Since Italy did not qualify, is Balotelli still eligible to play for Nigeria?
We can call him up ASAP.

Thank you so much. I had wanted to ask how many of those players were actually born in Morocco after seeing tbaba1234 's post earlier. I was too lazy to do the research. I remember the commentator saying something to that effect in their game against CIV.

With Raja Casablanca as Africa's Champions they should have put faith in their home based players in order not to kill the development of their league. I love my sarcasm.

Modified.
Oh and let me add, the commentator said something like most of them couldn't speak Arabic.
aha!!! If it were Nigeria..

Most teams are going multinational.

Bryan Idowu sabi sing ooo. The fraternal spirit in this team is thick. They are a family. I watched them sing happy birthday song with gusto to a member of the house committee on Sports. Rohr gave her a lovely bouquet of flowers.

I guess anyone that misses out on invitation for any match will miss playing for Nigeria and perhaps miss the warmth and fun in camp.

Reports from ANS and OGN suggest that Rohr might experiment with 3 at the back in a 3-4-2-1 formation.. Shehu and Aina are tipped to play as wing backs.

..............Akpeyi

Awaziem Balogun Ekong

Shehu Ogu Ndidi Aina

.........Mikel Iwobi

We are the ones bothering ourselves with assigning tags to these guys. #homegrown #Foreignbred #Foreignborn #Oyinbo.

They are all Nigerians and if they are the best players we have, let's have an exclusive Starting Eleven made up of them.

But trust my people to be all sentimental and emotional.
That's true. Our constitution grants citizenship to anyone who has a Nigerian father or mother or even grandparent. It's automatic. Unless it is renounced they are and remain Nigerians.

The roommates arrangement appears to be like as follows:

Kelechi, Iwobi (Iwobi always on snapchat with Kelechi)
Balogun, Aina (Balogun always snaps Aina when he is sleeping and posts on instagram)
Ekong, Ebuehi
Onyekuru, Nwakali
Ogu, Nwakaeme

Looks like an attempt to crowd the middle as well. It will be interesting to see how the wing backs work.. They are critical to a formation like this because they are expected to attack and defend.

Nice experiment if true.

No width in this team. If we play this personnel and formation, I don't see us having a shot on target.

I see alot of comments giving Morocco the thumbs up for qualifying with with the Dutch, Belgian and French D team. Why use Morocco as example?
Why not use Egypt who played up to the AFCON finals and qualified for the World Cup in grand style with a team of home grown players.

Algeria went all foreign and qualified for the World Cup in 2014 and even.made the last 16, what have become of the Algerian team of foreigners 4 years on?
They can't even beat (no disrespect) Zimbabwe, nearly lost 6 world cup qualifying games in a stretch. They will be forced to do what they failed to do 4years ago.
This one don pass replacing coaches at will. They need a full system reset!

Inviting foreign born is not wrong, but basing the foundation of your national team on players like these is all shades of wrong and not a sustainable development in the long run.
If you like argue blindly, but I've made my position so clear on this matter that even a 10year old will understand.

The wingbacks are to provide width. Ndidi would be at the base of the diamond and should slot into central defence should any of the three CB get drawn out wide while Ogu will be at the tip of the diamond to support the attack. My only fear is that Balogun does not have pace.

I think, shehu and Aina are expected to provide width and also defend.. The three man backline and 2 DM is supposed to give them more freedom with some cover.

Anyway, let us see how they set up first.

They know the dance very well but I'm not sure they danced the dance very well. While they were in their prime we didn't win Afcon, we didn't go beyond second round. That's how far their dance took us. Let's see this new guys dance. But if Rohr wants the old gaurd, I wish him and them the best.

I am quite sure that Martins and Uche are among our top5 scorers and their scoring ratios are way better than Ighalo's. These are proven guys, say what you want but it won't change the fact that Uche was the highest goalscorer during our qualifying campaign in 2010 neither will it change the fact that Martins is our 3rd highest scorer with a better ratio than Yakubu who is the second I believe.

Make Rohr call dem. I don tire for the talk. Let's discuss something else that is more proximate. Meanwhile analyse that possible line up and tactical formation. You say Rohr no always like to use one formation. Him want do Conte. What's your take?

You make a great and valid point.

The point, i made earlier was simple. There should be no local quota for the sake of promoting the league. The best players should simply be chosen.

Which match was more important btw Zambia and Algeria? Why did he give Aina chance but refused to give Ebuehi 5 minutes in an inconsequential match?

I think Rohr doesn't trust him.
His time will come soon. He should just be patient.
