As much as Pesieros record looks poor, but to be fair, he wasn't the reason we lost yesterday. If Chukwueze, Osimhen, Simon and Lookman composed themselves better, we would have scored 3 goals between them. Tactically, Pesiero withdrew Iwobi and made him the ball progressor in CM next to Ndidi whose limitation is well known. Most of the build-up play went through Iwobi as a result and it was OK and we dominated as expected against a lesser opposition. The fault line for me was the attackers who looked to make hasty decisions when they were close to goal. There was simply no calmness or clarity in thought when we got close to their goal which is sad. Crosses were over hit, final passes were misplaced and shots were poor. Uzoho for me, had one job. He had to be quicker off his line, since the team was pressing high up the pitch. A keeper like Ederson would swept the ball away before the Guinean made contact with the ball. Kog45: The point is before they start their over-dribbling they should make sure the S.E is leading the match. They should feed the strikers more than trying to take the glory and the strikers too should learn to stay onside and stop going for the same crosses. |

BascoVanVeli:There were instances yesterday where he should have cross the ball or make a cut back. Osimehn was free on one occasion but he decided to dribble back and give the pass to Chuks. He needs to be decisive. 2 Likes |

Joebie: We had no business sacking Rohr few weeks before AFCON 2021, a tournament he qualified us for with relative ease(again). I was of the opinion that he should have been allowed to play that tournament and then eventually sacked if he didn't take us at least the final. That should have been the ultimatum. People complain about how he spent 5 years in charge of the team without winning a trophy but then I ask "How many tournaments were held during Rohr's time?". The answer is two. Just two tournaments i.e 2018 World Cup and 2019 AFCON. Were you expecting him to win the 2018 world cup? Were you expecting him to win the 2019 AFCON; a tournament which prior to his appointment we failed to qualify for in back to back editions? Let's look at the AFCON stats: 2013 AFCON (Keshi) : Winners. 2015 AFCON: Failed to Qualify. 2017 AFCON: Failed to Qualify. Rohr was appointed and then: 2019 AFCON: Won Bronze(Third Place) Eguavoen was appointed and then: 2021 AFCON: Eliminated at Round of 16. Rohr should have at least been allowed to play AFCON 2021. His sack would have then been justified if he failed. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

COOL10: By sacking Rohr, NFF took one of the best decisions ever. Unfortunately, Paseiro seems worse. It's time to sack Paseiro. Not just sacking, Nigeria need to ban him from entering our country and write to FIFA to withdraw his badge. 2 Likes |

zuchyblink: True. We do not have enough technical players to play the kind of beautiful football we want. Apart from Alex Iwobi, Leon Balogun and Kelechi Iheanacho, I don't think there's any other player who understands the basics of football technicality. Everyone is playing Gra Gra football. Push me, I push you. One route football. Alex Iwobi grew up in the Arsenal Academy and then played for the first team so it's only natural for him to be that technical. Iheanacho played for Man City, so his technicality is not a surprise. But for others? π€·π½ββοΈπ€·π½ββοΈπ€·π½ββοΈ 1 Like |

bossto: FR was the midfield our problem yesterday? IMO, a flat-foot mistake from the defense cost us a goal and the lack of synergy in the attack prevented us from scoring. We dominated the middle from the beginning of the game till the end. One serious problem I notice in our team is how going behind puts our attackers in so much tension that they begin to lose the ability to work together, They become impatient, agitated and end up not scoring. Going behind is normal, we need to take things easily and calmly so that we nip our chances. Nobody will beat them even if they lose a hundred matches. 2 Likes 1 Share |

hatakekakashi: He needs to learn to shoot on target first before learning how to curve the ball. If he knew how to curve the ball then he would have been a good crosser. Which also means he won't have blasted the ball but he would have crossed the ball calmly into the net. In fact all he had to do was lob the ball into the net. 1 Like |

Just seen the highlights of the match. On a good day we were winning that match with a 3 goal lead. Too many chances went to waste that you can't really blame the coach. G/ bissau just came to defend and counter. The next match we should play moffi and osihmen together. Simon should start over lookman. 2 Likes |

Amedino99: Anyone who watches the highlights would see that we would have won that game with a high margin Is it the coach's fault if the players missed chances? He set them up to create chances and they did On another day, GB would have chopped 4 nil with the same players and coach It was just not our day 2 Likes |

enomakos: You are not sure are you? With his running and energy to burn he might just be the one providing Osimhen those passes, and at same time breaking up the play from them, Mind you, Etebo got a knack for outside shots, and can cross the ball too |

BascoVanVeli: Gosh. This guy's English is REALLY horrible. I struggled to understand most of what he said. Even Gernot Rohr spoke much better English than this. If Peseiro can't even communicate basic thoughts to the media, how does he explain advanced tactical instructions to the team? How does he do one-on-one talks and motivate the players? This is certainly a major handicap and must not be overlooked. I know there are non-English coaches such as Mourinho and Klopp coaching successfully in England but they speak far better English than this. In future, I suggest the NFF includes fluency in spoken English as part of their criteria for hiring coaches. 5 Likes 2 Shares |

do4luv14: One habit our players have that affect the team's performance is their poor decision making on the ball.. Some are fond of holding on to the ball unnecessary.. Etebo is very guilty of that..in fact it's an aspect of his game that makes him a liability to the team.. His presence yesterday won't have made any difference... |

Nothing spoil.. we will secure qualification for the AFCON if we win the return leg...it's all good.... Since some people are convinced that the pitch was the main reason why we lost, let's hope that the Guinea Bissau pitch is better than ours... The stadium apparently got a last minute approval from CAF, otherwise we would have played the return leg in Morocco on that pitch we thrashed Sao Tome 1 Like |

Kog45:Shock results like that do happen every now and then. To be objective, the Guineans didn't deserve the victory based on the balance of play but regardless history will always record they beat Nigeria in Abuja. On a better pitch, those overhit final passes will connect and we won't be having this discussion. 1 Like |
