To be fair... across his stints as assistant in 2013 U17, Head coach in 2015 U17 and Head coach in 2016-2017 U20, we have:

Currently in the Eagles:
- Kelechi Iheanacho
- Wilfred Ndidi
- Taiwo Awoniyi
- Francis Uzoho
- Victor Osimhen
- Samuel Chukwueze

Others (have played for the Eagles but not recently):
- Chidera Ejuke
- Kelechi Nwakali
- Isaac Success
- Kingsley Michael (made his debut under Rohr but has faded from the scene now)

mostob:
Mention 10 players he had stint with in the grassroot level that is currently in the SE squad.

Ok. Never knew he worked with some names on this list which led to that question.

if we can't attribute the 2022 wcq failure to him since he was assistant to eguavon, then garba's u17 too shouldn't be counted. All in all, meliforme's point that amunike is conversant with many players in the squad isn't true.
personally I always see points like β€˜he knows the club/team’, β€˜he knows the players’ as very unnecessary

Nff shld meet me in court 😏

This is not yet confirmed but I hope it is true. Emmanuel Amunike is my pick from an economic and playing philosophy standpoint. He will shine with this team and won't run the glass house ragged in terms of cost.

I can't wait for the official Announcement.

TheGoodJoe... it seems we will finally get our top wish for the job. It has been a long time in coming since Post-2019.

Elyte89 trying to hold press conference after his rejection as Super Eagles coach.

His words, "My Haram style is the best for this team. We don't need the midfield. Route one football saves time and energy. Just balloon it from defence, bypassing the midfield into the attack, 55 times in a game and we could get 5-6 goals las las. The NFF are missing the plot not hiring me and my haram route-one style"

Update!
The coaching job is between Amuneke and Finidi.
Finidi is ahead due to his clean record and character.
Amuneke is being considered for the technical Adviser position (Westerhoff-Bonfrere style leadership).
The problem is who would be the top guy in charge of the players list between the two.
We be insider! elyte89 why you no wire that money na you 4 be the coach now. Haa!!

I don't think Amuneke can give u that type of footbal u so much crave with these players.

But if he has been chosen, let us hope he succeeds,I won't be too excited until he does well with sound tactical inputs not necessary tiki taka possessive brand of display.

Terrible decision.......if true.

He cannot and won't get the team to play the type of attacking football that you desire cos we lack the personnel.

I also see him making questionable calls and decisions especially with regards to player invitations and squad selection.

If we had to go local, I'll have taken a chance on Michael Nsien the US U-20 coach. He seems to have better knowledge and grasp of modern tactics.

Amuneke is not that man but I'll be happy and glad to be proven wrong.

Nigeria first

Keep in mind Amunike is fully in touch with the progress of our national team and also our local scene. Also, he has a strong grasp of modern tactics. He won't go around the country teaching local coaches his ideas of the game if he was not passionate about. Also, Amunike can think outside the box and will be ready to get his team kicking.

Finally, he is someone that has worked in some of the toughest situation of the country and will be prepared to mitigate gaps.

I honestly expect a good show from him. Most critics of Amunike is merely based on sentiments.

From where did you draw that notion. Amunike built a strong U17 and U20 team. He could not achieve that if he was sentimental with his selections.

I remember when Yekini scored our first world cup goal.
He just walked off instead of celebrating with Yekini.
I was kind of shocked. Even Finidi walked off though he gave the assist.

However, I fault Yekini. His jubilation was selfish.
First World Cup goal for your country and you go hug net. Na net pass the ball to you?
