for 70 percent of the moves abroad. 1 Like |

TheSuperNerd: Most of the transfer fees probably came from the European based players, cus on the local scene,NPFL clubs are losing players for free.. most players sign short term deals that would enable them quit easier... Clubs need to do better in that regard. What is even the record transfer fee an NPFL team has received for a player before? CC: Bascovanveli |

TheGoodJoe: It should work out if Ukagbe doesn't allow his judgment to be compromised cus there's also talks of agents bringing egunje along... Also, it would make sense to select players who are easily within the MRI eligible age, so should they qualify for the world cup, there would be no need to conduct another screening to select another group of players... Meanwhile, didn't you once suggest that the NFF have a nationwide screening programme for the u-17 where they would be a screening camp in each state to make it easier to discover talents? I like that idea... 1 Like |

Danielnino00: That is the way I believe would work, a more comprehensive screening process over the zone screening process. I hope with time we understand that a comprehensive screening process will do more for us in the long run. |

You are dodging the actual question. Nigeria exports players on a steady but please how many of dem academy boys head to elite sides in Europe? Since it is so easy to sell academy boys. The point is Remo just sold one to Inter Milan, one of Europe's Elite sides. How often does this happen with Academy boys? Moving from an academy in Nigeria to some of Europe's Elite clubsides. And as for your point on Andy Okpe, we can't really know for sure unless they lose him now shall we? Good. And nothing is leftist with my bringing up Enyimba. It is within the centre of the whole point. Enyimba lost key players like Enyeama and co and still thrived and stayed competitive. So this shows it is possible to replace key players if one takes quality recruitments very seriously. So instead of anticipating doom for Remo, let's just wait and see, not so? charlesemeka85:Bassey has been one of their best players yet they are not satisfied. They want to him to defend, dribble, pass and score cos they paid 27m for him. Unserious club. They need to let the boy be! Their midfield and attack is nothing to write home about. That's where the problem is! 2 Likes |

TheSuperNerd: Didn't Chidozie Awaziem go from an academy to Porto? Moses Simon went from his academy to Ajax. Let's not even start with Kelechi Iheanacho, Isaac Success and co. Comparing Remo Stars to Enyimba makes no sense at all. Remo are a team that just came from the NNL and had one good season, Enyimba are and were Enyimba at the time. They always have bench players who are good enough to be starters. My point remains that one and less than a quarter seasons is not enough for Remo to be considered an elite club in the NPFL. 1 Like |

Remo are a team that just came from the NNL and have already sold an academy player to one of Europe's Elite Clubsides. That is the special thing about them. Their work on young talents have been so good that within a very shortwhile they have pulled off such a remarkable sale on a talent that is so highly rated... and to one of Europe's elites. No one is calling Remo Elite but only pointing out their well organised youth and club structure as a conducive environment for scouting, grooming and recruting some of the best young talents in the land. Stay with the point. Remo are doing a fantastic job with talents and that is all I have been saying. Na you dey bring in Elite club in NPFL. BascoVanVeli: |
