Yes 4-2-3-1. But I am not sold out on the positional awareness of Onyeka. He always have the propensity of leaving his primary duty post. Onyedika for me would have been ideal. Ekong should keep his eyes on him. Nig vs Ghana in my mind.
That's why Yusuf is there to cover for him

Yes I pray onyeka comes to the party. If we must pass from the back, then he has a lot of work to do today. Let him just keep it simple. His primary duty is just to screen the defence. Provide passing channels to other MF's and to beat the opponents press. He should stick to it. Abeg

The lineup is okay enough..

But this Peseiro is a funny man sha.. he is literally doing what we have been clamouring for him to do ages ago.. trying another goalkeeper aside Uzoho... Inviting Alhassan and using a 3 man midfield more..

Onyeka plays more like a box to box midfielder... I think Alhassan will be charged with the primary responsibility of playing DM .. he too has a lot of energy to bomb forward..

It's a good midfield set up overall . Plenty of energy there .

As long as we keep it cool like Ivory Coast did yesterday..... We will be good to go.... A early goal by us will calm everyone's nerve as well as we build into the game.

I still don’t understand what Jose Peseiro sees in Semi Ajayi sef. That dude has ZERO ball control. His first touch is atrocious. Semi Ajayi can’t even start for my high school team and here he is playing for the national team!

Super Eagles starting lineup v Equatorial Guinea: Nwabili; Aina, Troost-Ekong, Semi Ajayi, Zaidu; Onyeka, Yusuf, Iwobi, Lookman, Simon, Osimhen

Like he has a choice. There is no other striker to meet up his 442. He was just constrained to the formation.
Our opponents will play a low block so he needs a Gk with good footwork. That ruled out Uzoho. Circumstances made the crayfish bend.

Not a terrible selection but, in my opinion, Bassey should’ve started ahead of Ajayi, and Onyedika over Grank Onyeka. Onyeka is defensively solid but lacks creativity.

I think you got a point there, yemyke. But I am very concerned about Ajayi’s poor ball control and Ekong’s poor & inaccurate passing. And neither one of them has pace either. May God help us at Center Back today!

No Nacho, sad. Also I thought Moffi replaced Boniface, why is he not on the bench?

Exactly what I wanted to say..... JP has done what most of us here have been clamouring for 433... Alhassan in the middle, Uzoho to the bench,.... Etc

At this point it is on the players if they don't perform.... We will hold them responsible for any failure

Ekong & Ajayi!!! Let's pray the DM does their job well. Both will be fine. It's swim or sink for them. Play well, u stay with the team. Bleep up you will be send on exile forever.

Yeah, just saw Nacho on the bench. I thought Moffi was supposed to replace Boniface, will he still join the squad later? I personally don't like the idea of Onuachu as back up striker.
