A ball playing goalie and centre backs are crucial against teams pressing high.

There was high possession turnover from the two teams in the final third during first phase build up in the opener yesterday.

Nwabili should start cos of his ball playing abilities...his reflexes can't possibly be worse than Uzoho's.

Bro, stop sugarcoating what we all saw. Nothing special about Yesterday's game (though they weren't bad).

Even the GB way beat us for our backyard no play half of that yesterday. But wen dam see us dem go Turn lion. Likewise every other african teams.

If we had a good coach I bet CIV will be fortunate to get a draw next game.
They don't play like lions when they play us. Rather we play like sheep, that's why it looks like they are lions when they play us.

And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight. Numbers 13 v 33

The same Lookman that the only good game he has is against Sao Tome? Hmm..

What birthed this perspective of yours?

Lookman is competitive against Osimhen. He will not be a good supporting striker unless he plays for the team.

Yea... it is true. I mixed them up. I was pretty sure GB didn't really do anything with their crosses yesterday.

Yeah I read but I think it will be too risky playing two debutants in midfield.

Really hope they can start sharply and with fluidity before the opponents settle into their usual low block which under JP we seem clueless to overcome.

Samueltemi337:
owngoalnigeria that just reported that Yusuf will start ahead of Iwobi

And onyemachi will be at LB
while Bassey will start at CB

And chukwueze isn't fit to start

See as our mind dey shake for ordinary equatorial guinea.

That means if we jam Senegal or Morocco, half of us will give up the ghost before matchday while the remaining half will develop high blood pressure 🙂.

AFCON 2023: 5 Reasons Super Eagles Must Be Wary Of Equatorial Guinea

January 13 2024 Completesports

As Nigeria’s Super Eagles get set to take on the Nzalang of Equatorial Guinea in Group A Completesports.com’s JAMES AGBEREBI gives five reasons why Jose Peseiro’s men must be wary of the football minnows.

Flashscore: Follow the fastest live scores & results on Flashscore!

– EQUATORIAL GUINEA HAVE BEATEN SOME HEAVYWEIGHTS IN AFCON

Despite just three appearances at the Africa Cup of Nations, Equatorial Guinea have defeated some of heavyweights in the competition.

Sky247
In their first appearance in 2012, Equatorial Guinea beat current AFCON champions Senegal 2-1 in the group stage.

As host in 2015, they came from a goal down to beat Tunisia 2-1 after extra-time to advance into the semi-finals.

Also at the 2021 edition, Equatorial Guinea beat Algeria 1-0 in the group stage before sending Mali home in the round of 16 after edging them on penalties.

– EQUATORIAL GUINEA HAVE NEVER CRASHED OUT IN GROUP STAGE AT AFCON

The Nzalang Nacional of Equatorial Guinea have only made three appearances at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Their first-ever appearance was as co-hosts with Gabon in 2012, in 2015 when they hosted the tournament and also at the 2021 edition in Cameroon.

In all the three tournaments they have participated in, Equatorial Guinea always make it out of the group stage.

In 2012 they got to the quarter-finals, on home soil in 2015 they finished fourth and ended at the quarter-finals stage in 2021.

– EQUATORIAL GUINEA WERE UNBEATEN THROUGHOUT 2023

Equatorial Guinea went throughout 2023 without losing a single game, recording five wins and two draws in seven games.

Among the countries who fell to Equatorial Guinea in 2023 was Carthage Eagles of Tunisia in the AFCON 2023 qualifiers.

On their part, the Super Eagles suffered just one loss in 2023, recorded four wins and three draws.

– EQUATORIAL GUINEA ARE UNBEATEN IN 10 CONSECUTIVE GAMES

Heading into Sunday’s Group A clash with the Super Eagles, Equatorial Guinea are unbeaten in 10 consecutive games.

The last time Equatorial Guinea last suffered defeat was against Cameroon (2-0) on 9 September 2022.

Since the loss to Cameroon, the Nzalang Nacional have secured five wins and five draws.

– DEFENSIVELY SOLID

Equatorial Guinea have shown that they can be a tough team to break down judging by their performance in their last five games.

As they prepare for the Super Eagles on Sunday, the team has conceded just two goals in their last five fixtures.

After a 1-1 draw with Libya, Equatorial Guinea played goalless with Burkina Faso, beat Namibia 1-0, edged Liberia 1-0 before a 1-1 draw with Djibouti.

So u see am. I'd better be cautious with Onyedika-Alhassan-Iwobi. In a 4-2-3-1. Alhassan has the lungs unlike Aribo. E-Guinea will want to run us street with counters. We need to shield our defence, break their passes and pray iwobi- Simon- Lookman comes to d party.

Yes 4-2-3-1. But I am not sold out on the positional awareness of Onyeka. He always have the propensity of leaving his primary duty post. Onyedika for me would have been ideal. Ekong should keep his eyes on him. Nig vs Ghana in my mind.
