Chima Akas and Afeez Aremu just got deals with no trial after WAFU cup. That is a rare thing for NPFL players.

Chikatara got a deal after CHAN same with Ejike.

Not everyone will get deals but some will. The exposure will provide opportunities for players to earn good deals abroad.

That is it. What of Shehu Abdulahi, Tunde Adeniji, Gbolahan Salami, Paul Onobi, Ezekiel Bassey, Ifeanyi Mathew, Ugonna Uzochukwu, Daniel Akpeyi, Azubuike Egwekwe? I can go on.

The CHAN is even making them push harder to move abroad rather than being an incentive for them to stay behind.

Rather than the CHAN being an incentive for players to stay behind, like you said,it has remained a major spring board for so many local league players to move abroad. I cannot name the number of players that have found European clubs due to their performances in both the CHAN qualifiers and the CHAN tournament itself.

That makes no sense. Isn't the AFCON also a major spring board? What are u getting at? If u make it U21 wouldn't it also be a major springboard?

That is my point. AFCON, AYC, CAF U17 etc are major spring boards for players to move abroad.

But you are saying the reverse for the CHAN that it is a major incentive for the players to stay behind. Abi no be so? grin
It has also followed the trend of the other CAF organized tourneys. So if the aim of CHAN is to keep players back in their home leagues, then sorry the aim is defeated.

Club loyalty and playing time issues; the main factor that would make this transfers window a big one. No nigerian yet under the radar, save Enyeama. Even Aguero...

Well he never gave the boy a chance, but I think we should be ok in that department with Dayo Ojo as backup so it is all good.
I agreed with you

That is what they don't want to hear.

But if left to me there should be an age limit for players participating in CHAN.

If the major purpose is to unearth talented players who are not given the opportunity to shine because of the preponderance of foreign players in the national team, then preference should be given to the younger players. Is someone like Rabiu Ali still aspiring to make the Super Eagles Team?

This tourney, IMO, should be restricted to U21 players still playing in their local leagues. We still have a good number of players within this age bracket that have not had the opportunity to showcase themselves. Besides, scouts are typically after young talented players and not those who have passed their primes in the local leagues. Europeans also have an U21 Tourney different from the U19/20. Cant we also do same? But in this case solely for home based players. Besides this will give teams a good start in the scouting for U23 players. For Eg the next AAG is in 2019 and Olympics in 2020. Players who are U21 in 2018 would still be U23 in 2020.

I am still yet to buy into this CHAN idea.

you made some nice point but the CHAN idea is not a bad one

If I give u an incentive there still is no guarantee that u will accept, incentive no be by force oga :-). At the same time it is not all of the players that end up leaving. Over 60% of the players we used in the last CHAN are still in the league, it is just an issue of them getting selected again by the coaching staff. Look at a 33 yr old(lolz) Rabiu Ali finally getting selected for his first CHAN.

I don't think CHAN led to the signing of any of these players. Akpeyi for instance shined against SA in a friendly, Salami left before CHAN and Ezekiel was becos of that La Liga nonsense that the NFF got into

Firstly, you said is there a better midfielder and now you moved to experience. Are you trying to say Rabiu Ali is the best we can offer in the whole 20 teams of Nigerian league, I know Ojo is there but I seriously dont think Rabiu is gonna pull any surprises. He might pull a moment of excellence but he is very inconsistent. Talking about experience, why is Chinedu Udoji not there since you are crazy about experience.
chinedu case is something else ,I believe he is an unlucky guy
even when he was the captain of enyimba for years he was never invited to the national team

Firstly, Rabiu Ali featured prominently in the 2014 CHAN under Keshi. You remember the famous come back against Morocco? He started it.

Secondly, the incentive to stay, you talk about is not just working. Instead the CHAN has become more of an opportunity to leave.

Lets even look at a more recent case. How was Chisom Chikatara spotted by the foreign scouts?

How did Ejike Uzoenyi get to play in the PSL?

For Tosin Omoyele I can't say I didn't see any quote about his age

But Ohanu I think based on one of the reports I saw about him stated 19 years and he x a product ofor the 2012 National youth sports festival.

2 players in 2 competitions? I guess you want CHAN played behind closed doors so as to avoid player signings.

Apart from a few new additions in attack and replacement for newly foreign based, we just presented the same WAFU team. The best defender is injured.

Osas Okoro, who was a weak link is still in the team. We still have the same tree chopping CBs.

What is the point of playing Rabiu Ali? He is in his 40s. There is no super eagles future. How about a young and promising CM? Is the 40 year old Ali still the best midfielder in the league? Ifeanyi Ifeanyi is average at best. The midfield is very thin.

I am happy to see young faces in the attack, Nura and Sunday, hopefully they get plenty minutes.
three chopping? those two tall guys offend you?

Who is the best defender that is not there and who are the tree chopping center backs...Let me just hope you are not refering to Ariwachukwu and Steven Eze.

Ariwa didn't make the cut we are taking only one CB from WAFU.

We should not carry this Tammy to 2018, that nonsense must stop cheesygrincheesy . Imagine us playing England in the final now he fit go score 3 own goals like Senderos

I think...it should be restricted to players in their early 20s....or more still we use it to always prepare and keep our under 20 and 23 in shape...
