Credit to Mozambique.

They played for nearly an hour with 10 men and still BEAT Nigeria 1-0 in the second half.

There's a reason why Nigeria hasn't won a friendly game in 5 years....just not a very efficient team.
But Nigeria beat them 3-1 when they were 11! You go just come online dey post nonsense 😤 😂

Have we beat any good team under Peseiro?

Let's not waste tax payers money going to the Afcon if Uzoho is the person playing in goal.
Best we withdraw from the tournament and save hard earned dollars instead of fooling around in Abijan.

Uzoho should have found a more fitting career, cause football definitely wasn't his calling.

That's the best approach. The slot should be given to another country. Enough of the circus

This game na opportunity for Osimhen to stat pad,but injury happens,at least 2 goals he would have scored today.

Actually yes. The exact profile that will elevate our middle game quality alongside what we have on grous now. But the team for Afcon has been picked. Too late to include Nwakali now as things stand.

The focus remains on the players Jpes is working with.

You've no right to say a player is not fit for the team, when you're know as promoting a mediocre player like nwakali. Guy you're a shameless mtchheew

As long as Uzoho is in goal for 9ja, we are minus 1, i remember the look Ndidi gave him when he scored for Saudi, it was a 'you are useless' look grin
Well victor boniface has come to stay in that team strengthening our attack
but i dare say i cannot see any impressive technical input Paseiro has brought to this team walahi, he's just lucky with the crop of individually talented players available now, Rohr did far better than this

Our goal keeping is my major headache. Why Paserio invited 4 goal keepers and decided to play only Uzoho is known to only him. I don't ever want to see Sadiq in the National team again until he regains form. Please we need to give Nwakali an invite. Fisayo needs to be allowed to gain experience. National team is not an easy team to play for! Paserio playing Aribo alongside Moffi and bringing on Boni for Moffi to support Sadiq shows he is getting it. Good job boys. Unto the next one!

Frank Onyeka fizzled out from the moment Onyedika left the pitch on 61mins. His shine as seen in the first half dimmed as Aribo was now deployed to the middle to pair Onyeka since Lookman had also come in same time Onyedika was pulled out.

This meant more defensive duties and less charges forward for Onyeka since Aribo is there now. Did they compliment each other in the middle between minute 61 and Minute 75? Not so much.

Then on 75mins, Iwobi came in for Aribo. Same story. Onyeka had to stick to the role Onyedika had vacated.

There are players who play better when paired or played with the right partners in a department or on same side on the pitch.

The reason we saw an Onyeka goal today was Onyedika's cruise control from deep permitting Onyeka to make those late runs forward and unleash his ball striking.

This quality disappeared almost with Aribo and Iwobi moved/brought in alongside Onyeka in the middle on 61 and 75mins respectively.

I didn't watch the game to know whether we did in style,
Letting 10man Mozambique score us don't look good, but a win is a win especially we and friendlies.

What do you mean?

Scholes, Lampard and Gerrard almost always played together whenever they were fit.

They all played together in Euro 2004, while Lampard and Gerrard frequently started together in World cups 2006 and 2010 (after Scholes' international retirement)

komekn:

Very rarely will you ever find Lampard playing with Gerard at the same almost NEVER.

Good news is that we will never struggle to create chances and score goals

Bad news is,

Our opponents at the AFCON have probably now studied us and know all they have to do is pack the bus, insha Allah their way to the last half of the game (after we've missed 1,000,000,000,000 easy chances) and then take a shot from the half-way line at Uzoho cause of course Uzoho will do another one of his wonderful acrobatics and spill a speculative shot into his own net.

GAME OVER.

Sadiq is a perfect example of 'the spirit is willing but the body can't' . I still think his long legs are always in disagreement with his skillset.

Man would set himself up and when it is time to execute the final action, the legs will get in the way.

The poor performance of Uzoho is overshadowing a lot of faults in this team.

1. Poor pressing

2. Defensive lapses

3. Wasted chances

Friendlies have left the same old questions unanswered and time is fast running out.

The 'team' remains incredibly susceptible to set pieces, and no, it's not just the goalkeeper.

All goalkeeping options are short of confidence and visibly shaken by recent high profile clangers.....and management have kept them in the spotlight thereby ensuring the vicious cycle persists.

Apart from in goal, personnel is not lacking to build a more effective and efficient machine of a team.

They're seemingly unable to comprehend or grasp basic game management. Playing direct when really maintaining sustained possession would be the more intelligent option. And trying to maintain possession when the wiser option is to go direct.

The idea behind several substitutions when analysed carefully are obviously not well thought through....as again evidenced in the second half against Mozambique.

This 'team' is still much less than the sum of its parts...and really relies on luck more than it ought to.

Wish them well.

Of course I don't respond to any quotes.
